From DailyWrestling.com:
Jay Stevens, of Northern Pro Wrestling, hosted a Q&A with his fans via Instagram Live today ahead of his second appearance in the NPW Cruiserweight Classic, here are some highlights:
How does it feel to finally get rid of Bloodline?
“It’s a surreal feeling. I didn’t realize how much of my life they were eating up until they were gone. I can only imagine how Dusty and Kuma and others feel as they were in the fight a lot longer than I was. But we finally won the war and we can all breathe again.”
You’re going to fight your uncle, Ty Walker, in the tournament, how do you feel about that?
“It’s going to be a spectacle, I can say that much. We faced off in the Classic last year and I let the size of the moment overwhelm me. This year, I’m ready to rise to the occasion and square off with a man that has my undying respect. But we’re still going to go in there and kick each others ass.”
What do you think of people like Gebin, Eron Hunter, Lord Dominicus and the rest?
“I can respect them as talented people but it’s a difficult balance for me to take them seriously as competitors. I don’t want to be dismissive of their talents, but the way they carry themselves and their antics make me believe they don’t take this seriously. This is a serious business. If you don’t treat it that way, you’re going to get hurt.”
Why so serious?
“Haha, I can do this with a smile. I love my job. I am forever grateful to be able to do what I do. But I take it seriously because I’ve put in the time and I’ve seen the alternative. I mean, I grew up around some of the craziest people who ever graced the ring. Two men known as much for their activities outside the ring as their accolades in it. When the bell rang, they were always one-hundred percent focused on victory. But there were times where their lives outside the ring greatly hindered their success inside the ring. That’s not going to happen to me.”
