Encounter in a Bar

(The bar is full of patrons playing pool, cards or are just drinking and eating or listening to the jukebox playing country music or just simply talking and watching the sporting events on television. The door opens and two individuals come in dressed in black wearing shades the bar grows quiet as they look around.)

Kono:  "There was noise earlier and now it's silence."

Niko:  "Strange reaction to patrons."

Kono:  "Seems we are at the right place."

Niko:  "Let's ask this person behind this seated barrier."

(They go up to the Bartender.)

Bartender:  "What can I do for you?"

Niko::  "We just want to get something to eat."

Bartender:  "You came to the right place."

Niko:  "Really."

Bartender:  "Best food in town."

Niko:  "Great.  We could use something to eat."

Kono:  "We could use some sustenance."

Niko:  "So what do you have to eat."

Bartender:  "You ever try our world famous steak and fries."

Kono:  "So this establishment usually has visitors all over the earth?"

(The Bartender looks at Kono.)

Niko:  "He's just making a literal comment and doesn't mean what he says."

Bartender:  "Yeah like some of the things bar patrons say."

Niko:  "Yeah I can understand that."

Bartender:  "So you want to try the steak and fries."

Kono:  "Yeah we'll both try your steak and fries."

Bartender:  "Coming up."

(They look around and take seats in a corner where there is a television near them on a wall broadcasting the sports report.)

Sportscaster:  "In other sports news NPW's Cruiserweight Championship continues with the top four battling for the right to be the top cruiserweight in NPW.  One of the match ups is rookie newcomer Niko of the NPW Imperial Crown Tag team Champions The Dark Stars facing off against Chris Trigger Cavanaugh in rematch from the second round of the tournament."

Kono:  "He didn't truly defeat you brother gladiator."

Niko:  "Look I lost in that round and I'm still in the tournament and the rules are it's a round robin so I managed to get into it and thus I get my rematch with Chris Trigger Cavanaugh.  This time around I'm going to be twice as ready and I'm going to be going on to win this tournament."

Sportscaster:  "The betting line on this match is a lopsided 25-1 odds in favor of Cavanaugh.  He's considered a veteran in wrestling and has been predicting that he's going to make his opponent beg for mercy."

(Kono grows angry.)

Kono:  "You hear that insult from your opponent."

Niko:  "Look I'm not going to let him get into my head.  I've been training harder than I ever had before and like I said I'm going to be even more ready than ever before and things will be more different."

Sportscaster:  "Speaking of NPW their Imperial Crown tag team champions along with their wives Dark Novas are vying for the XHF Tag Team Champions against current champions Purple Emperors.  Needless to say he odds are 50-1 against Dark Stars and a whopping 100-1 against Dark Novas.  Why NPW chose these two tag teams is quite questionable." 

(Kono looks about to explode but Niko places his shoulder on his arm to calm I'm down as the Waitress comes with their food.)

Waitress:  "Here's your meal and some of the best brew in this region."

Kono:  "Brew?"

Niko:  "She means beer.  I apologize since he's more into sports drinks and never tasted beer before."

Waitress: "Then you're going to enjoy this brand."

Niko:  "I can't wait to taste it."

(The Waitress leaves and they begin eating.)

Niko:  "The owner was right about this meal."

Kono:  "We should come here more often and with our wives."

(They take a sip of the beer and seem to enjoy it.)

Niko:  "This beer isn't bad either."

Kono:  "Tastes like the drink from our world but less potent."

(They taste the fries and are enjoying the taste when they hear a commotion and look to see a couple of Biker toughs messing with the Waitress.)

Niko:  "Why do humans do such stupid things like dishonoring a female."

Kono:  "Finally an excuse to let some steam out."

(They go over and gt into the two Biker Tough's faces.)

Kono:  "Are these two bothering you."

Biker Tough:  "She's wanting a good time and we're going to give her what she wants."

Niko:  "Look we don't want no trouble but neither does she.  So why don't you just let her go and enjoy your beers and leave as if this didn't happen."

Biker Tough:  "How about we enjoy the woman after we beat your asses."

(Niko and Kono look at each other and sigh before nodding.)

Niko:  "Very well but we warned you."

(They go outside but the Biker Toughs start beating them up and are kicking them before laughing.)

Biker Tough:  "Aww look at those knights in shining armor."

(They laugh as The Dark Stars get up and glare as if they weren't hurt.)

Kono:  "We gave you your fun and now it's time for ours."

Niko:  "Yeah it's time to slap these nonhumans around for their injustice."

(They grip them by their throats and lift them up with arm hand while smashing their fists into their stomachs and crotch before walking over to the road and chokeslamming them down hard.  They bend down on their knees and look don at them.)

Niko:  "Now why did you provoke us when you could have left that waitress alone.  Oh and by the way we heard you were trashing us when that sportscast was playing on the screen and we don't like it one bit."

Kono:  "Another thing unhuman beings.  When you mess  with The Dark Stars especially with Niko here and you will be getting an even worse lesson.  Now you better be gone before were come out again after enjoying our meal.  If you don't we'll do worse than this."

(They go back inside to resume eating their meal as the scene slowly fades to black.)
