(The camera opens up to the interior of the UP Wrestling studio where we find Mia Garcia sitting in a dark gray padded chair. There’s a small round table, and then another chair set up. Mia is dressed in a dark red blouse, black skirt, and smiles off camera. We see Ron Masterson walk in, dressed in a pair of jeans and a white UP Wrestling t-shirt. He’s followed behind by Donnie D. Falco, Alison, and Cage, though Cage stays in the back. Ron sits down in the chair as Mia shakes his hand.)
MIA: Thanks for making yourself available for this, Ron.
RON: Oh it’s my pleasure, Mia.
MIA: Looks like you brought some support.
RON: (smile) I did.
MIA: Hi everyone.
(The trio of camera wave, Donnie keeping his eyes on Ron, Cage leaning up against the wall.)
MIA: Alright, we ready?
PRODUCER: (off screen) Ready when you are.
MIA: Okay, let’s get started.
(The green light on the camera goes live, and Mia smiles to the camera.)
MIA: Hello everyone, and welcome to another exclusive interview from UP Wrestling on the XHF Network, I’m Mia Garcia and with me today is a former Sin Cit Champion, Tag Team Champion, and star of UP - Ron Masterson. Ron, thanks for coming in today.
RON: Absolutely, happy to do it. It’s been awhile since we’ve had a chance to chat.
MIA: It certainly has. I wanted to bring you in today because in the recent weeks, you’ve found yourself in the middle of a conflict. You’ve long had a great relationship with Donnie D. Falco, your manager and mentor, and recently we’ve seen pro wrestling legend Cage join UP to team with you. However, this hasn’t been without a few pitfalls. Recently, an old face from Cage’s past, TCE, has emerged.
RON: Yes he has.
MIA: And it seems like TCE seems to have you in his sights. Not only in the ring, as the two of you have an upcoming match on the next Friday Night Free For All, but he’s also been saying some things recently, directed at you, that seems to play to the idea that Cage is only using you.
RON: Yeah, and I’d love to talk about that.
MIA: Well, the floor is yours.
RON: Listen, one of the things in wrestling that Donnie has been teaching me, and I’ve learned in my short time, is the action in the ring only ever seems to be part of the competition. You have a whole lot of people who are good at talking. Your Ragsdale’s, your TCE’s. Heck there’s probably a few more you could pepper in there like the Black Hand. But the thing is, they always talk. Sure, they might finally get in the ring, or be forced to put their money where their mouth is, but it’s never enough for them.
MIA: How so?
RON: Well take TCE for instance. This past week he could’ve stepped into the ring at any point, but he left Chad to take a beating for him. He’s all talk. He was so fast to jump on a microphone to talk crap when he could’ve been in the ring trying to prove it.
MIA: And you don’t think he wants to?
RON: No, not in a straight up fight. I accepted his challenge for Friday Night, and I know going into it he’s going to be all talk. He’s gonna try another stunt. He’s not interested in actually climbing in the ring with me, or Cage, he’s interested in the game of it. I’ve watched TCE matches, he’s all about opportunity. Not hard work, but the easy way to win.
MIA: Those are some high accusations - the man is a Hall of Famer, a legend in the business, a man who’s held titles and, as he and your friend Cage have pointed out, has more victories over Cage then defeats.
RON: But look at how he’s won them. Have they ever been clean? Have they ever been definitive? TCE talks a good game but Cage is still here. TCE talks about being here for one reason, but yet he’s talked himself into fighting me. I don’t mind, I’ll be happy to do it, but again, he’s all talk. And on Friday, the talking stops - maybe. MAYBE TCE will finally climb into the ring to prove something, but he won’t do it clean. I’ll expect some game, and Donnie and Cage have already figured he’d do it. TCE is delusional, he’s good at the game, he’s not good in the ring.
MIA: Ron, with all due respect, you don’t think this is just going to rile him up? Make him more dangerous?
RON: You know what, I hope so.
DONNIE: (off screen) Ron…
RON: No, I really hope so, because then he’s got to prove it. Donnie, Cage, even Alison will be keeping eyes out for whatever trick he might have planned, but I want him in the ring. And I’ll beat him, too. And then, when I’ve beaten him, he’ll have a couple weeks to chew on that before he climbs in the ring with Cage. And Cage? Cage is going to beat him. And all that TALK that TCE has done about how if Cage beats him now it won’t matter? We’ll see just how much crap that is, because that’s exactly what it is. TCE can talk, but he knows WHEN Cage beats him, it’ll eat him up.
(Ron stands up from the chair, looking directly at the camera.)
RON: TCE, you can try and talk your way out of it, you can try and talk your way into believing it, but the next month for you is looking really stormy. And Friday, I’ll bring the lightning, and at Hostile Fury, Cage will prove lightning strikes twice - cause we’re gonna take you down.
(A determined, borderline angry Ron Masterson walks off set, past Donnie, Alison, and Cage, and out of the studio.)
MIA: I… uh… well thank you to Ron Masterson for coming in today, and we all look forward to that match. For Mia Garcia, thank you!
(The camera light turns off, and Mia walks over to the trio still in the studio, looking toward the door Ron just left out of.)
MIA: What was that?
CAGE: He’s getting ready for TCE. He's gonna make a believer out of him.
(Alison makes her way out the door while Mia, Donnie, and Cage stand there. Fade to black.)
MIA: Thanks for making yourself available for this, Ron.
