SWAT Team, Oh-Oh, and 1 more like this

(So, rather than Gaz Maybury spending his money from quite frankly beating two people like they were a Salvation Army drum outside a shop at christmas on something clever like a room for the night, he spent it all on beer. His original intention was a bar, but he wasn't paying those prices. But a superstore is a wonderful thing. Guinness, packet of fags, and a load of plastic bags to make into a shelter between some big old trees.
And while he looks around the trees, he sees something that catches his eye)
Gaz: Oh, you poor fucker.
(It's a Jack Russell Terrier. Rope around it's scruff on one side, the other side wrapped around the tree)
Gaz: Fucks sakes.
(Maybury fumbles for a lighter)
Gaz: Give us a second pal
(The dog shakes and panics)
Gaz: I'm on your side pal, hang on.
(Maybury finds his lighter, and burns the rope. It catches aflame, and the dog shakes and panics harder)
Gaz: Don't worry cariad, have faith, nearly there!
(The rope frays, Maybury pulls the rope apart where it was made weak by the heat. The rope splits in two, but the dog stays in place. Scared. Maybury slowly approaches the terrier)
Gaz: It's ok pal, I say, It's ok. I'd give you a sausage mate, but I've not got one...
(Maybury stoops to the Dog's level)
Gaz: Fuck. You're greying.
(Maybury offers a stroke of the head, the dog gingerly accepts)
Gaz: You're going grey. You were left out here weren't you pal? You've gotta be, what, 13 or 14 years of age. Too old to chase the rabbits, too old to be a pet, and they fucking tied you up here. Past it. Old. Done for.
(Maybury strokes the dogs side of the neck and it starts to nuzzle.)
Gaz: I think we're in the same boat, aren't we lad? Aren't we lad?
(The dog rolls onto it's back)
Gaz: Or girl, even. I can't leave you here though. C'mon!
(Maybury takes the remainder of the rope and tries to fashion it into a lead for the bitch. The bitch sits down, refuses to move, and bares her teeth)
Gaz: I don't blame you. Fuck that then. Watch this.
(Maybury takes the remains of the rope, and sets them alight. The Bitch stands by Maybury's side)
Gaz: And I thought I was going to be alone. I want to be alone. Fuck off.
(Maybury sits on the ground cross legged to watch the rope burn. The Bitch jumps on his x shaped laps and stares at the flame)
Gaz: Two peas in a pod, aren't we? Both out to pasture. Everyone forgets you when you're out of site, out of mind, and not what you were. I dunno why I'm talking to you like this anyway. You're a fucking dog. Well not a dog, you've got a foof, you're a bitch.
(The Bitch rolls onto her back for belly rubs. Maybury obliges)
Gaz: I'm not leaving you here. You're coming with me.
(Maybury tries to pick The Bitch up, he's a strong man, but he goes dead weight and bares teeth when he puts his hands around her body)
Gaz: Ah, fuck you anyway. If it's like that. Fuck you then., Try and do a fucking dog a favour...
(Maybury walks off, but after 100 yards stops and looks down. The Bitch is there by his right leg. Sitting. Loyal)
Gaz: Fuck off.
(Another 100 yards. Another look. The Bitch is there. Right leg. Sitting)
Gaz: Taking the piss now. If you're coming, you're coming.
(Maybury tries to pick the Bitch up. She bites his hand. Then goes back to the side of his leg. Sitting. Loyally)
Gaz: My god. I've realised. You're a meta reflection of myself. You're my insecurities about ageing, and you being tied up was my personal shackles of not being able to do it anymore. And you being The Bitch was my unconquered love of my ex wife. The biting of my hand was anybody trying to take liberties thinking they can easily knock off an old injured man. But I think I am ready. My mind is where it should be now. It's clearing up everyday, other than issues with Jack Russell Terriers, and I will be, no-one can stop me, being NPW Double Crown Champion within 6 months. It'll be fact.
Now, I know I said I wanted to go it alone. And I'll happy leave anyone human in the dirt. But can I bring you, with me on my travels? I mean, you're at my leg now, sitting confident and strong and ready to be at my side like a furry subconscious should be. But I can't call you The Bitch. How about Lottie Dog?
Lottie: Woof!
(Maybury and Lottie Dog walk together into the forest)
And while he looks around the trees, he sees something that catches his eye)
