At the end of a long dirt road, sits a derelict house, it’s windows broken, the front door hanging on by a single hinge, and the half of the porch's roof has collapsed into a pile of splinter and rubble. It’s here sitting on the second step leading up, we find Wellington Dunne.
“It’s been a while, hasn’t it. Let me ask you, does this place look familiar to anyone? Go ahead, take a good long look at it.”
The camera pans out giving a sweeping view of the house.
“Recognize it now, this the very same place where I shot my very first promo back when I joined AXW. The Shatter Room as I called it. This place was full of mirrors in which I painstakingly painted the faces of every man on the AXW roster with the main purpose of smashing every single person who stood in my way to greatness. Men like Chaos, Duke Kosloff, Price, Maverick, Dreadvan, Dylan Black, King Edmund, Tommy Kelly, and this list goes on and on. From GWA to AXW to AWF to Destiny Wrestling to J-RoK to now NLW. I made these images because every man I got in the ring with I saw weakness, a crack, a flaw, something to exploit.”
Dunne gets up and walks into the house, the floorboard creaking with every step, he stops in front of a mirror hanging by itself on a wall.
“Over time I broke every mirror in this place, and as I walked around the place I looked for some sign, to show me that everything I’ve worked for was worth it, and here it was all along, The only mirror untouched in this entire place. The only mirror that shows. Me.And then I realized I was my biggest obstacle, Not Anthony Caffrey. Not Jason Long. Not anyone else. Me. I began to realize that I was holding myself back. I was the reason why every opportunity given to me was wasted, Why iI could never seem to gain momentum, And I absolutely hate that. I hate myself. Does that mean anything to you, I hate me. I hate who I am, I hate who I was, but I do not hate who I will become. I have made my legacy so far by doing things that people said were impossible. They told me you can’t win a title on your first victory. I proved them wrong. They said it was impossible to slam Dreadvan. I proved them wrong. They said I had no chance against Caffrey. The man had to cheat to beat me. They said no one could survive the full 45 minutes of an Ironman Deathmatch. It hasn’t been done since. And people say I have no chance against you Kelly. And you know what, maybe they’re right, maybe I don’t have a chance against you. Which is going to make beating the hell out of you, all that more sweeter to savor..”
Dunne walks away from the mirror after talking to his reflection.
“Kelly, I will admit, you have earned my respect. A decorated man, with a decorated past. A man who at one time had a whole cult following his every word. I got involved in your title match against Finn, to get under your skin at Eve of Champions, and it’s very clear to me it worked. And now you stand against me, a man with no title, no cult, nothing but your dying pride. And implore you, do not bring the same, sorry, man you have been for the past few months.”
Dunne turns around throwing a fist at the very same mirror he only moments ago was looking at. The glass shatters and falls to the ground leaving only the empty frame.
“Otherwise I will break you, I will destroy you. I will end you. Just like I ended myself. Kelly I may hate myself. But I hate you even more.”
