Takaru walked from the bar, shrugging into his jacket as he walked across the parking lot. Gravel crushed underfoot, and he scanned the parking lot looking for his car. He frowned slightly, and then paused before he looked over his shoulder. He turned slowly facing the darkness in the shadow of the building, and his hands remained in his pockets as he smiled. 'I know you're there, come out.'
The darkness moved, and Takaru smirked as Donzig stepped from the shadows. His face hidden behind the cool metal of the mask, his hood drawn up as he tilted his head to stare at him. Takaru shrugged, and the pair stared at each other for a long moment as classic rock echoed through the parking lot. A few cars drove down the road past the bar, and then Donzig spoke in that low growl of his. 'Staying, eh? Want your revenge?'
'They say when you set out for revenge, you should first dig two graves.' said Takaru to that cool metal mask, and he stepped closer as he lifted a hand to push back his hair. 'Too bad, you didn't stay in yours. But even revenge against the entire world is not enough for you is it? You talk about the Abyss, but it is inside of you. I can see it now, all of your wars and your battles? They didn't break you, Donzig.'
Takaru tilted his head, and then met that empty gaze. 'They left you hollowed out, they left you empty.'
'You know if you stay, I will do everything I can to destroy you. There is only war between us, Takaru.' Donzig spat, and he stepped closer as well. His fingers sliding across the hood of one of those cars, and he turned his hooded head to look at the King of Kyoto. 'I can not let you threaten my vision.'
A grunt. 'You were never an easy man to get along with, or to understand. You wanted glory, you reveled in violence, and you would stop at nothing for these things. You were Donzig, and you were like a God to all of us. Our own god of war, terrible to behold but we loved you even as we hated you. And now what are you? Darkness? Shadows? A creature of ashes? You gave into the emptiness, to escape your pain.'
Donzig hissed, and he stepped closer as he reached up to shove back his hood. 'You have bold words, but I am beyond those things now. I am the Scourge, I have come to purify this place, I will bring it to ruin! Is it the Clown? Is that it? Misplaced loyalty to a man consumed by his own weakness? I promise you. I will end it quickly.'
Takaru laughed, shaking his head as his laughter echoed through the parking lot. 'You will not break Freakke, akuma. You do not even understand him, and I will be there to watch you fail. I am done hiding from you, I am done running from you. I am Takaru Matsui, and I am more than a match for even Great Donzig. You may try that at your leisure.'
Donzig lunged closer, and he growled under his mask as he stopped so very close to Takaru. He lifted a hand, and he jabbed his fingers forward as he glared. 'You think this is a game is that it? I have my army now, I have the KGB at my back, I will break this place to serve the Void! And I will take what I want from it. You, Freakke, and the rest of you? You're about to find out the extents of my mercy, and I promise you? You will not like it.'
Takaru nodded, and he stepped closer to Donzig as those fingers pushed against his chest. 'Once I had a friend, he stood at my side and together we faced demons, dragons, and anyone who came at us? We would beat them back, and he would laugh. His laughter was his war cry, and no matter what we faced? He was never afraid, he never backed down, no matter what anyone did to us? He would not give an inch, not one inch, Donzig. He would snarl, and swear, and he would fight like a hero of old.'
Takaru tilted his head, staring into that mask. His eyes on the empty black gaze, and a look of sadness washed over him. 'He was a warrior, an Achilles, a giant in a world of mortals. He was not always right, he was not always good, and he was not a nice man. But he was the best of us. I miss that man, Donzig. I wish he were here, because he would look at you and laugh. But you took him from us didn't you? You are a reflection, a shadow in a broken mirror, and you are everything he was. Maybe more? Yet you're also-'
Takaru shrugged, and he drew back a step before he spread his hands before him. '--Nothing. You're a monster, and my friend would never bow down before a monster. He would not let a monster drive him away, he would not let a monster take what is his, and he wouldn't walk away from someone who stood by him. He would not let you and the KGB win, and I will honor my friend. I will do what he would do, and I will teach you what it means to be afraid.'
Takaru blinked, and Donig stared at him for a long moment. Then he snorted, and he drew back before he rolled his shoulders before he walked away. He moved between the rows of the cars, and then stopped before the darkness under the building. He looked back at Takaru, a hand lifting before giving an absent wave. 'Then you will fail, because that man is gone. And only oblivion remains.'
Takaru shrugged, and he smiled slightly. 'Then I will fail.'
