(The scene opens up inside the Gershwin Theatre in New York City inside one of the dress rehearsals for "Wicked" the Broadway musical. The final curtain goes down and the few people sat in the audience watching the dress rehearsal stand up and clap...that would be the wardrobe supervisors, wig supervisors, producers, choreographer, dance captain, etc. But also, Maddox and Candy are sat next to Dashi, one of the dance captains for the show in New York City)
DASHI: Wasn't that so good?
MADDOX: But why aren't you up there? That's why we came to watch.
DASHI: Im an offstage swing dance captain.
CANDY: Meaning what?
DASHI: If someone ever goes out or gets injured in the middle of the show, I have to be ready to go. I have to cover all the ensemble all the tracks incase people need to call out or whatever It is. Plus, being offstage gives me the opportunity to be out here, run rehearsals and be able to take notes to give to the cast.
MADDOX: Got It. (he pauses) Still sad we weren't able to see you up there.
DASHI: Well mister jet set, I know that if I call you guys and you're available one night, you can fly out and catch the show.
MADDOX: We'll see about that.
(He reaches out and grabs Dashi in for a hug)
DASHI: So lovely to see you guys.
CANDY: Agreed. So awesome to see you too.
(Candy extends her arms for a hug and they connect)
DASHI: Alright, I got notes for these hoes so I gotta go.
MADDOX: Alright, ciao bello.
(They all do air kisses and Maddox and Candy start to make their way out of the auditorium to the lobby where they sit in two plush chairs)
MADDOX: Well if that wasn't enough Wicked, then I don't know what is.
CANDY: I can give you a hint on what would be.
MADDOX: Yes, yes, yes. I know. We're going up against Wicked at Friday Night Free For All.
CANDY: It's funny because Vicious and Vile are ultimately a lot like Elphaba, the WICKED witch of the west.
MADDOX: Um....how so? Because that musical made me actually LIKE the wicked witch! I'd say they are a lot like the Wicked Witch in Wizard Of Oz.
CANDY: Well, you're right, in that sense, yes. BUT....I'm sure that Vicious and Vile are very fiery and misunderstood most of the time. They probably had a father like Elphaba that completely resented them and well, that's all she wrote. We know how they wound up to be.
MADDOX: I'm sure It was before their father chose to resent them. I think they came out of the womb that way.
(Candy reaches over and socks Maddox in the arm)
MADDOX: I mean they are tragic, mate. They are FIERCE competitors but I don't think I've ever seen them wrestle a fair match. They don't give a fuck about rules. They don't care about whether or not they will get DQed. They just wrestle for the pure satisfaction of It. I guess at the end of the day, good for them. They don't care about what happens but when you and I are out there trying to prove we can wrestle as a tag team and we have to deal with that type of chaos, It gets a little troublesome.
CANDY: I agree. It's a bit unpredictable and we don't know what we are going to get thrown our way but its nothing that we can't handle.
MADDOX: I know we can handle It but damn....
(Maddox laughs)
MADDOX: It's like having to fire on all cylinders.
CANDY: That we do. But that's what makes It fun. You learn a lot about yourself when you are under pressure.
MADDOX: Truth. You get to figure out how you perform when the going gets rough. What kind of decisions you make and how you can handle them.
CANDY: The good thing is that even though you and I were never tag team wrestlers, we know each other backwards and forwards and we are great singles wrestlers. We operate as a team on a daily basis and that translates well to the ring.
MADDOX: I agree. But so do they. Wicked is a solid, air tight unit. They are no joke in that ring.
CANDY: 100% but their chaos is something that we can predict. We know that much. We can match that chaos with preparation. We obviously don't want a DQ result so, how can we best combat that?
MADDOX: By stopping them in their tracks when It comes to some shady shit.
CANDY: Exactly. Don't let them do what they normally do.
MADDOX: Well, its not always as easy as 1.2.3.
CANDY: I know, I know but as long as we have that at the front of our minds, we'll at least be present in that type of environment.
MADDOX: Agreed. While they may be chaotic and intense, we are a very powerful team. The experience and the passion across the board in our team is unmatched. We are going to serve what needs to be served.
CANDY: Oh, 100 percent. I think we'll be fine and if they get DQed, it's still a win for us at the end of the day.
(They both laugh)
MADDOX: I want to win fair and square though.
CANDY: As do I but It may not be like that.
MADDOX: Yeah. (He pauses) Must be tough living this life where people just don't understand you and completely root against you because of who you are. I don't know what that feels like.
(Candy rolls her eyes)
CANDY: Yeah you do.
MADDOX: Bitch when?
CANDY: The stories you use to tell me of you back in middle school?
MADDOX: I was a hot little thang who happened to be very feminine, the boys just didn't know what to do with me. I was just as good as them in Soccer but then I danced and did gymnastics too. They couldn't take It, so they called me {Mongo Edit: Fuck Off} and sissy and all of the other things you could think of.
CANDY: Soooo....people rooting against you because of who you were....?
MADDOX: Yeah, yeah, yeah. But nothing was "wrong" with me. Wicked....somethings wrong with those two.
CANDY: What It is, we will never know. But what we do know is the power and experience they have wrestling together so, we will have to match that in determination, power and tenacity. We love chaos too. Dont ever forget that. So if its chaos that they want, we will bring the chaos just as hard.
MADDOX: Within the parameters of a normal tag team match, we have to watch the chaos that we bring though.
CANDY: Agreed but if shit gets out of hand or It goes left, we're going left and we're getting out of hand as well.
MADDOX: On period. Let them step out of bounds and cause a DQ. They are getting their asses beat. We are not about to be Jester in this bitch because of Wicked.
CANDY: Nope, not I said the fly.
MADDOX: Well, that was a fun show. Coffee in the city somewhere?
CANDY: Yeah, lets get some coffee and then get to the gym.
MADDOX: Perfect. Lets do It.
(Maddox and Candy get up from their seats and head towards the exit of the theatre. The scene fades)
DASHI: Wasn't that so good?
MADDOX: But why aren't you up there? That's why we came to watch.
