(Open to Smilin’ Jack Ruby, back at home at Jack’s Place as he gets ready for the next Friday Night Free for all.
(Ruby is sitting in his office, watching tape of The Jackal. Jack stops the tape, rewinds a moment, and then restarts it. He nods in appreciation as the Jackal hits his finisher.)
Ruby: Well, Jackal, I’ll give you this. You are, indeed, one tough individual and I’m going to have my hand full when we meet. However, I look forward to it. This is going to be a clash of two wrestlers of similar styles and it’s going to be a challenge to see who is going to wear the other down enough to claim the win.
(Ruby starts the tape again and watches some more in silence. Then he stops the tape and smiles to himself.)
Ruby: Might want to watch that tell there, Jackal. Because I sure am.
(Ruby turns the TV off and stands up, stretching as he does so.)
Ruby: Yes, this is one match I’m looking forward to for the pure competition. No grudges, no worries about some fools running in to mess things up.
(Ruby pushes a button on his intercom which buzzes the bar. Archie is tending bar right now.)
Ruby: Archie, is Moe out there?
Archie: Yeah. He’s busy trying to regale a crowd of college girls with his tales in the ring.
Ruby: Make sure he tells them about…nah. Never mind. I’m sure they’re about to leave anyway.
Archie: You want me to send him back to see you so the kids can have a little peace?
Ruby: Yeah. I need to speak with him anyway. This is as good a time as any.
Archie: Sure. Hang on, I’ll send him back to ya.
(Ruby disconnects and waits. Finally Moe comes into the room.)
Moe: You wanted to see me?
Ruby: Yeah. Ask yourself one question.
Moe: Sure, what?
Ruby: What would Annie say if she saw you flirting with a group of college kids?
Moe: Uh…
Ruby: Think about it. Meanwhile, come with me. I need a sparring partner as I get ready for The Jackal.
(Fade to black as Jack and Moe walk out of the office)
