Archie Rude was standing just inside of catering, a cup of coffee in hand as he smiled to himself. He looked content, even pleased with the day as he took a long drink of his coffee. And then he blinked as a hand fell to his shoulder from behind, he muttered lowering the cup as he turned. And he found himself face to face with Donzig, he swallowed as he lowered the cup with that fading smile. Donzig had a way of ruining a day, even if you claimed to be a fan. Donzig's masked visage stared at him, and then he shrugged as he passed the XHF Trios championship to Sinclair.
'Archie, I am glad I have found you. I have decided you will be the first to hear the good news.' Donzig purred, he sounded pleased with himself. in Archie's experience that meant something awful was about to happen, or worse. Worse meant Donzig's mood was going to unpredictably change, as his good moods never seemed to last. He nodded, forcing a smile.
'Ah, well, I love a scoop.'
Donzig nodded, and he gestured vaguely. 'I am entering the Battle Royal at Honor, I will walk into Honor! And on the same night that I defeat the Enigma D and claim what is rightfully mine, when I take the NPW Openweight Championship from him and those other two persons! I will defeat the rest of the NPW roster, and I will claim a shot at another title! I will begin the Golden Crusade, and all of the XHF will tremble before the fury of the Conqueror!'
Archie blinked, and Sinclair was staring at Donzig like he had lost his mind. Her lips pressed into a thin line, and Donzig rolled his shoulders before Archie spoke up.
'You are going to enter the Battle Royal? You are going to literally enter a battle royal against the entire roster, the same night you have a fatal fourway?'
'Do you doubt my powers, mortal?' Donzig hissed, and that voice became cold and deep. If the eyes of that skull like visage could narrow they would have, and he loomed closer. Archie stared at him, glancing at the still confused Sinclair before he lifted the mic.
'No, no. I just, well, isn't that a bit much? I mean fighting a battle royal before a fatal fourway? A title match?' Archie was baffled, but he was very careful not to say crazy.
Donzig laughed, and Archie shivered as that weird rasping almost mechanical sound filled catering. He took a deep breath, and Donzig tilted his head before he spoke once more with a wave of his hand.
'Archie, Archie, Archie. I am the Harbinger of Death, I am the most favored of the Children of the Fall.' Donzig pointed at himself, and he growled. 'I am the Chosen of the Void! I am the Lord of Chaos, Death in High Places! I will do wonders in the name of Oblivion, and I will force you all to bear witness! I will walk into Honor and I will leave draped in gold with the greatest prize Gus Arnold has in my hand!'
Archie nodded slowly, he was going to need more coffee. Donzig waved a hand, and he continued with a brush of his fingers across the surface of his mask. 'I will leave covered in blood, I will leave Honor with the sounds of dead men dying in my ears! Because I am going to do what can not be done! I am going to show the NPW, and the entire XHF that I am the Conqueror, eh? The Bandit fucking King! And I will not let anyone get in my way understand?'
Donzig lifted a hand, snarling as his other hand rested on Archie's shoulder as he counted them down. 'Not the baby dinosaur. Not the big bearded dinosaur. Not the fucking cat man, nor the fucking bear that isn't good enough for GUNS. Not the aliens, nor the Sex Pirates, and most certainly not the Bastards!'
Sinclair snorted a laugh, and Donzig kept counting.
'Nor any of my former tag team partners, nor the Revenants! No one, and nothing will deny me what is mine! And at the end of the night, do you know who will be left standing in that battle royal, Archie?'
'I have ten bucks on Rob Riot in the office pool.' said Archie, and then he hissed in pain as that hand tightened. Sinclair actually did laugh that time, covering her mouth as Donzig stared at Archie. His head tilting as he leaned closer, and he spat angrily.
'It's me, you fucking buffoon! It's me! Change your bets, Archie!'
