It's a whole new world we live in... do do doo do doooo doo...
Oh, sorry, that song is so catchy! Welcome everyone to the Johto Region here in the Pokémon World! I am Professor Elm, one of the top researchers into Pokémon abilities.
And that's part of the reason I'm here with all of you. After all, what better way to learn about Pokémon special abilities than to hang out with all of you second-generation Pokémon! There seems to be quite a collection of you little creatures here with us! And it appears a handful of you are just ready to go ahead and evolve soon! I can't wait to see how evolving will change your abilities since a handful of you are starting off completely vanilla.
But there seems to be some trouble brewing, I'm afraid to admit. We've been sensing some disturbances coming from the Whirl Islands. The whirlpools guarding the islands have become increasingly volatile and dangerous. Some believe it could be that something has happened to the Guardian of the Seas and that could maybe even affect some other Pokémon as well. There's rumors that sleeping somewhere in the Ilex Forest is a legendary grass-type Pokémon that would be able to quell the Sea Guardian, but alas, it is rumored to still be asleep. Either way, it would be best to make sure we figure something out so that we can return peace to the wonderful Johto region!
But first, let's go over some rules...
1. During every day phase, which will last 72 hours long or until a lynch is achieved, all of you will VOTE: PLAYER to try to vote that player to be eliminated from the game. Lynch will be majority. I won't be enforcing automatic lynches for players with the lead votes. No lynches will occur if the town cannot come to an agreement.
2. This isn't Adrien's cool three legendary bird faction party like the first game (Though I totes could have done it with Entei, Suicune, and Raikou...). Nope. I got a mafia. I got a town. I might or might not have a third-party. You got baddies to find. Town wins when they got everyone out the game. Mafia wins if they equal the town at any point in the game. Simple enough.
3. While my cool recruiting to different factions did not return, you know what did? EVOLUTIONS!! Please note: evolutions are NOT alignment indicative. If the species can evolve in Gen 2, it could evolve in this game, regardless of what side they are on. Notice how I said Gen 2. If you evolve in a future generation, you're not evolving here. No Togekiss, Honchkrow, Mamoswine, Mismagius, Ambipom, Porygon-Z, Weavile, Gliscor, or Yanmega. Some of you don't evolve. Talk to Game Freak about that. It's not my fault Pokémon such as Delibird and Milktank are single-stages! So how do you evolve? Well, if you look at your role PM, I broke down the exact conditions in which you evolve. Hit those conditions and you'll evolve. I'll hint that someone evolved in the game thread and then send you a brand new role PM with your new Pokémon and powers. I recommend evolving as quickly as you can.
4. See this lovely blue color? Don't use it. It's mine! It's the hex color I use for Adrien in my RPs.
5. Don't direct quote your role PM. Don't talk outside the game thread unless you have an ability to do so. Don't edit posts. Basic rules that apply to every mafia game but making sure you know this applies here too.
6. I do accept night actions via PM on the forums or on Discord. Whatever is best for you. Hell, if we are talking on a voice call and there aren't any other ears around, you can tell me that way too. If you have my damn Facebook, I will even count that! I got a spreadsheet. I'll keep it organized.
7. Need my attention in the game thread. BOLD that sucker!!
8. I will write little write-ups for days and nights. It will include Pokémon in them. I will bold every species of them. Guess what though? Doesn't mean they are in the game. They might be though...
9. Last but not least: have fun. Remember this is a game. We are here to have fun. Let's keep it that way.
Annnnnnyway, sign-ups!! Yes!! I have 18 slots, but I know that's not a realistic number to hit. I did make that many roles to start off with. If we run a game of 13 or whatever, it's fine! If we get more than 18, I have a few more Pokémon I think I can integrate into the game. There are, after all, 100 Gen 2 Pokémon. No worries!
3. DT - Espeon
5. Steele - Umbreon
6. Dresden - Chikorita -> Bayleef -> Meganium
9. Cross - Natu -> Xatu
14. Jesse - Cyndaquil -> Quilava -> Typhlosion
