*The audio crackles as we get a dawn-of-filmaking 5-4-3-2-1 black and white count down before some big band music kicks in and a radio-friendly narrator boisterously takes over the audio.*
*The very same is presented on the screen, it would appear that color will not be an option as the hazy video quality is still in monotone. One would suppose the idea is to give the image of an old newsreel that’d play before movies before any of our parents were born*
*The visual goes from an external shot of the Scotiabank Centre to Lord Dominicus accepting his key to the city of Mississuaga after saving a girl from getting kidnapped (accidentally).*
*The film and audio skips a little*
*We quickly get to see clips of them, the editing was clearly done by somebody in the Dominicus camp because we see LD holding both the NPW North American Double Crown and Cruiserweight titles high above his head triumphantly, Eron shaking hands with Jay Stevens after winning the tournament. Meanwhile JJ and Cav are shown getting kicked out of the XHF Network Rumble (by Adrien Cochrane).*
*Footage plays from the April 13th show that does in fact show JJ doing that- but that footage is near meaningless since it’s silent and accompanied by the big band music of the newsreel.*
*We’re regaled with a series of moving pictures with John hanging out with Trigger, Andy, and various other members of his crew….so…..yes? Who edited this?*
*We’re given quick shots of LD teaming with Brad Swann and John Cavanagh- for real who’s editing this?- as well as him trying to team with Evil-Borg at End of Days and of course making plans with Dinosaur Bones and Big Bone (his Bad to the Bone partners).*
*Sure enough, our black and white news crew finds LD on a tennis court swatting back slow shots that are making it over net. We can’t see who he’s playing with, but clearly it’s versus somebody. Dominicus is amazingly wearing all of his swag, from the Triple Crown crown, to the bandoleered DC and Cruiser titles, and even the oversized Midnight Claw gauntlet.*
*Although the narrator is clearly a voiceover, Dominicus seems to hear him and waves off his opponent and begins walking toward the camera. A ball quickly flies at his head and he flinc- wait no, false alarm, the film skips and now he’s sitting in a canvas chair next to the court sipping a drink that’d almost certainly be brightly colored if not for the black and white tone of the video. The music switches to something more home-like, with a friendly stringed instrument taking the lead*
*Finally we get to hear a sound other than the narrator as our previously semi-silent feature becomes a “talkie” so to speak.*
LD: Haha, well that’s a great question. As it turns out I AM preparing. You see, Eron and I need to be able to go back and forth with rapid movements as we tag in and out in our match against the lizard man with an “x” on his head now and NPW’s favorite thug.
LD: At least on my end I don’t see a problem there. Granted, while I’ve been able to win everything I touch, which is why I currently have both the NPW North American Cruiserweight Championship and the Double Crown titles, Eron has…..not gotten any of that. However, he did lead in his bracket of the tournament and eventually overcame all of the challenges there. I am more than happy to extend a doomstick of evil friendship to vanquish our bottom-feeding foes.
LD: Well, I haven’t really been keeping score, but I think I’m up like twenty-five-love or something. There’s no need to count wins and losses when Lord Dominicus is around, just know he’s going to do what Lord Dominicus does.
LD: Win, pure and simple. So whether it is defending one of my championships in front of the fans, or tagging up with a rag-tag cruiserweight like Eron Hunter, there’s always another DominiWin on the sidelines waiting to be displayed.
LD: Anytime, now if you excuse me, I need to make sure my backhand is in shape
*He laughs as we get a few more shots of him hitting a tennis ball over the net (though not a single backhand shot)*
*The music comes to an end as we fade out.*
