BIOGRAPHY
Carlos Ruiz grew up in Madrid, Spain. He loved watching wrestling on television, although there was not much popularity around his area. Being fluent in Spanish, he struggled to keep up with the American promotions because of the language barrier. Around the age of 29, he began training to become a professional wrestler while also teaching himself the English language using Babbel.com.
Carlos moved to the United States in 2017 when he signed an entry-level contract with the Extreme Measures Federation. He only had two official matches there before being released, despite going 2-0.
Carlos then signed with a defunct company named Next Level Wrestling. During the two months that the company existed, Carlos was 6-1 while also holding the NLW Pure Championship. The company closed its doors, however, and Carlos was without a wrestling home.
On the verge of deportation due to unemployment, Carlos found his way into an Independent contract with the Extreme Wrestling Corporation. It worked out for The Spanish Luchador. Throughout his career in the EWC, he racked up a 21-9 record while winning the EWC Indy Championship and also the EWC Tag Team Championships as a member of MUCHO GRANDE!
Draco Lazarus canceled Carlos' work visa and got him deported back to Spain. While back home, Carlos worked on and gained dual citizenship and returned to the States to work as an official Spanish-American.
He retired from the EWC in the spring of 2019, but has never lost the itch to compete. That is why he is now here in the AWF.

WRESTLING STYLE:
So, he initially didn't actually know what a Luchador was (he's naive and innocent). So he didn't wrestle like one. Once he learned what it is, he kept the nickname because he was so adored as "The Spanish Luchador."
He wrestles a little more like a smaller heavyweight. Doesn't have super powerful moves, but his moves are high-impact. He isn't a flyer, but he IS a technician. Has adopted little moves here and there that you'd see out of Luchadors, such as moonsaults and hurricanranas.
ENTRANCE THEME:
"Bamboleo" by Gypsy Kings
ENTRANCE DESCRIPTION:
"Bamboleo" by Gypsy Kings hits over the P.A. System and the crowd goes crazy for their Spanish Luchador! Carlos Ruiz walks out from the back posing for the crowd in his leather jacket that is zipped halfway up, pink speedo wrestling trunks, pink boots, and Maui Jim sunglasses. He stops on the way to the ring a couple of times to take selfies with the crowd.
(Announcer): Making his way to the ring... from Madrid, Spain... weighing in at 212 pounds... CARLOOOOS RUUUUIIIIZ!
He slides into the ring and blows kisses to the adoring fans. He smiles as he removes his jacket and sunglasses and hands them to the ringside attendant.
