GOLDEN GRAPPLER SIGNS
The scene opens up on a decent sized conference room. At one end of the room are the press, evenly spread as mandated by law, and keeping their eyes on the other side of the room. On that end of the room, a large table is set, with the XHF, NPW, and some sponsor logos on a wall behind it. Almost as if timed to happen when the cameras are rolling, from the door at the side of the room in walks a small contingent of suits. Their are a few almost familiar faces, but the two men getting the most attention are the central pair, the grizzled but respected face of NPW Owner, Gus Arnold, and beside him, in a suit that simply outclasses anything seen around him, is Nicholas Windsor. The two men sit in the center of the table, smiling for the cameras and its Gus who leans slightly forward first.
Gus Arnold "Good Afternoon all. It is my honor today to announce the newest signing to Northern Pro Wrestling. It's a man I've had my eye on for a while, and I know he can go on to do many great things within the NPW ring, and also bring us great acclaim within the XHF as well. He's still a little unknown right now, and he's fresh to the business, but I think this man has all the potential in the world, and I look forward to seeing him in action for many years to come. This is Nicholas Windsor."
Gus turns to look at Nicholas who merely smiles and nods, before sitting forward himself, adjusting the microphone in front of him.
Nicholas Windsor: "Thanks for those kind words, Gus. It is indeed a pleasure to be signing to NPW, a country that respects the monarchy and the Commonwealth, unlike those dirty uncultured apes from the United States. When I was first approached to join XHF, I heard some kind words out of places like SWAT, NLW, or even Ascension. But after a little thought and research, I soon realized that the best possible place for me was here, in Northern Pro Wrestling. It has tradition and class, and a respect for the business that I will endeavor to imitate. I have long held a deep respect for the sport of professional wrestling, and I am looking forward to proving myself within the squared circle, right here in Northern Pro Wrestling. Any questions?"
There's a small flurry of hands, before Nicholas points at one near the front.
Reporter 1: "Nicholas...."
Nicholas Windsor: "Thats Mr. Windsor to you. This is a formal occasion, so do try and mind your manners."
Reporter 1: "Right. Mr. Windsor. Sorry. I just wanted to ask, what are your goals for the immediate future here in NPW?"
Nicholas Windsor: "I should think thats rather obvious. It's the same goal as many others within NPW, and that is to climb to the top and claim the NPW Double Crown. I understand there has already been a Lethal Lottery drawing, but I would hope I would still be eligible for the Second Chance battke royal. But I guess time will tell on that. Next question?"
Reporter 2: "Mr. Windsor, they recently announced your debut match for Lethal Lottery night two against Andrew Brookes. What are your initial thoughts on the match?"
Nicholas Windsor: "Well, obviously I barely have had a chance to look into him yet. From what I have already been told, and can gather, he is a fellow Englishman, and that means this match should be a good one. I look forward to a good match, and a chance to show the NPW fans what true wrestling looks like. That will be all for now, thank you."
Windsor now turns to look at Gus, who shifts forward on his seat, sliding over a folder and opening it before flipping to a back page and signing on the dotted line. Gus turns the folder towards Nicholas, who glances over it and then signs it himself. The two men stand up, sharing a handshake and smiling for the cameras as the conference comes to an end.
