"We all know I've been in this business for six years now. Six long years and I haven't felt like I reached that one moment that defines everything that I've done. Things I've done in other promotion don't seem to matter anymore to me. The people I've beaten, titles I've won and all those other accomplishments have faded to the background. For years I've been lookin' for that one moment that can sum up my career. I thought I would've felt it back at Reborn but I didn't.
That moment, I think, happens at Picture Perfect. That moment I've been wanting since I entered this business happens in just five days. Five more days and I'll finally be able to look back at my career and it'll feel complete. I came into this business and won a title my first month. Since then I've always thought that a championship would give me my golden moment but lately I've been doing a lot of thinking and I need to finally not just win that title.
I need to have a run with it. All my career I've been plagued with title reigns that hardly go past thirty days. It's always been a problem. I've always been that guy in the chase but when it came time to prove the worth I'd fold like a house of cards. I don't think I've ever made a successful title defense on a pay per view in my career anywhere. That defining moment of my career is simple. I need to get over that hump, that disability to do something worth while on a pay per view besides shedding my blood.
Now that I've gotten to that top I need to actually do something with it and that first step is with you Philip. My first step in restarting my legacy begins at Picture Perfect."
"So Philip Burns, I think when we do go to battle on Sunday night, one of us is going to suffer the worst defeat of a career. This defeat would set a man back quite a while. See Phil when I look at this match on Sunday night. I don't see a match. I see a war between two men who need to walk away with a win. You have your reasons and I explained mine.
When I tell my kids bed time stories, Phil, I make sure that I'm in them. I make sure that they know that their father cares about what he does. But I also make sure that they know I care about them too. I do this to help them. I could sit on my ass all day long and do nothing with my wealth but I chose not to. I want to show my kids that despite being wealthy that you can do something with your life. They can do whatever they want Phil.
I won't stop them.
If I lose to you on Sunday night, I just lost the World Title. While it does mean important things to me and I do want to have that career defining run, I'll still be a champion to my wife and kids. You need this for yourself Burns. This is about your self worth. This is about proving to yourself that you're man, that you can do it. You being an asshole has nothing to do with it, it's just a way of getting my attention. On Sunday night, Burns, this war is gonna tear you down.
I'm making you bleed and I'm making you cry. Then I'm walking out with my nCw World Title. You ain't sniffin' this one.
