Hey all!
As you might be aware if you're in the Discord, writing the big excellent wonderful funtime shows that you've all come to expect takes a lot of effort. In an attempt for Fizz (he's so good guys, like consistent AF and his matchwriting is chef's kiss) and I to retain healthy lifestyles and healthy mindsets and not turn FIRESIDE into a gigantic burnout factory (it's almost like we've learned something in being fedheads/admins), we're setting up a matchwriter list.
Each time we go to write a show, we'll contact writers on the list to see if they'll pick up a match so we can concentrate on our own matches and making everything kick ass. This in turn keeps the wheel a'spinnin', even as the pandemic (sort of?) comes to an end and we both regain our social lives. Please note we don't want to take advantage of any of you -- we are not going to make any outlandish requests when asking, and we do have a matchwriting guide on the forum. You may not get the most hype match on the card, but you can certainly turn it into one if you feel like (though trust me, sometimes a 'good' match is actually much more helpful than a showstopper stares in trying to write full shows by himself).
(This is also a handy time to remind people as well that sometimes matches are gonna be long, sometimes medium, and sometimes short. We do this strategically but if you're ever wondering why your match wasn't a million words, come hit me up.)
While we do have interest in grabbing another admin (and message us if you're interested), for now this is just a matchwriter list. If you would like to be on our guest judges list, as sometimes Fizz and I need a second/third opinion, you can jump on the list by saying yes to that as well.
If you would like to write matches, copy and paste the form to sign up below!

Q: What is the time commitment looking like in terms of writing a match?
Just depends how fast you write. I think a match usually takes me at least an hour, but some people can write good stuff quickly. Fast typers have an easier time.
Q: What if I'm busy/want to say no in a given week? Am I off the list?
If you end up signing up and then never ever writing a match in like fifteen shows, then yeah we would take you off the list. But if you wanna write one and then like your real life gets super busy the following show, we're not going to hate you. RL comes first.
Q: I think I suck at matchwriting but I'd like to try this. Is that possible?
Sure! I won matchwriter of the year and would be happy to help anyone get better. I think that's a great kind of trade -- you work on it, and I try to in turn teach you what I know. You'll probably be writing less insane matches but everyone's got to start somewhere (my first matchwriting in XHF was James Dragon vs. MGK, I think?).
