I'm That Guy 08.26.21 | Reaction | NPW 08.25.21 vs Jay Stevens I sat backstage waiting, patiently, until my music started playing and it was my time to walk out onto that stage. Despite my ire for many of the fans there’s a few who have the sense to cheer me despite my ‘bending’ of the rules. I’m not gonna lie and say that I don’t take every opportunity that sits before me. The expectation of this business is that you win and I choose to do that by every means possible. So… If any of you think I’m gonna apologize for taking advantage of the Champ Jay Stevens you’re wrong, dead wrong. I challenged the Champ to put his title on the line and like the Champion that he was he agreed to put the North American Cruiserweight Championship up for grabs. I’ll be the first person to admit that Jay Stevens was a true fighting Champion. A guy who represented himself, the belt, and Northern Pro Wrestling every single day since he had first won the Championship. I wouldn’t deny the man’s accomplishments. I'd even go as far to say that I respect Jay Stevens. I’m also the guy that doesn’t play by the gentleman’s rules of the ring. I don’t care who I’m in that ring with or how much respect I have for them. When the time comes and I step between those ropes, I’m gonna do whatever it takes to walk out victorious. That’s exactly what happened and I’ve got nothing left to say except the 'NEXT ERA' has arrived. This belt, this title, this statement that I’m the best Cruiserweight in Norther Pro Wrestling; sits on MY shoulder and around MY waist. I’m gonna show Jay Stevens, Gus Arnold, and every single person in that locker room why I’M the best. I’m a young guy and this is the biggest accomplishment of my career. I’m not afraid to say that out loud. There’s guys out there that are bigger, stronger, quicker, and have more experience than I have showcased. So then, what’s the thing that separates me from them? You hear guys saying all the time it's their heart. I’m not that guy. I was just better on the right night against the right guy. Now I've just got to be better on the next one and then the next. It's in those moments that I truly show I'm the guy. I've got the belt. Now, I've got the bullseye on my back. I’m not the bodacious, braggadocios, guy who’s gonna yell his accomplishments to anyone who will listen. No, I’m not 'THAT' guy. What I am is the Northern American Cruiserweight Champion. What I am is the guy who walked into Northern Pro Wrestling and accepted a challenge from Johnny Sniper that nobody else answered. What I am is the guy who makes his own opportunities. What I am is the guy who was booked against one of the best in this company, Jay Stevens, and thru down the challenge and he accepted. I’m the guy that kicked down the Northern Pro door and said, “Hey, NPW, I'm here." That’s the kind of guy that I am.
