A hand absently wipes a thin layer of dust from a slab of marble, and carved on that marble with gold-trimmed letters are the words 'William, 8th Baron Godfrey'. A hand lays a rose on it, and then Sinclair Godfrey steps back. Around her is a ornate crypt, and she walks over to sit on simple stairs at the top of which a door shows a square of hazy light. She adjusts her coat around her, and then frowns.
Clearly, she is agitated.
'There is my father, Rios. He never understood me. He didn't understand why his daughter who wanted for nothing, couldn't be happy with all that gave her. He didn't understand why I wanted more from life. My father wanted me to marry some aristocrat, hold charity balls, go to afternoon tea, and raise fat pink babies. He didn't understand why I wanted to fight, why it meant so much to me.' Sinclair sighed, and she shook her head.
'You want to talk to Donzig, Isabel? Do you even understand what that means? Do you even understand what it is like to hear the voice of the Scourge in your head? We attacked your friends because this is a game, Isabel. They are a weakness, and a weakness exists to be exploited. We wanted you angry, because angry people make mistakes. Angry people get clumsy, and act like fools.' Sinclair slid to her feet, and she slowly walked across the floor with it's scattered dead leaves before she spoke again.
'Or maybe you have a thing for Donzig? After all your sex life is the talk of the XHF all of a sudden, or lack there of.' Sinclair sniffed, and she frowned. 'I don't think you're his type, Isabel. He likes his girls a little more unstable. But don't worry I will make you and Commandrix a promise. At Shockwave? I will walk down to that ring alone, I won't bring Donzig or anyone else with me. Because when I beat both of you in the center of that ring, and they hand me that Amazons title? I want there to be no doubt that I did it. And I did it alone.'
Sinclair paced across the small marble room, nodding to herself as she was still quite annoyed. And she paused to adjust her coat, and she tilted her head before she spoke again. 'In my life, only one person ever. Ever. Didn't mock me, believed in me, and treated me with a little bit of respect. Only one. And the only thing he ever asked in return was loyalty, to be at his side. And you. You, Isabel. You insulted him. You mocked him.'
Her voice tightened with anger, and she turned to glare at the camera. 'Donzig is many things, Isabel. He has many talents, and many gifts. But he also has flaws, and one of those flaws is he takes everything personally. He takes every word spoken against him as an insult. And so when this all started between us, and you put my name of your lips? He took that as an insult.'
Sinclar frowned, her head tilting. 'Bloodied Fox? Insult'
The head tilted the other way. 'Devon D'Andre? Insult.'
Again the head tilted. 'Vodka Fizz?'
And the other way. 'Daku Suzuki?'
She sniffed, and rolled her shoulders. A hand lifting as she shook her head. 'But you? I am going to deal with you and your insolence first hand, Isabel. I already beat Commandrix, and you can run the math all you want? This match is in my favor! But here's the thing.'
She walked away, sweeping towards the stair as she lifted her coat behind her. Spreading it out before letting it fall, and she glanced over her shoulder before turning again as she stood on those stairs. 'Donzig thinks that everyone is just like him. He thinks that everyone thinks just like Donzig. That is why there is no room for mercy, or empahy, or pity. There is no room for weakness, and every insult has to be repaid with strength. Because if you don't? They will drag you down, Isabel. Like wolves.'
Sinclair arched a brow, and she walked up a step. 'To ascend, requires you to become something more than human, but also less.' A finger lifted, and she paused. 'But I try to rise beyond his teachings, beyond his flaws, and to me? That is to keep things professional, to keep things business. But Isabel--'
She paused, and her eyes narrowed as they flashed with anger. '--You and I? This is getting personal, real personal. So sing your silly songs, champ. And throw out your vapid little insults, and get your likes on Insta! Because at Shockwave? I am going to bury you.'
Clearly, she is agitated.
