“I know what you’re all probably thinking…”
The word spoken softly, as the visuals come in a few moments after the audio. We immediately see one of the members of Enmity sitting in front of the camera, sitting on the black leather couch in the locker room shared by the group. Her hands are folded in front of her.
“Probably thinking that I wasted my time watching the promo that Jason decided to do just a couple hours following mine. The truth is that I did turn it on -- I saw the first couple seconds…up until the time that he asked when the last time he mentioned it. Mentioning that I’m still angry about my loss to him.”
Imitating someone talking with her hand gesture, she mouths the words “Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,” before finally bringing her hand down and letting her hand rest on her knee as she looks forward into the camera to resume speaking.
“When was the last time I heard you talking about it? That’s beside the point…considering I don’t know, since I don’t really follow your promos, and more importantly, I don’t take notes of your promos…why? Because it’s the same crap, after the same crap, after the same crap! You’re going to say that you’re right, I’m wrong, do your poses, talk about how sexy you are…and I’m going to vomit just at the thought of you.”
To mock Jason, she starts to do her own fake gag as she sticks her finger a little into her throat as if she would force herself to vomit. After doing this, she tries to sit still again, but slides towards the armrest of the chair and brings her legs up to the couch so she‘s laying across it.
“I’m too good for you, Jason. You got put into this match at the wrong time, the very wrong time!”
Her voice lifted, saying these words to Jason. The wrong time? The wrong time was obvious with the cold streak that Jason has been on…while Tara has been successful with the last six matches she’s been in.
“Let’s look to the facts of things…as they are, right now. You…lost to Spike West, as I’ve said. You couldn’t defeat Kris Destiny legitimately. You were bragging for at least two months about your win over me, talking about how it’s the biggest win of your career! You boasted about defeating Harold Campbell for the No Mercy Championship, someone that the newcomer ‘The Sovereign’ Chris Cobain -- who my partner, Angel, is going to defeat on Pyro this Monday -- defeated in his very first match inside the Xtreme Hardcore Federation…someone you couldn’t beat for almost four months…we’ve established just how pathetic Primal really is as a wrestler.”
She scoffed at the mentioning of Primal, and rolled her eyes while continuing.
“What next?”
With a quick shrug of her shoulders, she pauses to think about this. Of course, what came next was the most recent edition of Gastro…where Jason had to team with Mr. Mysterio to take on Reeshi and Primal.
“Oh yes, you get into some…crazy match with the two number one contenders for the X*Crown Championship, which somehow is Primal, and Reeshi -- who I have defeated on most encounters I’ve had with them! You want to know the one encounter where I didn’t win? It was leading up to the Decimation pay-per-view, where it wasn’t even my team that was pinned…Reeshi’s team didn’t even win…so I don’t have a loss to them on any encounter, and have a win over both of them on all but one encounter. You couldn’t defeat them, though.”
She snickers at the mentioning that Jason failed to defeat Reeshi or Primal…two people that Tara has almost always been successful against.
“You’re probably sitting at your home, counting the days down to Pyro as you cry…and get closer to another loss. This time to me. This time the biggest win of your career is going to become completely void. Because nobody is going to remember who won months ago, everybody is going to remember who won…now! Who won closer to the present. They’re going to remember that I defeated you on the edition of Pyro, where nobody would get involved this time around.”
She emphasized the word of “nobody” as she kept looking into the camera, and let herself get a short pause here to let Jason understand that there would be absolutely no one getting involved. No one in favor of Tara, no one in favor of Jason.
“What makes me so sure? What makes me so sure that I’m going to defeat you in the middle of that ring, Jason…this is a question that often gets asked of me. Its happened since I re-entered the world of professional wrestling, ever since I walked through those doors at Night of Champions! What makes me so sure? What made me so sure that I was going to defeat Reeshi in our first match back into the ring in a long time? What made me so sure that I was going to burn Rage? What made me so sure that I was going to defeat Platinum on multiple occasions, and then Mr. Happy?”
The names of all the people that she has defeated just on pay-per-views. Only one loss on a pay-per-view, and that was against MGK during her own hiatus. She brought her feet back down to the carpet in front of the couch, and leaned forward in her seat to look directly into the camera while she came to the next question.
“What…makes me…so sure?”
She repeated to herself very slowly, and her eyes looked down to think about this for a moment…everything she has just said just didn’t seem to be enough for her, while she slowly rubbed her palms together dwelling on this thought for a while longer. A few seconds passed before she lifted her eyes again to stare directly into the camera.
“It speaks for itself, Jason. All of my wins, all of the people that I’ve defeated -- Rage, Reeshi, Scorpion -- three legends in the XHF! Three names that everybody knows, and everybody would just wet themselves if they were given that chance to face them…three names that you couldn’t hold a candle to in that ring. Reeshi proved it on Friday night, as he carried his team to victory!”
Not entirely true, but she wasn’t about to give any credit to Primal.
“Do I need to say anymore about my career?”
She said while tilting her head slightly to the side, giving a confident smirk that she would defeat Jason this Monday.
“No, Jason. I don’t. All the answers are there in the record books, ever since I started my career with a victory over the famous Shadow Dragon to win my first championship inside the doors of the Xtreme Hardcore Federation! Ever since I managed to defeat Charlie Velez for the first time, and lose my belt -- just to win it back five days later against…a large athlete. A clumsy one, no better than Kuroi was, but still the strength that my ex brother-in-law had was remarkable. He was a far better athlete than even you.”
Her spirit seemed to rise as she was recalling her glory days…the days where she first started her career, and was already a champion not very long into it. Her head straightened out for a brief moment, tilting to the other side.
“It’s a fact that I am going to be entered into the XHF Hall of Fame. Not just the XHF Hall of Fame, but the Hall of Fame shared by the entire industry! People around the world know my name, they know me as the greatest wrestler to ever step foot into that ring…and this is a fact that you can’t accept. This is something that you think means nothing because of a win that you stole! That’s fine. You’ll learn, Jason.”
The words were spoken very slowly, and in a light tone as she finally got up from the couch fixing her shirt. The camera panned up so they could see her face and eyes again, not being able to see it after she had stood up for the brief moment.
“You’ll learn.”
Scene fades.
