“Zolothach” Tabitha Osborne gives one last look at her room in the abandoned building in Tokyo that she had been staying at. The Kawasaki Warehouse.
She looks around the room, everything she owns packed up into a backpack and a rolling travel bag. She looks like a homeless person about to pick up and move camp with her bedroll on top of her backpack.
She walks over to one of several windows in her room. This window, however, is special. It glows a faint green and allows her to see into the world as it really is. Spirits and otherworldly monsters float by, just outside of the sight of the natural eye. The window allows her to see the true followers of her master, Cthulhu, for whom they are. Not that there have been many true followers walking by the derelict building. The occasional child of Cthulhu floats past, though the Great Old Ones lay sleeping. They are bound in deathless sleep until the stars are right.
A throat being cleared interrupts her introspection into her own religion. She turns around the green glow of the window fading back to normal, to see Randy Angel standing in the doorway.
Angel: I heard you were leaving us…
Randy Angel motions weakly to the luggage that Tabitha has collected in the essentially empty room. Tabitha smiles, motioning for Randy to come to the couch that she and Randy had procured from a college dorm when the schools had let out. Randy sits down on the couch with Tabitha sitting next to him.
Osborne: I was waiting to tell you this. I’m leaving Japan and Jrok. I’ve signed on with Fireside and am getting an apartment in Philadelphia.
Randy stares off into the distance, though it appears that he’s looking at Tabitha’s luggage. He looks back at her when he finally says something.
Angel: But, you’re the Straight Edge champion? They’re going to want you to be defending that title.
Osborne: I come back in March to defend the title. It’s not like Jrok books me regularly anyway. I can visit here and stay in Philly.
Randy nods, mostly to himself, and pulls a flask from his hip pocket. He takes a pull from it before offering a nip to Tabitha, who refuses. He puts the flask back away in his pocket.
Angel: Well, I mean, you do what you gotta do and all. We will miss you something awful, or at least I will.
Osborne: See, this is the point where I was going to come to find you anyway.
Randy cocks his head, looking at Tabitha like “What?”.
Angel: You were going to come to find me before you left? To say goodbye?
Osborne: No. You don’t get booked for every month at Jrok either. Why waste all of this time buying expensive imported boozes when it would be local in Philly?
Randy’s eyes go wide when he realizes what this means.
Angel: You would ship me booze from Philly so that we, I mean I, could avoid paying for the expensive import costs? That’s totally awesome!
Tabitha blinks in temporary confusion as she reasons out what Randy is talking about.
Osborne: No!
Angel: Oh, you won’t help me get drunk?
Osborne: Yes? Wait, no? Maybe? I mean the apartment I’m getting is a two-bedroom! I mean come to Philadelphia to come live with me! I mean it’s a long commute to Japan and you would be better served getting on with Fireside too, but...yeah.
Randy is taking another sip from his hip flask as Tabitha says these words. He nearly does a spit take, but manages to swallow the precious, precious booze.
Angel: You want me to live with you?
Osborne: We already live in the same building, share the same bathroom and kitchen. This would just be a smaller, and less abandoned, setting. Regular paychecks working for Fireside instead of the every once in a while that we get from Jrok. What do you think?
Angel: I think that-
The scene fades to black to make you, the audience, wait another day for the answer.
