This RP was posted after deadline, so it shouldn't be counted. Even so, this is strictly meant to be CD and not count to the match itself. Enjoy!
We open on Dylan, packing his bag before heading to the arena for End of Days. He's wearing his wrestling tights and high tops, and a blank shirt. He's just about done packing when there's a knock at his room door. He turns towards the door.
Dylan: Who is it?
No response comes. A little freaked out, and also intrigued, he goes to the door and opens it. There's no one there. He goes to close the door, but notices a box on the floor addressed to him. He looks at it, picking it up and bringing it in. He looks at a clock, seeing he has just a little bit of time before he needs to leave to the... "arena." He is quick to produce a knife and severe the tape that is holding it closed.
He opens the flaps of the box and dumps its contents on his bed. Out falls a piece of cloth, a piece of paper and a large leather belt... too big to be a championship belt.
The first thing he grabs is the cloth. He lifts it up so see a mask, one he's very familiar with. One of his trademark Anomoly masks.
Dylan: Weird. Is it that stalker again? That Price wannabe?
He turns to the championship belt, picking it up and observing the front plate.
Dylan: The EPW World Heavyweight Championship. Missing from the vault. How did it...?
He trails off, finally picking up the piece of paper that fell out with the rest of the contents. He reads the contents, as a voiceover by Dylan overlaps it all.
Dylan (Voice Over): Well, I guess this was my earning Rob's respect. Maybe. Rob, he was definitely right about a lot of things. I'm an asshole. For a long time, I was a joke to the rest of the network. 2019? Not a good year for me. But I turned it around, and made 2020 my year.
Dylan (Voice Over): I started this year "under contract," I say with the loosest to air quotes, to AWF for the month of January. Short term contract because I didn't read the fine print before A Very AWF Christmas. As soon as I could, I bailed out and went to their biggest competitor - J-ROK, and I sought to make them the #1 company on the map. And I did exactly that! My global exposure, the time spent in the Rumble, winning Call to Arms, main eventing Night of Champions and All That Glitters. People saw they could sleep on us no more!
Dylan paces, reading the letter from Rob as he continues the voice over.
Dylan: But all of that, is now in the past, and I seek to make sure we stay atop the Network. I am going to go into End of Days, kick ass, and walk out having successfully retained the championship. I'll go to all the companies around the network, I'll defend them too! The XHF considers this a "global" championship, and for too long it's been a company title outside of the "Big 4." NO MORE! Now, it won't take tri-monthly events for the new up-and-coming places to get a fair shake!
Dylan (Voice Over): But just because I want to travel, to make everyone be seen, does not mean I am going to underestimate a single foe. I want everyone to know that just like Rob, I plan on taking the XCrown very, very seriously. Because I'm Dylan Black, and I'm gonna be the greatest XCrown Champion ever.
