From Northern Pro Wrestling -- July 15th, 2021
This is where things got interesting. JJ left the ring, and the referee was checking on Fowler.
[D.]
Out from the crowd, the Northern Openweight Champion hit the ring and it appeared as though he was looking to protect Steve Awesome from Esmeralda! D knows all to well what 'EVK' is capable of. Steve started to come around, and when he stood up, he saw D on one side, and EVK on the other. Steve was clearly trying to piece together what had just happened to him, as JJ had rocked his world in the match. D tried to talk sense to Steve, but instead, Awesome seemed to pick flight over fight, and rolled out of the ring and disappeared through the crowd!
EVK hissed at D, who pointed at her and told her that she had better keep her distance and not stick her nose into his business. D, then dropped down, and left the ring area as well - leaving EVK to assess the situation and plot her next move.
[Cut.]

“I can’t believe those two…”
Fade in to Steve Awesome stuffing his belongings into his duffel bag, He was still stewing after what transpired earlier tonight.
“D must think I’m stupid.”
He scoffed at the thought and it made him laugh a bit which immediately hurt his jaw.
“Awh god!”
He clutched his cheek and checked it out in the mirror.
“God dang that damn lizard hits hard as hell!”
As he was looking for any real Injury to his jaw he heard a knock on the door.
“Who the hell is it!?”
“NPW Press! You came backstage through the crowd and accidentally skipped the press line.”
Steve just deadpan stares at himself in the mirror and sardonically sneered at the thought.
“Accidentally.”
He said with a roll of his eyes. He went on to say something else but the creaking sound of his locker room door interrupted him.
“....I guess come right in.”
The journalist enters the room flipping through some notes, flanked by a few sound and video guys to document the audio. Steve crosses his arms and taps his foot.
“You know, I’m not sure who is up my ass more these days, EVK or you tools?”
The journalist looks up from his cards and smiles.
“That’s actually the best segway possible! I wanted to ask you about Esmeralda Von Krauss and her involvement in the triple threat match on your behalf.”
“On My Behalf!?” You-Ugh….”
Steve facepalms and groans in frustration.
“I feel like I’m going in circles with you people about this! Listen to me very carefully.”
He makes sure to talk slowly and enunciate.
“I’m not working with EVK.”
He looks at the guy with the boom mic.
“You get that? Huh?”
He aggressively snatches the boom mic down and shouts into it.
“EVK IS A CRAZY BROAD WHO WON'T LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE!!”
The sound guy rips his headphones off to avoid the pain.
“Did you get that?”
He shoves the boom mic back and the sound guy stumbles backward and to the ground. Even though Steve was feisty, the journalist carried on.
“But it did seem like she was there to help you.”
Steve started to get mad but instead chuckles at what he perceived as pure stupidity.
“Oh is that how you are going to spin it now? Because what I saw was way different. What I saw was D on one side and EVK on the other closing in for an ambush! But I was just lucky to see it coming and get the hell out of there before they got to see there little sneak attack through!”
“Oh come on now. D was just out there trying to help!”
The interviewer argued, but Steve was quick to answer back with a smug retort.
“Oh don’t be so naive, man. Help me? That’s exactly what D and EVK want me and you and everyone to think. They think they can pull a fast one on me and get me while my back is turned. They think I would forget that D and EVK have history together going way back. D is the one that has a championship to worry about keeping. And clearly EVK is the one to call when you need threats eliminated.”
The journalist held his ground and defended his hero.
“D wouldn’t do that! He isn’t like that!”
“Is D really as transparent as you think he is? This is the enigma. The puzzle we’re talking about. Nobody really knows what he’s capable of.”
He lets it linger in the air for a few moments. Then he points to himself.
“Me? I’m much more straight forward and in your face about it. Trust me when I say that I don’t need a six foot three, blonde, chimney to help me beat anyone and that includes D.”
He flashes his arrogant smirk.
“Especially when I know I can do it myself.”
He runs a palm through his luscious hair and struts in place.
“Well I suppose it still remains to be seen if you face D in the future. He defends against the white hot Donzig on Honor in the next few days.”
Steve seems a little confused.
“I’m still not one hundred percent what a Donzig even is….”
He shrugs it off.
“But it doesn’t matter. Because you better believe I’m going to be at Honor. And don’t worry D, I’ll be there to “watch your back” just like you tried to watch mine, tonight!”
He had a mischievous grin on his face as he glared into the camera.
“Okay but what about-“
Steve quickly cut the poor guy off.
“That was the end of the interview you idiot. Jeeze, learn some freaking timing! “
The man with the microphone lowered his head.
“Sorry about that….”
Steve pointed to the door.
“Now get the hell out of my locker room!”
Fade.
