In a dimly lit room, Takaru Matsui stands with a pair of scissors in his hand as he stands over what appears to a potted plant of some sort. He hums to himself, and every so often he moves to cut off some leaves, or even trim a few small branches. He nods to himself, turning the plant slowly as he makes another cut before he speaks with a shrug of his shoulders.
'Men, warriors, fight for many reasons.' He makes a cut, tilting his head before he continues. 'Some men fight for revenge, to avenge themselves on their enemies. Some men fight because they have something to prove to someone, or even themselves. And some men?'
Takaru shrugs, and removes another slender branch before he turns the plant again. 'Some men fight to forget, so they don't have to remember. To honor promises they made long ago, to try and find peace. But in their heart? In their mind? A true warriors knows that none of these are a reason to fight, or a reason to win. You see in your heart when you strike at your enemies?'
A faint smile. 'You are actually striking at yourself. You are trying to defeat yourself. So no matter your grief, no matter your anger, and no matter your size? Unless you are at peace with yourself? You will never strike true, you will never win.'
Another few cuts, and more leaves fall to the table as he reached for a spray bottle. He sprayed the plant absently, nodding to himself before he continued with a slow turn to face the camera. 'I know myself, I know what I am capable of. And I have desired revenge, I have wanted to fulfill promises, and I have wanted to forget. But that is not a path to victory, the way to victory lays in conquering the self.'
Takaru smiled, and lifted a hand to brush back his black hair. 'That is exactly what I indeed to do, I will conquer my desires. I will conquer my thoughts, and I will focus my entire mind to winning. And so I will stand tall at the end of it all, and around me? Will be three men who failed to do that.'
