Three sharp knocks ring out as the camera pans back to reveal Blake Samuels once again at the door to Bear-O-Dactyl’s locker room.
Adjusting his navy blazer he straightens his tie and looks over his shoulder as the door opens. “You again? Slow news day mate?”
Stepping into frame, Union Jack is a far cry from the state he answered the door in last time. Ready for action, it’s clear Bear-O-Dactyl is ready to go, booked or not. In his left hand is a large paperback book. ‘How to win friends and influence people.’
“Not exactly, wait…” Blake seems genuinely taken back in surprise. “You’re reading ‘How to win friends and influence people’?”
Jack clutches the book to his chest, “Yeah, so? What of it? I’m expanding my horizons Warren. Lately, I’m not doing so great in that department between Donzig and Mongo. So I figured, never mind…” Trailing off, the Lucha-Bear hollers for Dinosaurio. “Dino, Warren’s back!”
“Que?” Is all he receives back as Pequeno Dinosaurio joins him at the door. Genuinely confused, the young dinosaur offers. “Hola amigo, what’s up? Everything ok? You look nervous, need another take of the interview or something?”
Polite, friendly; Pequeno Dinosaurio had been the picture of chivalry for almost a year straight now, anything Donzig had to say surely couldn’t change that.
Blake seems to relax a bit, unlike some performers, Dinosaurio seemed legitimately concerned about his well being following his manhandling via Sinclair Godfrey. “Actually, I’m back to get your response to Donzig’s latest video…”
Union Jack is the first to speak, “So the bloke known for being angry all the time, is…angry? What a twist! Hemingway himself couldn’t have penned it better. Look, I don’t see the problem here. Things are as they should be, Donzig is whining and complaining, and we don’t care. That’s what he does, he whines. Incessantly. He’s probably hold up somewhere in the arena whining as we speak.”
Moving the microphone to Pequeno Dinosaurio, the rookie standout is more than ready to oblige.
“You talk about an embarrassment ese? With the company you’ve kept? Seriously, even if you are a solo act, you have the nerve to call me an embarrassment? You talk about my integrity when you take up arms alongside scum. Your opinion means nothing since you obviously have no clue what makes a decent human being.”
The young dinosaur is a blaze of anger,”You dare to mention my father. Suggest my father should retire out of shame cabron? You’re not what you claim to be. You’re not any more special than I am. No more talented. You just bark louder and more often, that’s it. You’re a spoiled chihuahua barking until it gets what it wants. Worse yet? Owners cater to people like you and Gus Arnold will be no different.” Through his anger truth rang out, Gus had taken more from Donzig than most and seemed prepared to take more still. Not Dinosaurio, he would have no more.
If Donzig wanted to shoot, fine. They’d shoot. Looking first to Blake and then to the camera, there was no turning back now. “The only reason Donzig is exclusive to NPW is because he hasn’t lost here yet. The second he does, watch ese, you’ll see his true colours, yellow running right up his backside amigo and he’ll be back to jobbing in NLW before anyone can say ‘overrated.’”
In a moment of weakness, the otherwise kind spirited Dinosaurio felt bad, but pushed it aside. Donzig would have no such remorse, he couldn’t afford to either.
Knowing the high flying half of Bear-O-Dactyl’s words would likely draw the ire of ‘The Chosen of the Boyd’, he was content to rest on them.
Throwing his hands up as though he’s got no intentions of following that, Union Jack is practically stunned by the anger drawn from his friend. Turning back to the dressing room, the door shuts without another word from either of them.
“Well, there you have it folks. Bear-O-Dactyl not backing down from Donzig, it looks like he might want to find himself a partner if this is to truly go anywhere. But we’ll see Donzig and maybe even Bear-O-Dactyl later on during what promises to be an action packed edition of Honor. I’m Blake Samuels and I’ll see you at ringside!”
The camera fades focused just as it started, on the door that separated Bear-O-Dactyl from the roster at large. Business was about to pick up.
