**Summer “Pixilicious“ Pykeis back in the gym. Her hair is back to it’s natural blonde and all eyes seem to turn her way as she is joined by Grace, UPW’s extremely glamorous reporter.
Grace: Hi Pixi, you’re looking in surprisingly good shape after that fight.
Pixi: Thanks Grace. I put my recovery down to healthy living and a LOT of flexibility. I’m less susceptible to injury.
Grace: The main thing is you’re okay. Well enough to face Nathaniel next.
Pixi: For sure.
Grace: Let’s get to that in a moment. First off, you lost. Rain took the big prize and was VERY keen to tell everyone just how great he is. What’s your response?
Pixi: Rain’s a great technician: arguably the best in UPW, but he’s not unbeatable. I used to have a lot of respect for him, but no longer. Like the rest of the Black Hand – with the possible exception of Adam Miller – he’s felt the need to become darker, as if that somehow enhances his capabilities. It doesn’t. It doesn’t for Devin Bishop. It doesn’t for Kid Diaz and it doesn’t for Rain Blackheart. So we’ll see whether Adam’s new focus takes him down the same tired path. We’ll see.
As to Rain’s win. He was lucky. I was unlucky. That happens. No excuses. Those are simply facts. We all need some luck to prevail at times, but luck alone won’t see you win consistently. For that you DO need talent. The Black Hand DOES have talent. They’ve also got a bad attitude that will ultimately prove their undoing. And then….Then it’ll be interesting to see if they can handle defeat as stoically, as capably and as implacably as the members of the Alliance.
Grace: Yet the Black Hand have made much of the Alliance’s failure.
Pixi: No surprises there. They need to, to make themselves look all the darker and more dangerous. Look, The Alliance is NOT a stable. We’re just a group of friends looking out for each other. That’s it. There’s no agenda. No narrow path we all have to conform to. There’s no shouting, imprecations or threats. We do our best, enjoy ourselves and strive to win. The Alliance is purely defensive – to prevent the attention seeking cowardly attacks that SOME seem to think are entirely necessary to establish some kind of ‘credibility’. It would seem that Olejnik is just as insecure and wants to bolster his rep further – but he won’t at OUR expense.
Grace: A very comprehensive answer. So, moving on – Nathaniel. A very capable adversary. You thoughts on him.
Pixi: He’ll cheat. He has to. Well, maybe not him, maybe Raggerz will try to do it on his behalf, because he can’t beat me without cheating.
Grace: You sound very certain. Nathaniel is arguably CCAZ’s most potent threat. Aren’t you being dismissive?
Pixi: No.
Grace: And that’s NOT such a comprehensive answer.
Pixi (smiling): You noticed.
Grace; Nothing gets past me, you know. So, are you going to elaborate any further?
Pixi: There’s no need. I can and will beat Nathaniel simply because I’m better than he is. Nothing more needs to be said. There’s no threats, no promises of “ultimate destruction”, severed body parts, hospitalisation, etc, etc. I don’t NEED to indulge in all that, because when the fans turn up and turn on to watch Pixi in action, they know – they know that they’ll NEVER be disappointed. So, if anyone should be concerned about “underestimating” their opponent, it should be Nathaniel.
Grace: See. There’s that comprehensive answer. I knew I could get it out of you. So, any last words before I head off to my pedicure appointment.
Pixi: Again? Didn’t you have one just the other day?
Grace: That was last week. So?
Pixi: So – Candy and Maddox; they were super impressive in the maturity of their responses. I’m proud to call them friends. Oh, and before I forget – we’ve got a goblin in UPW now! Isn’t it great? Now we have a Pixi AND a goblin. The Fey are taking over.
Grace: And that’s not worrying at all. Thanks Summer. I’ll let you get back to it. Catch you again real soon.
**Pixi waves goodbye and smiles as the scene fades.
