A blonde-haired, blue-eyed man with broad shoulders steps through black curtains onto a stage with the logo of Northern Pro Wrestling draped behind him. The man's muscular physique is wrapped with a black shirt with green lettering that reads "One Man Dynasty". The man known as John Cavanagh steps forward to a row of microphones.
For the pions up here in the "Great White North" who may be a little too backwater to know just who I am--I was one of the final names drawn for the upcoming Lethal Lottery tournament here in Northern Pro Wrestling. I am John Cavanagh. Now, I hate to sit here and toot my own horn but maybe I need to let a few of you people in on the talent that you will all finally get to see in the middle of the squared circle right here in Canada! I may be debuting here in the NPW, this may be good old Johnnie Cav's first appearance in an XHF affiliate but trust me I've been around this business long enough to know what has to be done between those ropes to secure victory after victory. I've held championships everywhere I've gone but I'm pretty sure in a tournament like this that could be said about every other name that was just drawn to participate. What I will tell you about me is that I am one slippery bastard, I won't be used by my tag team partner to further their agenda in this tournament and in the same breath I won't allow any mind games to distract me from my ultimate goal. The same goal that every competitor in this tournament has, being crowned the first ever NPW North American Double Crown Champion!
Cavanagh stops for a moment and slicks back his hair before continuing.
I also refuse to sit here and believe that this tournament will be predicated on luck. Sure, there is obviously a slight bit of luck involved due to the random drawing of partnerships but luck only gets you so far. While I may not always be the partner type I do have to admit that I'm pretty damn happy with the way this draft worked out. John Cavanagh and Brad Swann on the same exact team, what is that? That is what I would call complete and utter dominance...two men who, on their own, would probably be on the short list of early front runners but when combined together--I'd say its the safest bet you have as far as a team qualifying for the battle royal portion of the Lethal Lottery. Two men with a common goal, dominance...two men with a common methodology, ruthlessness...what else could you really ask for when forging an unstoppable team? I can pretty much guarantee that it isn't the team that our eventual opponents were hoping to face. Some mammoth of a man, Joe Ghaven, and a man who I'm already familiar with in Adrian King were the two unlucky bastards drawn to face off against the Cavanagh-Swann tandem. A guy the size of Ghaven can't be taken lightly, and I already know that Adrian has what it takes to be a champion as a former EWF World Television Champion I'd be lying if I said this was going to be a walk in the park but I am going to be very blunt with this--Adrian King and Joe Ghaven can take all of their potential and all of their size and come the end of our match all that the skills they have will only be good enough to qualify for the second chance battle royal. Northern Pro Wrestling, The One Man Dynasty is here...and he ain't leaving without taking your top prize and strapping it around his waist.
John turns from the cameras and microphones and walks back behind the curtains.
