Mongo the Destroyer, Oh-Oh, and 2 more like this

A blonde haired man with blue eyes is seen seated on a wooden bench with a white painted brick wall behind him. The man wears a black shirt with a large shamrock and green lettering that reads “Celtic Club”. The man smiles at the camera and we realize that we see Chris “Trigger” Cavanagh.
I keep sitting back and wondering what it is that brought my brother to sign with a promotion like this--or a promotion like the FCPW that I "represent" for that matter. I mean, who the hell wants to travel from the States to Canada every now and again to compete in this barren icebox? I’ll continue to wonder it and I really don’t think I’mn ever going to understand his decision but ya know what? Northern Pro Wrestling is going to be signing a few paychecks for me during this Cruiserweight Cup so maybe I oughta shut up about his decision making process...eh?
Trigger grins at his “clever” insult of “eh” to the Canadian audience.
The Cruiserweight Cup--a tournament to crown the number one Cruiserweight, not just in Northern Pro Wrestling, but in the entirety of the XHF Network. Seems like a title that should have been bestowed on me about a decade ago! I may be returning to the ring right now but its not like Trigger Cavanagh ain’t been around the world and back again. That’s right, back in the day--wherever Johnnie Boy went to wrestle, Trig wasn’t too far behind. The States, of course...British Isles, been there and dominated the limey bastards! Asia? I’ve seen the Land of the Rising Sun and just like my nation’s “greatest generation” I made those bastards surrender in the ring too! Canada though--other than a few tours in other promotions, this is uncharted territory, thanks to that and my absence from the squared circle for the last five years or so I’d say there is a pretty damn good chance that I’m going to be facing off against some people I don’t know and who have no fucking idea who me or the rest of The Celtic Club happen to be.
Trigger pauses for a moment, he outstretches his arms and lets out a grunt. Trigger lifts his arms to his head and cracks his neck to either side.
I am Chris Cavanagh...I am the younger brother of the Cavanagh family but that just makes me all the more dangerous. See, my entire career...no fuck that, my entire life, I’ve been living in the shadows of my father and my brother--I know what its like to be looked over and keep prodding along and doing my own god damned thing! That is exactly what I have to do in this tournament. See, John, he’s always been the bigger brother--he can’t drop down to fight against these little Cruiserweights like I can. John, he’s more concerned with making Andy Donahue into a monster or finding a way to assert his dominance as THE GUY no matter where we go. Me? I don’t need to be numero uno, I don’t need to be Capo de tutti Capi--all I need is to be shown the proper respect that I deserve.
Trigger reaches into his pocket and produces a silver cigarette case. Trigger pulls a cigarette out, the green lettering of the word KOOL is visible as he flicks his Bic and the flame engulfs the tip of the cigarette producing a glistening cherry. Trig takes a drag then inhales, he holds his breath momentarily before exhaling through his nostrils.
Shown the proper respect that I deserve. Most of you guys won’t know this but I’ve been a Cruiserweight Champion and Tag Team Champions in more promotions than you people have been employed by. I don’t need to come here and prove myself to you buffoons, but I came here to do just that. I don’t need to be the 2021 winner of the NPW Cruiserweight Cup--but I want to be. I don’t need to walk over to the winner’s payout window after each match I have in this tournament, but you can bet your ass that is the goal and that will be the ultimate outcome of this tournament! And it all starts on Day 1. The first day of this tournament, I find my first victim...Adrien Cochrane, a free agent. So, Adrien, it seems like you and I have something in common--neither of us are employed by the NPW and by extension neither of us have any loyalties to this piss ant promotion. Well, all the more reason for one of us, specifically myself, to waltz into this tournament and win the whole damn thing. Come on Adriend, how angry are those pions in the locker room going to feel after I, the outsider that isn’t even signed to a contract, takes home a clean sweep of their Cruiserweight Cup? I’m sorry that all needs to begin with me exposing you as the inferior wrestler but, shit man, somebody had to do it! Then the assault on the established hierarchy of this promotion continues on Day 2 when Trigger Cavanagh takes that prick Lord Dominicus and makes the entirety of the Maple Leaf landmass feel bad for a man they hate when I not only beat him but entirely destroy the aura he has made for himself so far in the NPW. Huh, now that I think about it--this sounds like a whole shit ton of fun--maybe I should thank my brother and his decision making process. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be able to come here and kick the shit out of all of you so-called “contenders”. Thanks Johnnie Boy!
Trigger puts the cigarette between his lips and takes another drag, the cherry brightens as the scene cuts to static.
