Ok I have a fun idea. What would be your ideal 6 mon team? ANd this means both in terms of who you like but would also win you some badges. Rules are assume you actually live in the pokemon world so no legendaries (cuz they're only one and you aren't special!!!) and only one starter per team (should you want one). ALso assume Sun/Moon rules on travel so no need for an HM slave. Other than that go wild.
1. Tyranitar - Badass dark/rock who learns some amazing moves, gets his d boosted by his sand stream ability and is a tank and a beast. One of the best guys around and one of my favorites. 2. Ampharos - best electric type imo and can become a dragon when mega'd 3. Gengar - super fast, crazy sp. attack and gets my my move coverage for dark, ghost, and psychic, and can learn mean look or some nasty status attacks too. 4. Typhlosion - my favorite pokemon. So yes Charizard is better and some of the other fire guys have better movepools but... I'll take him. He can get solarbeam for those nasty water types 5. Lucario - Almost went hitmonlee but better coverage and the ability to take a hit unlike Lee. Resists dragons too. 6. Gyarados - Rain Dance/Hurricane/Dragon Dance/either Aqua Tail or Waterfall. My flying/water needs taken care of with the baddest of non-dragon dragons.
Honorable Mentions: I was close to adding Hitmonlee, Dragonite, Charizard, Alakazaam, Snorlax (who is my fourth favorite behind Typhlosion, Cyndaquil, and Tyranitar) cuz he is a BEAST when bred with Curse, Scizor, Archeops (so cool but Defeatist sucks), and Samurott (so cool, great coverage)

Ooh! I like this one! Great idea! Hmmm, no HMs needed; such a strange world this has become.
Anyway!
1. (starter) Typhlosion, because he's my homie even though he's probably the worst of the starters, lol 2. Gengar, you can't go wrong with a Gengar. Get like Shadow Ball, Hypnosis, Dream Eater and something else and you're good to go. 3. Blissy, no need to go back to the city to heal. I once spent like almost 3-4 level-ups for my team at sea in a game keeping everyone alive through softboiled. We came back with scars, and zero pp, lol. 4. Kingler, Kinglers are water tanks of mass killingness that have been the opposite of nerfed as time has passed 5. Glaceon, because some dickwad always brings a dragon 6. Ampharos, I agree that that the electric sheep is the best of its type. Also, it's an electric sheep.
Poor Snorlax used to be on my dream team, but Blissy is just too good to pass up.

This is hard for me because I read how well rounded your lists are and I want to create a well rounded team too, but that's never been me. I'm a mother fucking dragon 🐉 trainer through and through.
1. Charizard - not a dragon dragon like Dave said with beastkarp but the best fire type hands down and can learn flying and dragon moves. 2. Dragonite - to this day my favorite dragon. Can learn ice, electric (at least it could early on in the series, I'm not that up to date), water, and dragon moves. 3. Flygon - I like it mostly because it evolves from a sandy fly trap into a badass dragon. 4. Salmance - A true dragon beast 5. Hydreigon - ditto 6. Goodra - I'm just learning about goodra from playing my sons Pokémon Y and now having it in Sun and it's both cute and an awesome dragon.
I'd live to put Pokémon like Snorelax who is my favorite poke after Charizard but I have to stay true to my dragon types. I know one team with one or two powerful ice pokes would take me down but I've wanted to be a dragon tamer since the first time I played against Steven the dragon Pokémon league master all those years ago. Cheesy I know.

I only accept the first 151. Otherwise, you can GTFO.

1. Snorlax 2. Snorlax 3. Snorlax 4. Snorlax 5. Snorlax 6. Magikarp
Snorlax is a beast, and he sleeps while he kicks your ass. Magikarp is just there to rub it in your face that you lost to a team with a Magikarp on it.
BOOYAH!

Everyone benches their beloved Snorlaxes. They join Randy's army. I only accept the first 151. Otherwise, you can GTFO. Luckily for Scorps everyone else is sticking to gens 1-4 so his team is going to walk it. Good luck Dave with that Solarbeam Typhlosion in the same team as rain dance Gyarados and Tyranitar

1. Treecko (unevolved of course) Treecko is literally the coolest pokemon. 2. Flygon - My personal favorite, ground types are the best, and add in some dragon and the game is pretty much unfair. 3. Rhyperior - Another badass. 4. Unfezant - Critical hits for DAYS. 5. Crabdominable - For type coverage plus this thing is cool. 6. Ampharos - The best electric type, bar none.
Honorable mentions include: Talonflame, Glaceon, Tyrannitar, Zoroark, Arcanine, Sandslash, and Sceptile in case Treecko needs to be battleworthy

A) Ish: Also Sand Stream Tyranitar lolol. But that's why Typh has Sunny Day.
B) I also love me the dragons STeve but other than Dragonite I USUALLY default to the cool legendaries. Rayquaza is cool but Dialga may be my fav dragon. Ampharos mega evolves to a dragon as does CHarizard and Alolan Exeggutor as well.
C) Mongo Typhlosion isn't the WORST starter he is just surpassed by most other guys you would use as a pure fire type. But he's the coolest guy. And Cyndaquil is even cuter.
D) Randy your Lax team better be non-tourney rules and all carrying Curse/Rest/Chesto Berry or you are screwed with one well placed No Guard Machamp with Dynamic Punch. Snorlax normally has middling defense and is weak to fighting and Machamp is a monster in pure attack and with no-guard he auto hits you with a 50%accuracy move which auto confuses. Karp better be super buff in attack and speed and carrying a focus sash with flail.
E) I've only ever played through Black and White 1 so I can't speak to the X/Y or Sun/Moon guys but if I know my stuff from Go a well placed fairy trumps Glaceon by far for dragons. SIdenote I know it isn't popular but Vanilluxe is my boy. He is unusually good for a pure ice type and with hail and weather ball and ice body ability. Add in Acid Armor and bam he has some staying power. Not even beaten by a karp is as embarassing as losing to an ice cream cone .... cept maybe losing to a Stunfisk or Luvdisc
F) Kingler is great.
Followup question: Who is the weirdest mon you have used as a main member of your team? I have done some runs in Platinum and Heartgold where I wanted a mon of every type (dual types offered 2 coverages) so I ended up with like 12 guys (11 battlers and an HM slave). I once had a Jynx in my party who was oddly amazing. She was a true glass cannon though. I think at level 60 she had like 200 special attack and 180 speed but a defense of like 45. Tentacruel is also an oddly strong pokemon. Good sp. def. Plus the aforementioned Vanilluxe.

Okay I think I got it now.
1. Suge Knight 2. Jinder Mahal 3. Papa Shango 4. Cee Lo Green 5. Yogi the Bear 6. Posh Spice (from the Spice Girls)
I'm not trying to interfere I'm just attempting to get a grasp. I'm gonna be honest here, I threw all my Pokemon cards away in 7th grade because I was feeling rebellious so I made most of these names up myself but I'm trying to get back in the game because I have friends who are obsessed with Pokemon Go in the past year and I don't wanna look like an idiot when I talk Pokemon around them.

Dave, the weirdest Pokémon I can remember using was recently replaying Pokémon red I essentially won the game using just a Charizard and a dugtrio. The three headed clump of dirt killed anything my Charizard couldn't with dig.
PS. What's your Go dex looking like?

I don't want to speak for anyone but I think I can answer that question. I'd also like to improve my list because as I understand the other junior members of this league have been raising the stakes. But my count, this is what I've got. 1. Adolf Hitler and the Nazis 2. Everyone else is already dead Pretty solid team I think

This will be my last post in this thread. I'd like to issue a public apology to everyone. I was wrong to make any of this seem silly. I like stuff too so I get it. If I had not killed so many brain cells that I hadn't wiped the old gameboy games out of my memory, I might have been able to contribute, but alas, I chose a different path. But hey, fuck it. I hope someday you can all forgive me. If I'm not sure about our friendship/acquaintance status, occasionally I may peek-at-ch-you....... what the fuck have I become that I just said that....fuck.

The dex is ok. Other than legendaries I think I'm missing Snorlax and Lapras from Gen 1. Gen 2 is a little more muddy. Still need Tyrogue, Hitmontop, Larvitar, Pupitar, Hitmontop, Smoochum, Cleffa, Forretress, Meganium, Feraligatr, probably a few more in there too that I'm just spacing on. Oh and the regional exclusives of course.

It's not too surprising Scorps, Gen 1 diglett/dugtrio was mega broke. They were the fastest mon in the game (aside from voltorb) and they hit like bricks. But they've been undercut a ton and don't really work any more at all (I dread when it's time to evolve a diglett, which means actually having to use it)
