'I was very angry earlier.' said the quiet voice of Sinclair Godfrey, as she shook a match out as candle light washed over her features. And she frowned, tossing the match aside before she lifted a hand to let her fingers move through the dancing flame of the candle before it fell back to the table. A sniff, and she licked her lips before giving a shrug. 'You see, Apathy. I was trying to show you a kindness. I didn't want to have to hurt you at Honor, I didn't want to have to beat you from pillar to post to make you accept that I am superior.'
Sinclair shrugged, and smirked slightly.
'You see, despite what you and everyone else think? I am not like Donzig.' A slight frown. 'Donzig is cold, merciless, I am his closest ally and I don't even think he would spare me if it served his ends. He is a machine, consumed by his desire to bring everyone down into Oblivion with him, to drag everyone into the maw of the Void. If you ever spoke to Donzig the way you spoke to me?'
Sinclair shivered, and tilted her head before sighing.
'Well, Apathy. Let's not dwell on such unpleasantness. But the point remains, you did say some things that I can't accept. That I didn't like, and frankly I know very well if I let you run your mouth? The rest of these harpies will run their mouths, and challenge me again! And I am not going to tolerate that, you see as much as you think I am just the Queen of the North because Donzig is the King? I promise you that is a mistaken impression. I have beaten the best of the Amazons of SWAT and NPW, I have won third place in the Anzac Cup. I have been pinned once, one time since I have been here!'
A frown, and Sinclair absently inspected her own black painted nails before she leaned forward on the table.
'Do you really think you're the one Apathy? Do you really think you can defy the Baroness? I have been touched by the hand of the Void, I have stared into the Abyss, and the Empty Night whispers to me in my dreams. I will not be denied my destiny by the lacks of you, Apathy. And since you won't kneel? I will break you.'
A tilt of her head, and she shrugged as a hand slowly lifted. And her fingers closed on that flame, putting them out with a hiss. 'I will snuff you out, Apathy. I gave you fair warning.'
Sinclair shrugged, and smirked slightly.
