Hey XHF Network,
As a result of some of the recent events, the admins have decided to put together this new list of community guidelines for the forums. We appreciate you all giving us your feedback and being patient while we put this together. We know things haven't been easy and that sometimes it seems like we don't listen. But we want you to know we do. We try our best to measure ourselves and do what we can for the community. And in this respect ... we have failed so far. A hands off approach clearly was the wrong choice. We have seen the need to take a stand and to put these things to paper. We are instituting a zero-tolerance policy for breaking these guidelines. First offense is a week ban, second is a month, after that is permanent. Good bye, adios, no parole, no return. So please take these things to heart and if you have any questions about content you are creating or someone else is creating, please come to us so we can try and be proactive and stop things BEFORE they go wrong. We are trying to be a welcoming, accepting community where we can all escape the problems of real life for some period of time. Treat each other good. If things heat up, take it to DMs or come to us and hash it out BEFORE it festers. If you think we are unaware of any issues please let us know.

- The XHF strives to be a tolerant and accepting community. We are working towards being a safe space where there is no fear of discrimination or hostility. To that end, there is no place for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc. Please refrain from using derogatory terms for any of these groups of people, in character or out.
- The XHF Network (globally speaking) allows match-ups you may not see in the real world. In the end we are a writing exercise and someone's writing shouldn't be undervalued because of the character they portray or the pic base they use
- We do not allow attacks on the handler, personal jabs, etc. We will not tolerate attacks on a community member's race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, handicaps, political affiliation, etc.
- Take your fellow members seriously. If someone asks you to stop interacting with them, if someone informs you something is offensive, if someone comes to you in the DMs with an issue, please work to correct it or inform the admins. If you've offended someone, take it seriously, because we will. Be open of mind and ears.
- In that same vain, please do not assume the worst. If something looks like it might be offensive, talk to the person, let them know, sometimes it's an honest mistake and it's a chance to educate and make connections. If polite confrontation doesn't work or you have a problem with confronting someone, let us know. We'd rather correct an issue with an educational moment and an edit than a ban.
- Please don't be a troll. Nobody wants to be around someone who goes looking for fights or to cause problems. We don't need potshots in RPs at people looking for a rise in response. This activity will no longer be tolerated. Either clear it with the person if it's in good fun or we will step in if people keep flagging you for flagrant harrassment.
- Treat each other with respect. This is a community. Treat others the way you'd want your neighbors to treat you. If you have issues with someone take it to the DMs or talk to the admins. Don't air the dirty laundry on the board.
- With respect to in character: Please refrain from using in character voices to attack people under the guise of "heel work" or "my character".
- Refrain from using in character voices to voice your Out of Character concerns. Again, DM and talk it out like civilized folk or get us involved please.
- If you disagree with the results of a match, take a day to sit and calm down. This is supposed to be fun. Then if you are still miffed talk to your fed heads, get feedback, let them know how you feel without being a jerk. Remember the fed admins also have busy lives and their own IRL shit to deal with and this is for our entertainment. Most admins will work with you, give you feedback, and strive to make you better. After all, we want to see our writers put out banging stuff.
- Please don't plagiarize ... this is a creative writing exercise and "winning and losing" shouldn't be the be all end all. Is it really winning if you used someone else's work?
- Please don't flame other community members or admins. There is no place for violent or aggressive speech.
- If you feel one of these guidelines is being violated, PLEASE bring it to the attention of the site admins. Bring us screenshots so we can see what is upsetting if needed. We are here to help and we want to squash this bad behavior ASAP. It is the admins responsibility to handle this behavior, not the community's. Mob behavior is not ok.
- Do not skirt around the bans. If you get in trouble, take the punishment and learn from it. If we find out someone has snuck around it with alts or a new account it will be an instant perma-ban
