October had been a great month.
Just like that, MYOJIN had become a hot commodity within the wrestling world. His efforts in natches in other places managed to elevate his name- and word gets around fast. More than one would realize. Soon enough, he had been recieving calls and offers from different promotions- but none of them had caught his eye… Except one place that was ripe with a fresh generation of talent.
Though, not everyone shared his… enthusiasm. Especially considering how much he had been going through already in terms of title matches and… well, soon enough going to be climbing a forty feet tall cage for a championship.
“Kid, are you sure this is in your best interest? You're a champion and soon to be a double champion in other places, you don't want to overwork yourself and then be burned out on three shows. I know the traveling has to be rough on you.” Austin Rex, a management agent, retired professional wrestler, and good friend of the Shining Star asked. The grizzled older man wore a look of wariness. While MYOJIN could appreciate his concern, he felt as if it was unneeded as he looked down at a contract in his hands. One from FIRESIDE, sent from Anthony Caffrey or other staff personally inviting him to wrestle for the place. MYOJIN had signed it with his real name, Shouta Kuromiya.
Now, this caught his attention.
While Austin was right, MYOJIN was growing bigger and shining brighter across the world in other promotions. He currently was an inaugural champion from Wrestleworld and soon to be a world champion in Project: Honor, two places somewhat partnered with the XHF Network but not directly apart of it.
“You know I can handle this. It's a chance to finally make my mark on XHF in some shape or form-” MYOJIN responded with a pointed look. He wasn't going to be talked out of it. While he had originally joined J-ROK and still occasionally made appearances in Japan, he hadn't exactly been getting treated like he mattered that much. Not even getting booked on house shows- He almost felt disrespected but understood how large J-RO's roster was… And how easy it would be for him to get lost in the many competitors there.
FIRESIDE was new. FIRESIDE was refreshing. But most importantly? It seemed like a great time.
“I'm just sayin', you have a lot on your plate already. Wouldn't want to ruin-”
“Relax a little!” The Shining Star gave the grizzled vet a little smile, patting the taller man on the shoulder as he went to pack his bags with some flamboyant ring gear. “It'll be good for me to see what XHF is capable of. It's been around longer than most places, and FIRESIDE? It's filled with fighters with potential and ambition. That's exactly what I need. I can't allow myself to grow complacent- Plus, wouldn't it be fitting for me of all people to be the king of such a talented roster?”
Austin rolled his eyes. “That ego of yours is going to get you in trouble- But if this is what you wanna do, then so be it.” Rex was far from happy with the blonde deciding to hastily make such a decision- but he was just going to have to accept that.
“So, do you know who your first opponent is?”
“Mhm.” MYOJIN nodded with a confident grin as he dusted himself off. “His name's… Hayden, I'm pretty sure. Hayden Callahan.”
Making an introduction is always the hardest part of coming to a new place.
It's so easy to forget that people in one spot don't know who you are in the other. It's so easy to forget that your accomplishments in one.place simply don't matter in another. Especially to your opponent in your debuting match, who only really cares about beating you and moving on.
I've been thinking of it for a while. About how I want to properly introduce myself to FIRESIDE- And I realized… Well, I'm overthinking it. The audience will love whatever I do anyways.
That may sound arrogant- and I agree, it does.
But it's not wrong.
I'm MYOJIN, the Shining Star. A technical mastermind and a high-flying daredevil. The center of attention alway. The showoff. And most importantly? A future champion here.
I don't have to do some overly dramatic introduction when I let my skills speak for me. The audience, love or hate me, WILL respect me when I wow them with every move that I make. That's just a simple fact- and I'll be more than happy to put on an amazing show for them.
That's where you come in, Callahan. You aren't my opponent- you're simply an example.
Whereas I have been making my name known, showing that my future will be bright- You disappeared from SWAT after catching cold feet, trashed our employer's office, and now end up here in a match with me. Caffrey referred to this match as a punishment for you for good reason. That's because it is, I'm going to make you my stepping stone onto grander things.
You see, I didn't come here to play around with failures in different companies trying to make a comeback. I came here to fight against the best of the best to PROVE I'm the best. I've done more at 23 already than what you'll manage throughout your entire career.
So please, love. Don't be upset when you tap to me. It's only inevitable.
I hope you're ready to dance, I know I am.
