Okay. So…
This was originally a Google Doc shared to the FWA Discord Server. I figured it was a good idea to make this a post on the boards, as well. It's important to get it out there so that nothing comes as a surprise.
That being said, after our J-ROK Crossover, FWA, as you know it, will be over.
What that means is that you can say goodbye to the monthly PPV format, and in the new year, I will be returning to bi-weekly which will see the return of FWA’s flagship program, Fusion, a brand new PPV schedule and a much different, more old school wrestling style.
I’ll go more in-depth on this if there’s enough interest in it… but I’m only doing it on a few conditions.
All of you need to step it up and start writing your own shit. Seriously, guys. There are times when you do write your own shit now and it’s awesome. If you need me to, I can meet you in the middle and give you a shout to say “here’s what I need, I want it done by this point in time” and shoot you occasional reminders between the time I tell you what I need and show time… but it can’t always be up to me to remind you. I’m just as forgetful and human as you are, if not busier as of late with being outta the house more often than I'm not.
I also want you guys to start talking to each other more. Not just about shit like the weather… you need to communicate in terms of stuff like collaboration. Whether it’s me putting you in an angle with another handler and you two collaborating on segments and ideas for it, or it’s the two of you coming to me with an idea that you wanna see come to fruition. You also need to be willing to help each other out when it comes to things like giving feedback. It’s happened twice now that I’ve noticed where somebody has asked you, the community, for feedback and gotten nil in return. I even asked you once and the only thing I got in response was from somebody who’d just arrived at that time and it wasn’t even relevant to the question.
The worst part about FWA right now is that despite the fact that I call us a family… It feels like there is a giant disconnect. Not just between me and you, the individual reading this, but between you and your FWA brothers and sisters. That needs to stop. I wanna see more communication, on all of our parts. I understand that some of you are admins/fedheads of other feds and as a result, you may not always be available. That’s fine, I get that. All I want is to hear from you. Just a heads up to let me know when things aren’t going the way you’d hoped they would, so that I can figure out what I’m gonna do to ensure that the show is complete and on time.
TL;DR Version:
Condition 1: Start writing your own segments/matches.
Condition 2: Collaborate with your fellow handlers.
Condition 3: Communicate and give feedback.
This is all I need from you guys and it’s the only way that I can ensure FWA’s survival at this point. If you guys can meet me here, I will have a much more enjoyable time writing FWA because the load will be lightened and FWA might turn around for the better, to a point where we can grow more and more.
And, of course, even if we don’t grow beyond what we currently have, we can still have fun writing for ourselves and each other, right?
If you don’t think you can meet these conditions, that’s fine, best of luck to you in other places. I just need to know so that I can plan ahead.
