(Cliff Ragsdale is sitting behind the microphone in his studio on the outskirts of Vegas. He is dressed in his usual t-shirt and cape.)
Ragsdale: Thank you for joining us for another edition of the Ragz Podcast. I'm being joined this evening by the NUMBER ONE CONTENDER to the UP Wrestling Openweight Championship, Nathaniel, as well as his lovely girlfriend, Brittany.
(Nathaniel is wearing a Kurt Cobain t-shirt and nods at the camera. Brittany looks to be wearing a bit too much make-up as she is sporting a black Guns N Roses tee.)
Brittany: It's great to be here, Cliff. This show is gaining quite a following.
Ragsdale: Indeed it is. Our podcast is rapidly climbing up the ratings, just as Nathaniel has done. Nathaniel has really had a meteoric rise to the top since his debut earlier this year. He has had his doubters and his critics but nobody can deny his talent and his ability.
Brittany: We both know there are a lot of haters who are jealous of his success because he's not a second generation 'rassler nor was it ever his dream to become a professional wrestler. He fell into it and he's making all of these dreamers look look bad and they despise him for it!
Ragsdale: Let the haters hate. Nathaniel will be squaring off against the the UP Wrestling Openweight Champion.
(Nathaniel rolls his eyes and sighs.)
Ragsdale: What?
Nathaniel: Openweight? To me, it's still the WORLD Championship.
Ragsdale (cutting him off before he gets in trouble with the front office): Getting back to Bishop, he's a man who had a meteoric rise of his own. He has had the most impressive World er Openweight championship reign in the short history of UPW and he has built an organization that is top notch. I'm talking about The Black Hand.
(Nathaniel makes an obscene gesture.)
Nathaniel: Bishop has had plenty of success in UPW, I'll give him that, he's raised the bar in UPW but it's time for a change. We both know that The Black Hand isn't all that. How many times have we exposed them? You take Bishop out of the equation and what's left? Adam f'n Miller? Ha! The new and improved Kid Diaz? He left and made a big comeback on the same show? Come on....
Brittany: Yeah I love how he came back like this was some biiiiiig return like he was gone for a year. What a tool!
Ragsdale: And then there's Rain Blackhart, who is challenging our very own Dillan DeHaven for the Sin City Championship at Hostile Fury. (points to the Sin City Championship belt that is hanging in the background)
Brittany: Oooooooooh, Rain Blackheart! What a threat! He might be able to take Murphy but no way he can beat DeHaven.
Ragsdale: I must concur. Rain wasn't a bad tag wrestler but let's face it, he was the weak link on that team. He's been riding on the coattails of one Devin Bishop since he split with his old tag team partner. It's not that Rain is a bad wrestler but he is one of those ex-tag team wrestlers who would have been better off sticking with his partner. His partner has moved on and is having success without him and yet Rain is doing all that he can to prove that he is an "elite" singles wrestler. This guy is desperate for a big win, he's desperate for some gold, but desperate people do desperate things and we're prepared. Bring Terrance if you will, bring the Black Hand if you must, we will plan accordingly for any shenanegins.
Nathaniel: Terrance Christopher. What a douche.
Brittany: I knew all along he couldn't be trusted!
Ragsdale: We have another guest here tonight. Joining us via satellite is Mia Garcia. Mia, how are you this evening?
Garcia: I'm fine.
Ragsdale: What's your take on Rain Blackheart?
Garcia: Rain has really come a long way as a singles wrestler since splitting with Jester. Same thing with DeHaven. Remember these two broke into UPW as tag team wrestlers. They've really made names for themselves in recent months and I think this will be an extremely competitive match.
(Brittany laughs)
Brittany: Surely you jest! No pun intended.
(Garcia looks amused but says nothing.)
Ragsdale: Rain has since sold his soul to The Black Hand. That didn't do Diaz a lot of good in the long run.....
Brittany: But he split with the Old Bitch!
Nathaniel: Nobody gives a fuck about that old fossil.
Garcia: He was a big time manager at one point.
Nathaniel: Who cares?
Ragsdale: Let's talk about a few other things that took place on the show. TCE made his return to the professional wrestling to settle a score with Cage. Mia, what's your take on this?
Garcia: Well, we know that TCE is one of the true legends in this industry. You all heard what the man said. He is here for one reason and one reason only - he wants a piece of Cage.
Ragsdale: Of all the places Cage could have done his retirement tour, why did he choose UPW? While UPW is one of the fastest growing companies in the world, thanks to us (gestures to his crew), it's still a regional fed. Cage could have chosen one of his former employers to host his retirement tour but he came here instead. Why is that?
Garcia: Good question.
Ragsdale: I'll answer that. He figured he'd be in the ring with a buncha up and coming bush leaguers and ham 'n eggers that wouldn't give him any trouble. A couple of problems with that....number one, us so-called "bush leaguers" have given him a lot more competition than he bargained for, and number two, he didn't expect any of his former rivals to follow him here. He probably figured "upstart fed, low budget", figured they couldn't afford these other big names. And now Cage has to deal with TCE and this wolverine guy.
Brittany: His name is Wolverine.
Ragsdale: And given his track record, he's capable of ruining not only Cage's career but his life. Cage's dream retirement tour has turned into a nightmare and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. (evil grin)
Garcia: He is a great guy, longtime fan favorite, still one of the most popular wrestlers in the world.
Ragsdale: What good has it done him? He couldn't beat us and now he's in a real bind. Bet he wishes he would have just stayed retired. I wouldn't want TCE on my ass if I were him. It wouldn't surprise me if we see Cage disappear. He knows he's in over his head at this point.
Garcia: How do you know?
Ragsdale: Ask that punk from Memphis we ran outta here or Major Mayhem or Bryan Black. These goody two shoes acts just don't have the mental toughness or intestinal fortitude that some of us on this side of the fence have. When the heat gets to be too much, they high tail it outta here like the cowards that they are.
Garcia: Interesting perspective but those are names you mentioned are not Cage. This guy is a true legend, Hall of Famer, has held many world championships.
Nathaniel: That was yesterday! Forget about yesterday already!
Ragsdale: Right! Cage couldn't beat us. That's gotta leave a psychological scar on him, being beaten by much younger competitors that he sees as inferior. He acted as though he didn't know our names before but he will never forget them now. We ruined his momentum and now he will go on to feel the wrath of his old rivals as he slowly fades into obscurity. It's such a pity we won't see him around for much longer.
Garcia: You have had a lot to say about Cage.
Ragsdale: He trained that lousy excuse for a man, Ron Masterson. Anybody that's in with Bryan Black and Ruby and Pixi and that crew gets no respect from me.
Garcia: Bryan Black is on leave but Pixi and Ruby have had plenty of success. Ruby is racking up with after win, which is amazing, at his age.
Ragsdale: He's another one whose gas tank is running on empty. As far as Pixi goes, she didn't get the job done against Nathaniel, did she?
(Nathaniel has a smug look on his face.)
Brittany: You hear her talking smack about going after the World (in a disrespecting tone) oh I mean Openweight Championship?
Nathaniel: That's MY shot. She lost. She needs to listen to her manager and get in the back of the line.
Ragsdale: She's a bit stubborn, perhaps too stubborn for her own good.
Garcia: Can I ask a question?
Ragsdale: Sure.
Garcia: Question for Nathaniel. Did you hear what Maddox and Candy said about you?
Nathaniel (dismissively): Ask me if I give a rat's ass.
Brittany: Right! Who cares what Maddox and Candy think?
Ragsdale: Maddox is a pretender. He acts as though he's a top tier player and the number one contender to the Openweight Championship. What exactly did he accomplish to make that claim? Maddox talks a big game but he's all talk. He's just a follower who does whatever Candy tells him to do. He's kissing Pixi's ass and trying to get in with her group. He can hashtag all he wants but that won't change the fact that this is the guy who dropped his belt to RILEY WALKER, a man that Dillian beat twice. If the guy couldn't hold onto the Sin City Championship against inferior competition, what makes him think he is capable of being World Champion?
Brittany: Openweight!
Ragsdale: Whatever. (points to Nathaniel) You're all looking at the NEXT UPW Openweight Champion and there is nothing that Bishop, The Black Hand, Maddox, Pixi, or her group of misfits can do about it.
(End of segment)
