Next Level Wrestling Presents
ASCENDENCY XVII
LIVE from the Avron B Fogelman Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana
June 26th, 2021
Before the show we find BB Gunn in his corduroy uniform standing behind his new workspace, the ringside bar. He is checking off a list as he points to each bottle clearly doing inventory to prepare for the event. He is startled when he looks up and see the teenage thorn in his side El Rey.
BB Gunn: I told you, I am not in charge anymore.
El Rey: I know, that is why I’m here. You should be.
BB Gunn: What?
El Rey: I need you to take your job back.
BB Gunn: I thought you of all people would enjoy the new management.
El Rey: Enjoy? Why would I enjoy this? I went in to his office today to try and get around this G1 Tournament…
BB Gunn: Of course you did.
El Rey: …and he wouldn’t talk to me until I tried his lemonade. It was not lemonade. I know lemonade, and this was not lemonade, and because I wouldn’t drink it he wouldn’t talk to me.
BB Gunn: I know it’s demeaning but I lost the match. It's done.
El Rey: Well fix it.
BB Gunn: I can’t just “fix it”... he won the right.
El Rey: There’s always ways around it.
BB Gunn: I checked all the contracts. They’re iron clad. He’s in charge.
El Rey: That’s your problem right there. You’re trying to do this the right way. A guy like Blow, he doesn’t do anything the right way. It’s time to think like him, like me, and find a way out of this mess.
BB Gunn: ...What do you propose?
El Rey looks around over his shoulder.
El Rey: Let’s go somewhere a little more discreet.
El Rey leads the former General Manager away from his new position ringside and we cut back to the action.
'Obey' hits the sound system and the camera pans over the Avron B Fogelman Arena, the energy from the fans at its peak even if the arena is still festooned with the chosen decorations of one Joe Blow. There's more signs showing support for the crowd's favorites than ever, even including some for the visitors joining NLW's main roster for the G1. As the multi-colored lights swirl and dance over the crowd, there's a few more quick panning shots before the camera cuts to the announce position.
Dan Simmons: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the first night of NLW G1 action here on Ascendancy! I'm Dan Simmons and joining me as always is Tommy West--and Tommy, have we ever had a night as jam-packed ahead of us as this one?
Tommy West: I don't think so, Dan! Every time that I think we've hit the peak of what we can do for episodes of Ascendancy, we out-do ourselves. Not only do we have four killer match-ups for the round robin matches starting us off, but both our singles titles are up for grabs!
Dan Simmons: Savannah Sunshine's going to have her hands full trying to take the Southern States Championship off of Graham Baker, and that's saying nothing about how, in our main event, Tommy Kelly is set to defend the NLW Heavyweight Championship against... well...
Tommy West: I know,l I don't like saying it either, but may as well rip the Band-Aid off. Tommy Kelly will be defending his title against our...esteemed General Manager, Joe Blow!
Dan Simmons: Here, let's wash that bad taste out of our mouth by talking about two other esteemed champions joining us tonight for G1 action. Our very own Ricardo Goon will be going up against AWF's Prestige Champion in the Awkward One, Adam Sanders!
Tommy West: Not only that, but the Shining Star--and XHF's current X*Crown Champion!--MYŌJIN will be squaring off against Ryan Young in the latter's first match back in quite some time!
Dan Simmons: We're also gonna see the storied and heated rivalry continue between El Rey and Big Bone as they square off one-on-one! Will El Rey get his win back?
Tommy West: Speaking of wins, Waylon Kirk's hungry for one after the New South's loss on the last episode of Ascendancy--and Felix is looking to continue his winning ways! Only one man can come out on top, so let's get to the action to find out who can pull off that all-important first round win!
MATCH ONE
G1 TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND MATCH
Felix vs. Waylon Kirk
Despite the obvious clash of attitudes, Felix and Kirk’s fighting styles are not as dissimilar as one might think. But the difference is highlighted early, as Kirk goes for a collar-and-elbow lock up to start, as you do, and suddenly, before it gets locked in, Felix has thrown him over his shoulder with a Morote Seoi-nage, one of his many Judo throws. Kirk is more cautious as he rolls up and approaches again, but Felix manages another throw, getting his hips deep and lifting with a Tsurikomi-goshi. He maintains wrist control to turn him over, but Kirk ducks the Buzzsaw kick, catching Felix as he spins on his pivot foot and lifting him for a big Alabamaslam! He gets a short two count out of that, but Kirk is much more aggressive in his attacks after that, not giving Felix openings to spin and throw him around. That doesn’t mean Felix is defenseless. After several big slams, including another spinebuster, as Felix pushes himself up, Kirk charges right in, looking for a big clothesline or something, but Felix catches him with a Side Slam Backbreaker, then keeps control to throw him in an Uranage! He goes for a cover of his own but only gets two also. He tries to transition from the cover to an Anaconda Vice, but Kirk knows that’s bad news and quickly scrambles, wrapping himself around the bottom rope.
The crowd boos, but he’s safe, and the official has to back Felix off. Felix obliges immediately, and Kirk responds by charging as soon as he has his feet under him. Felix nails several straight Tiger strikes, then tries to pull Kirk down in a crossface, but Kirk struggles and blocks the attempt, and after a few moments of failing, Felix changes tact, releasing that only to grab Kirk under the leg and whip him around in a Sidewinder Suplex! Another pin attempt, another near fall. Knowing Kirk will anticipate his submissions, he stands up, assuming his stance, and as Kirk wearily pushes himself up, he gets a flurry of blows, including tiger palm strikes, kicks to the hamstring and knee, and knife edge chops that push Kirk into a corner. He continues the flurry, but as he goes for the big kick, Kirk blocks it, grabs Felix for a DDT, hops up on the second rope, and jumps off to get a Tornado DDT! Felix’s previous momentum keeps him going, but he’s groggy when he gets up, and Kirk grabs him for a Gutwrench Powerbomb, and after planting Felix, Kirk maintains control of his legs to hook Felix in for a Texas Cloverleaf! It’s clear in the center of the ring, and Felix is too stunned to pull himself to the ropes, and he is eventually forced to tap out, giving Waylon Kirk the valuable points to start off his G1 campaign.
[WINNER: Waylon Kirk Via 7 Leaf Clover at 06:57]
MATCH TWO
G1 TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND MATCH
El Rey vs. Big Bone
With the familiarity and rivalry that exists between the two competitors and the heightened stakes of the G1, the tension between El Rey and Big Bone is thick enough to cut with a knife--and the moment that the bell rings? They're meeting in the middle of the ring, blows flying as the crowd roars its approval! A rake of the eyes from El Rey ends the initial brawl, the cheers from the crowd deflating into boos that only get louder when the younger man rolls his eyes at the referee before he sends Big Bone into the ropes. Leapfrogging when Esqueleto de Gran Fiesta rebounds back, El Rey preemptively ducks in preparation for the clothesline that's surely to come... but instead of that? Big Bone is nimbly diving over El Rey's back, rolling so that when he lands, he's able to snag his opponent for a schoolboy pinfall attempt, the referee getting to a two count before El Rey can fight his way free! The crowd and Mono Despiadado are all collectively going nuts with encouragement as El Rey throws himself back into the ropes, but Big Bone is ready for him, catching El Rey with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker that has the smaller man clutching his back in agony!
From there, the offensive on Big Bone's part is centered right on the small of El Rey's back, with every attempt that El Rey makes to get his own momentum going countered by Big Bone going for his chosen target. El Rey goes to further and further extremes to create an opening... and when he does? It's in the form of El Rey catching Big Bone coming off the ropes with a stiff kick to the face before El Rey circles behind, snagging Esqueleto de Gran Fiesta's arms and crossing them over his chest before sacrificing more of his back by connecting with a ring-shaking Xed Out! It's Big Bone's turn to kick out at the two, El Rey's frustration rearing its ugly head as he not only shouts at the referee, but also at the crazed monkey who serves as Big Bone's manager! As Mono Despiadado hops up and down outside the ring, the referee is forced to focus on keeping the monkey out of the ring--and that's when El Rey smirks to himself, taking advantage of the diversion he created to quickly snag the chair he's had sneakily leaning against the ring apron in his corner, the crowd booing as he smashes Big Bone in the head with it! Quickly hiding the evidence, El Rey bodily hauls Big Bone up into position for his take on the Styles Clash, the Society Killer hitting dead-on! From there, the three-count is academic, the crowd jeering El Rey for stealing his first-round victory in the G1.
[WINNER: El Rey Via Society Killer at 07:24]
Coming July 4th...GUNS SEASON 3....Featuring:
MATCH THREE
Kylo Anderson vs. Finn Whelan
As soon as the bell rang, Anderson came at Whelan like he’d promised, perhaps surprising The Seattle Saint a touch, backing him up with a combination of strikes and kicks until Whelan was backed up in the corner. Anderson whipped him to the opposite corner and chased after him, hitting a running lariat to pop Whelan back out and stumble to the mat. Anderson kept the pressure on, grabbing Whelan and hitting a snap suplex, making an early cover for a one count. Anderson looked laser focused, and despite a couple of thrown hands as he was getting dragged back to his feet, Whelan had not scored a single piece of offence. Anderson hooked his opponent up and looked for another suplex, but Whelan dropped behind and quickly hit a backstabber to halt any further attack from Anderson.
Whelan, despite the shots he’d taken was quick to get back up to his feet, and as Anderson returned to a vertical base it’s his turn to use his feet, and hits an enzuiguri to drop Anderson back down once again. A smirk arrived on Finn’s face as he began to take control of the match, following up the kick with a jumping knee drop right to Kylo’s skull. Anderson instinctively rolled towards the ropes and onto the edge of the ring apron. Whelan wasn’t letting him off that easily, he dragged him back through the second rope and spiked him with a hanging DDT, making the cover for a two count.
Whelan was starting to enjoy himself, and placed Anderson in a gogoplata. Anderson was very quick to try and get himself out of trouble, and shimmied the pair of them close enough to the ropes to grab and enforce the rope break. After a count from the referee Whelan rolled away, whilst Anderson held his shoulder, aware that Whelan had left his mark. Whelan stalked The Punisher, happy to be patient before his next strike. Anderson slowly got to his feet and Finn charged at him, but found himself being launched over the top rope as Anderson dropped the top rope. Whelan hit the floor hard, which allowed Anderson to get some composure back. He stepped through the ropes and looked down at Whelan, who was slowly getting up. Anderson jumped and hit a big elbow to the back of Whelan’s head which took him back to the floor.
Anderson grabbed Whelan by the back of the neck and dragged him back up and walked him to the steps, he tried to slam Whelan’s head into them but Whelan put his hands down, blocking the attempt. He threw a couple of elbows into Anderson to back him up and followed that with a discus clothesline which caused the back of Anderson’s head to hit the floor hard. Finn was aware of the referee’s count, and rolled in and out of the ring to break the count, before bundling Anderson back into the ring. Whelan got himself onto the apron and awaited his opponent to get back to his feet, and when Anderson did so, he took off, looking for a springboard crossbody, but Anderson caught him! Anderson roared aggressively and in a show of strength he threw Finn onto his shoulders in a fireman’s carry position, and hit Oblivion [fireman’s carry into jackhammer]!
Anderson was fired up from this, and considered the cover but felt that there was a better opportunity. He looked at the fallen body of Whelan and wrapped his arms around him, hitting a deadlift German suplex, he popped back up and charged at Whelan, who was prone for him to complete the Revenge of the Punisher, but as he went for the stomp, Whelan sprung to his feet and hit a Pele kick, Anderson was wobbling, and Whelan didn’t hesitate, hitting the Revelation 6:4 [Bitter End], covering and scoring the win to ruin Kylo’s debut.

MATCH FOUR
G1 TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND MATCH
Ricardo Goon vs Adam Sanders
Ricardo Goon's talking up a blue cloud of shit at Adam Sanders before the bell rings, AWF's Prestige Champion keeping a neutral expression in the face of Ric's abuse--he's dealt with it for most of his career, and it seems like Goon's barking isn't getting through the Awkward One's skin. What does get a response, though, is the sucker punch Ric nails Adam in the face with once the match is officially underway, Goon's mouth still running circles as Sanders turns his head to meet his opponent's gaze with a set jaw. A stiff forearm from Sanders cuts Goon off mid-word, the crowd cheering as the visitor follows up with another, then another, and then another! Sanders continues with a strong offense to not only keep Ric from running his mouth more, but to prove that he has what it takes to go the distance in NLW just as he has in AWF. Unfortunately, those efforts are derailed when Sanders goes for a flying clothesline after rebounding off the ropes, the Flight of the Dragonite caught by Goon who uses Adam's own momentum against him to hit a powerslam! The crowd jeers as Ric pops right back up to his feet, the flow of verbal abuse beginning anew as he postures and mouths off to the crowd--but he's also not taking his eye off Adam.
Once the Awkward One has regained a vertical base, the younger Goon brother kicks his opponent in the gut to drive the air out of him before ducking behind him, hooking Adam's arms up, and snapping back with a Dragon Suplex that Ric manages to stick for a pinfall attempt, the ref counting to two before Adam powers out! The crowd cheers as Ric scoffs to himself, his confidence clearly not shaken by the nearfall as he instead uses a handful of Adam's head to haul him up to his feet... a choice he regrets because as soon as Sanders is upright? He's nailing Goon in the face before snagging him by the arm and sending him into the ropes, Lightning Striking in the form of a superkick that leaves Ric reeling! Taking advantage, Sanders drives the air out of Goon's lungs with a kick to the stomach. Adam hooks both of Ric's arms before connecting with the Motor City Circuit! The referee gets to two before Goon kicks out, a crazed look in his eyes. Without a moment's hesitation, Ric is scrambling to his feet, bum rushing Adam with punches to drive him back into the ropes--and after all but hurling Sanders across the ring? Goon catches Sanders coming back at him with a pop-up Powerbomb, Troy connecting with ring-shaking force! The crowd jeers as Ric dives for the pin, hooking both of Adam's legs to ensure that he gets the all-important three count... not to mention the two points for his G1 score!
[WINNER: Ricardo Goon Via Troy at 00:00]
MATCH FIVE
G1 TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND MATCH
MYŌJIN vs Ryan Young
Once the bell rings, Ryan Young and MYŌJIN meet in the middle of the ring--but rather than falling to blows? A handshake is being shared without hesitation from either side, the crowd cheering the display of sportsmanship before the pair quickly transition to a collar-and-elbow tie-up in the middle of the ring. Ultimately, the Shining Star's determination overcomes the Juggernaut's size and strength advantage, Young caught in a side headlock that he quickly uses to send MYŌJIN into the ropes. What follows is a dizzying display of dodges and counters, both mens' agility on full breathtaking display until it ends with a stereo backflip off the opposing ropes, both MYŌJIN and Young landing in a crouch with one hand upon the mat! Only remaining still enough to catch their collective breath, MYŌJIN is the first to move, the Shining Star snagging Ryan Young by the wrist and whipping him into the ropes, a spinning backfist catching Young in the jaw that knocks him down--but The Messiah of The Knee Strike is right back up! It's MYŌJIN's turn to get sent into the ropes, a leaping knee strike taking the Shining Star down to the mat--but then he, too, pops up as the crowd loses its mind at how evenly matched these two wrestlers are! Inevitably, though, a misstep happens in the form of MYŌJIN getting caught in a back suplex by Young that turns into a Uranage, that is followed up by a standing moonsault, then a standing Shooting Star Press... and with blinding speed? Young makes his way up to the high rent district before leaping off with a frog splash, Rain Over Anaheim connecting soundly! The crowd cheers as Ryan hooks the leg, only to cheer louder when MYŌJIN kicks out at two!
MYŌJIN gets to his feet with a pleased expression, Ryan Young staring him down for a moment as a chant of 'FIGHT FOR-E-VER' breaks out. It's a sentiment the X*Crown Champion clearly agrees with, a nod of approval given before the action begins anew. A fiery exchange leads to Young launching MYŌJIN into a corner, but when the Juggernaut goes for Nirvana? All Ryan finds is the turnbuckle, the Shining Star having leapt to the outside just in the nick of time. With the sliver of ring apron that he's got to work with, MYŌJIN leaps upward, his foot coming up to connect with Love, From Osaka!, the corkscrew roundhouse kick sending Young to the mat even as the Shining Star snags the top rope to keep from tumbling to the ringside area! MYŌJIN gathers himself for a moment before using the top rope to slingshot himself into the ring... but whatever he's planning is nipped in the bud, Young catching him under the jaw with a superkick whose impact echoes throughout the arena! Rather than going for the pin right away, though, the Messiah of the Knee Strike knows he's got to hit something huge to keep his opponent down--and so he's dragging an out-of-it Shining Star to his feet before Young sends himself back-first into the rope, clearly preparing to hit the California Dream to put MYŌJIN's hopes of a first round victory to bed. However, at the last moment, MYŌJIN goes low, twirling and swirling his way around Young's leg to lock in the Imanari Roll that he calls Orion! The stars do indeed bless MYŌJIN with not only a position dead-center in the middle of the ring, but after a valiant attempt to fight free? Young taps out, the Shining Star earning a hard-fought victory!
[WINNER: MYŌJIN Via Orion at 12:06]
We cut backstage where we see Leon Chant on the phone in The Academy locker room, the door is ajar and the camera is on the outside, spying. He’s pacing back and forth and his expression is not one of happiness.
Chant: I don’t know what to tell you, boss. Since Hostile Intent the place has been a hot mess, Blow is refusing to put Riley and I on the show, small dick mentality I think after we scored that win over him a month or so back.
Chant keeps pacing.
Chant: Well that was my thinking too, that’s why Riley and I went to Philly, we wanted to get a closer look at them but we seemingly have to wait our turn, Impossibly Awkward are next up, then we can make our presence felt.
He suddenly stops pacing and his face turns sour.
Chant: Who told you that? …I’m gonna kill that kid. No, we went out afterwards…I am absolutely not going to tell you. No….No, wait…did you just say please? I swear I’ve never heard you say please. Anyway, can we get back on topic? I know house arrest is doing your head in but I’m not letting you drag me down with you. We’re on a bit of an island here, I thought about seeing if we could get a match or two elsewhere but equally I thought I’d get your thoughts.
Chant listens, his eyebrows raise.
Chant: I mean, we could, but this is more of your dirty work sort of plan. I can’t see the kid going for it.
His eyebrows seem to raise even more.
Chant: El Rey? Really? Not the one I’d have thought to lead a coup. Hang on.
Chant has spotted the camera and walks over to the door, closing it, not before giving it a hard glare. We can faintly hear one last line from the former NLW Heavyweight Champion.
Chant: You were saying?
MATCH SIX
NLW SOUTHERN STATES CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Graham Baker (c) vs Savannah Sunshine
The bell sounded after the two were introduced, and Baker wasted no time on getting the first shot in, doubling Sunshine over with a kick in the gut. Baker pounded Sunshine onto the mat and then kicked and stomped her into a corner to the point where the referee felt the need to back him up, but he didn’t seem to care too much. Baker moved back in as Sunshine regrouped in the corner, stomping her repeatedly to force the referee again to move in and tell him to break. Baker again moved back in and hit Sunshine with a belly-to-belly suplex and covered, but Sunshine kicked out fairly early.
Baker picked up Sunshine and threw her back into the corner, where he began driving shoulders into Sunshine’s mid-section, before scooping her onto his shoulders and running out of the corner with a running powerslam. baker covered again but again Sunshine kicked out. Not slowing down, Baker clamped on a reverse chin lock, looking to keep Sunshine confused and sap her resolve. The fans began stomping and clapping and Sunshine fought back up and elbowed her way out of it, but when she went to hit the ropes, Baker simply yanked her hair to throw her to the mat! The referee warned him about his tactics, but Baker didn’t seem to care, this was for his title and he will defend it as he sees fit. Keeping on the attack, he went back in with several knees to the ribs of Sunshine. Baker then pulled Savannah up and whipped her into the ropes, ducking for a backdrop, but Sunshine countered with a kick to the jaw! Despite this, Sunshine had already taken a lot of damage and stumbled towards the ropes, and Baker reacted from the kick and charged at her, but she ducked out of the way and Baker went sprawling to the floor!
Sunshine used the time to try and recover as Baker looked frustrated. Baker got himself back at the apron, and Sunshine sprung to life with a running dropkick, sending Baker back to the floor! Sunshine then climbed to the top rope, and delivered a corkscrew splash to Baker on the floor! Sunshine slowly got back to her feet and pulled Baker back up and into the ring. Sunshine dragged Baker up and to the corner, where she mounted the turnbuckle and hit a tornado DDT. She covered but Baker kicked out at two.
Sunshine got back up as Baker slowly made his way up and she unleashed a chop, then another, and then another. Sunshine then hit the ropes for momentum, but ran right into a Baker spinebuster! Baker covered, but again Sunshine kicked out before the three. Baker pulled her back up and hooked Sunshine, lifting her high into the air, where he let all the blood rush to her head, and dropped her with a delayed vertical suplex. Baker then stalked the challenger and waited for her to stumble back to her feet, where he hit the Bastard Surprise [bicycle bit boot] and made a nonchalant cover but Sunshine used that to kick out again, so Baker covered hooking the leg, and Orchid again kicked out. Baker’s face soured, and he pounded the mat in frustration that despite the beatdown Sunshine would not stay down.
The champion mounted Sunshine and began raining down right hands, the referee warned him about the closed fist but once again, he really did not care to the point where he got up and in his face. The referee gave him some choice words back and he calmed down a notch, and pulled up Sunshine and hooked her head, looking for a bulldog, but Sunshine at the last minute shoved him off, causing Baker to go chest-first into the top turnbuckle, and Sunshine hit a running dropkick, sending him back into the corner. Sunshine then rolled him up but the champion managed to kick out.
Sunshine was now fired up and came at baker, stunning her with kicks and punches from every angle, and dropped him with the burst your bubble [superkick into German suplex]! She made the cover but Baker just got his shoulder up.
Sunshine stood up, and took a huge breath, trying not to get distracted or frustrated. She waited for Baker to get up, when he did, Sunshine charged, but Baker dropped out of the way and Sunshine hit the corner, she stumbled back and turned, that was all the opening Baker needed and he exploded at her with a Half Life Bomber [running pumper bomber lariat], he made the cover and this was all over.
[WINNER: Graham Baker Via Half Life Bomber at 11:46]
The camera cuts backstage to what has become a clandestine area backstage, a space where no Joe Blow paraphernalia can be seen--a place where BB Gunn can do his needed business without being interrupted. The former NLW GM is still wearing that hideous and dirty suit, but he's smiling in spite of it all.
BB Gunn: What a night of action, ladies and gentlemen--and with our championship matches coming up next, it's only going to get hotter!
The crowd's cheers can be faintly heard as Gunn nods in agreement.
BB Gunn: Before we get to Savannah Sunshine going up against Graham Baker for the Southern States Championship, though, I thought we should go over the updated standings for the G1.
A snap of his fingers and the video monitor mounted behind the former NLW GM comes to life.
BB Gunn: Here we can see that the victories for Waylon Kirk and MYŌJIN have given them both an early lead--but not only is it early in the round robin stage, but I get the feeling that Ryan Young and Felix both are going to have something to say about getting back into the thick of it. As for Group B...
Another snap of BB's fingers and the graphic on screen shifts appropriately.
BB Gunn: Today was a good day to be a bad guy, with El Rey's win over Big Bone giving him that early advantage. However, the big story here is the win which I think some will see as an upset, with Ricardo Goon besting AWF's Prestige Champion after a hard-fought match. I'd lay money on Adam Sanders stepping it up next show to make sure that he finds his stride here in NLW.[/font]
One final snap and the screen goes dark, BB Gunn moving to stand in front of it.
BB Gunn: How will round two of the round robin shake out? We'll find out on the next episode of Ascendancy. Now, let's return to the action in the ring... and the fate of not only the Southern States Championship, but the NLW Heavyweight Championship! Back to you, Dan and Tommy.
And with that, the camera cuts to ringside.
MAIN EVENT - MATCH SEVEN
NLW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Tommy Kelly (c) vs Joe Blow
With the bell ringing right away to start tonight’s main event--it becomes very clear that Joe Blow seemingly is feeling a whole lot lazier than before, and even that pisses off Tommy Kelly enough to pounce onto the challenger and landing the clubbing blows right into the abdomen of the challenger. Joe Blow isn’t even looking to put up a fight, he’s just eating away at everything that’s being thrown down at him, just accepting the beating he’s taken but soon he ducks the punch and Tommy’s hand connects with the turnbuckle. That sets off Joe to land a massive German Suplex onto the champion, it’s like a second wind--or even a wake up call for The Hobo--but he’s finally making some moves against the NLW Heavyweight Champion with a head lock applied to Kelly. Kelly is being held down against his will with the weight of Joe Blow resting on his back but he’s doing a kind-of push up and lifting himself off of the mat, bringing Joe Blow into the air and slamming him down with the Back Suplex!
The just over two hundred pound champion continues to power through the challenger as he deadlifts all one hundred and fifty pounds into the air before slamming it right back down with a thunderous Suplex from the ground up and down again. Tommy Kelly is proving to everyone why he’s the champion right now and why you shouldn’t cross the wrong path of ‘Deathless’ ever. Joe Blow, well, isn’t looking too good right now and is taking a harsh beating from the champion. The interim general manager of Next Level Wrestling is having a hard time trying to keep himself up on his own two feet but with the quickness of Tommy Kelly, it’s not looking too well for the challenger.
The champion soon makes his way up to the top rope and looks down at his challenger, poised to strike as he leaps into the air and crashes down onto Joe Blow with Nevermore [Flying Elbow Drop] as it connects right into the heart of the challenger. Kelly goes for the pin and makes it to three--but he lifts up the shoulder of Joe Blow before the three count was official. Joe isn’t even moving, and fans are getting worried right now, he might be gone for good due to the elbow drop right into the heart. Kelly makes his way up to his feet and drags up the lifeless body of Blow. Though once people would have called this pairing The Crow and Blow Connection--there’s no sympathy for the weak as Tommy Kelly goes under the arm and drops Blow with Death Becomes You [Back Suplex into Piledriver] and rolling him over for the three count. Ending this match in such a quick and dominating fashion.
[WINNER: “Deathless” Tommy Kelly via Death Becomes You @ 07:37]
Marty Watts: Here is your winner… and STILL the Next Level Wrestling Heavyweight Champion… “Deathless” TOMMMMMYYYYYY KEEEEELLLLLLLLYYYYYYY!!!!
“Born of a Broken Man” hits the speakers as the crowd cheers on Deathless in his first successful defense, the celebrations continue before sirens are heard from outside of the building and a swarm of men make their way through the crowd and to the ring, and just by their uniform alone, it’s the New Orleans Police Department. They’re pulling Joe Blow out of the ring and keeping him pinned to the floor with their knees.
Police Officer: Joseph B. Blowington, you’re here under arrest for the charges of exposing yourself to underage children. You’ve the right to remain silent, anything you will say can be used against you in the court of la--
Joe Blowing-- sorry, Joe Blow is fighting through what could be about four or five men on top of him. But with a knee right across the back of his neck, things have taken a toll for the worst.
Police Officer: STOP RESISTING!
Joe Blow: I HAVEN’T-- GAH! I HAVEN’T EXPOSED MYSELF TO UNDERAGE CHILDREN!
Police Officer #2: What about those who work here? Rebecca Brookes? El Rey? Riley Richards?
Joe Blow: SERIOUSLY?! YOU BELIEVE THEM!?
Police Officer #3: Tell it to Judge Moore, scumbag.
The police officers, one by one, hoist Joe Blow off of the ground and drag him out of the arena. The commentators are absolutely stunned into silence, not even sure as of what to make of the situation, even Tommy Kelly is unsure of it all. But alas, with one last shot of the champion and his belt resting on his shoulder, the final shot closes on Joe Blow kicking away as he’s dragged out of the Avron B Fogelman Arena but just before we fade away--we see standing at the entrance curtain and watching it all unfold is Leon Chant, BB Gunn, and El Rey -- all happy with the hatchet job they’ve produced and with smiles on their faces, we soon--and finally--fade to black.
