Robinson Family Baptism

The Robinson Family is... 
Jumbo Robinson (Former defensive end and current wrestler)
Jett Robinson (Former track and field star and current wrestler)
Junior Robinson (Manager and oldest son, confined to wheelchair)



[Open Scene: It’s not a hotel room, but an extended stay apartment of some sort. A man in a wheelchair sits next to the couch, his eyes intently watching a television screen. On that screen is UP Wrestling’s Episode XXXII and the match is the House of Salvaje vs. Wicked.]





“AYO!!!!!!”


[The man in the wheelchair yells. He has a yellow notepad and pen on his lap. The commotion continues.]


“AYOOOOO!!!!!!”


[The loud sounds continue unabated. The wheelchaired man wheels himself over to the a dinner table where a mug sits and hurls it at their door. The sound of glass breaking is followed by complete silence.]


“AYOOOOOO!!!”


[The door slowly creaks open. Two young men creep out, walking gingerly to avoid stepping on glass. One man is much taller and girthier than the other. They are both shirtless and wearing only boxers and socks. Jumbo is holding a bucket of popcorn while Jett has a jug of soda.]


“What’s your deal man? We were just trying to celebrate our win!”


[The larger man is named Jumbo which is an apt description of his size.]


“Yeah, come on… you know we’re just chillin’! Also, you didn’t have to go break a whole glass.”


[The smaller man is named Jett. His slim stature gives one the impression that he can probably run fast.]


“You had three whole days to celebrate and now it’s time to work. You have a match against Wicked and you are going to go into that match prepared.”


[The man in the wheelchair is Junior. He looks noticeably older than his two brothers. More world wearied, a counterbalance to the naiveté Jett and Jumbo wear on their faces like uniforms.]


Jumbo: “Wicked? What are they about?”


Junior, picks up the remote control: “Take a Look.”


[The television shows the beginning of the Wicked vs. House of Salvaje match. Vile and Vicious are enter and look menacing…[


Jett: “One of them is a GIRL? Give me a break…”


[Wicked then launches into the House of Savaje, giving them a vicious beating. Vile, in particular, lands strike after strike on Candy.]


Jett: “Oh…”


[The trio continue to watch the match, which has turned into outright mayhem. Vile HEADBUTTS Candy and both women are bleeding…]


Jumbo: “Yo, what in the world?”

[The match finishes and Jumbo and Jett look at each other in shock.]


Jumbo: “But they lost the match. Big boy and his wife, after all of THAT, they still got outsmarted and beaten.”


Junior: “Nevermind that… Do you see what they are doing here?”


Jett, raises his hand: “They are trying to send us a message, huh?”


Junior: “Exactly, they want this match to be a BAPTISM and YOU guys have to show them that you belong in UP Wrestling. I mean, I don’t know about you guys, I don’t want to upset my dad but I also don’t want to look like a bunch of punks either, right?”


Jett & Jumbo: “Right.”


Junior: “So let’s get to work!”
