During the hour one intermission...
Seated in one of the executive boxes in the Scotiabank centre, the ever impeccably dressed Chris Card is relaxing with members of Kobra and the Lotus. The members of the band look a little drained, the usual post performance adrenaline drop catching up with them. Card, however, is buzzing with energy, carried by the energy of the crowd reaction to him earlier in the evening.
Chris Card: Booze, anyone?
Lord Marcus Lee: Get some brews up here. I’m sure we put some on our rider.
One of the road crew scutters off into the bowels of the stadium to fetch some alcohol for the performers. Card turns to the band and floats a question in their direction.
Chris Card: So, what do you think of the show so far?
Kobra Paige: Wrestling usually ain’t my thing. But I’m entertained.
Brad Kennedy: I dig it. Good seats up here to watch the action too.
Chris Card: This main event is gonna be a cracker. I’ll be on the edge of my seat.
Brad Kennedy: You know a lot about these guys then?
Chris Card: Donzig is a miserable dude, but he’s good between the ropes. You all saw him rock that Battle Royale. D, love his style. Zepp is impressive physically even if his wrestling ain’t to my tastes.
Lord Marcus Lee: And Steve Awesome?
Chris Card: You’ve been on the scene years. You know that lead singer who spends a little too long staring in the mirror and has a real cocky streak because not only are they good but they damn well know it?
The Band: Yeeeeeeeeees.
Chris Card: That’s Steve Awesome.
Kobra Paige: One of… those.
Jason Kulakowski: We’ve toured with a few bands who had “that guy” as a front man.
Chris Card: Problem is he’s actually damn good between the ropes. Now… where’s the booze?
The roadie bustles in with a crate of Molson Canadian and a bottle for Card.
Lord Marcus Lee: What you drinking, Chris?
Chris Card: Glen Breton single malt. Distilled up near Mabou. When in Nova Scotia, try the Nova Scotch… Now, I’m gonna focus on hour two of this show, folks. It’s gonna be a fun night.
