Victory was achieved. The King of the Streets defeated three other competitors and stomped his way to glory. David Berg is at the local gymnasium. Sweat drips from his shirtless tan torso, back and top of his head. His hair is soaked. His black shorts ruffle as he gulp down a bottle of water. The young lion of UPW is in training for him upcoming event against the diabolical Crimson Mask. A sound body equates to a sound mind as Berg resumes his grueling workout regimen, which is designed to build strength and endurance.
Berg begins with 20 Box Jumps. He jumps up and down on the three foot box as his leg muscles twitch. His claps his arms together each time and jumps down. He then proceeds to tricep push-ups..one..two…three………125…126…150..157….205…that is a record as Berg collapses to the cold floor with his arms sore as can be. This exercise must be done to failure. Berg flips over to his back and completes 20 leg raises, working on the abs as his sore arms rest and begin to recover. Berg then adroitly hops up and does 20 standing squats with perfect form. Now his arms feel better, he goes to a natural push up position and goes into his shoulder touches routine…one…two…three…45….70… 88…Berg collapses at 90. This routine is also done to failure. The veins in his powerful arms are popping and throbbing. Berg shifts to his rear end and moves to do 20 sitting twists. His six pack feels it as his arms still throb. He is sitting in a pool of sweat as only the cold floor is giving him any comfort. Berg hops up and completes 20 lunges, without hesitation he moves to the pull up bar and begins his pull up routine. Not to his neck but to his waist. One..two…25…42…at 45 Berg jumps down and he can barely feel his arms and lats. His body aches due to soreness, pain and exhaustion. But Berg is not done, he sits down and completes 20 sit ups. He stops and drinks a bottle of water. That was his 2nd set and he has five more to go. The rest is only two minutes. His arms, abs, lats and legs are throbbing but in a good way. This is how you build a weapon that will destroy his opponents in the ring.
Other gym members watch with a starry look in their eyes. The scene shifts as Berg finishes his 7th set. He is exhausted and mentally drained. He gulps down another bottle of water and a couple of great tasting Florida oranges. He leaves to jump in the shower. Shortly thereafter he comes back as the owner and Israeli liaison Harold Rosenstein greets him.
Rosenstein: Ahhh….young David, congratulations on your victory. My wife and I would like to have you over for dinner and a nice homemade meal.
This sounds great to Berg, who has been eating salads, pasta and grilled fish, steak and chicken since arriving in Florida. Berg nods as he catches his breath.
Rosentein: 7PM
Berg: I will be there, thank you.
Rosenstein: Where are you off to now?
Berg: I am going to the skate park.
Rosentstein: You skate?
Berg: A little but the park also has a parkour course.
Rosenstein: You just worked out?
Berg: That was the morning workout. This is my afternoon workout.
Rosenstein: You do this daily?
Berg: Every other day. Two of the days I lift heavy too. I love it.
Rosenstein: Is parkour difficult?
Berg: I am constructing a body designed to carry minimal body fat but maximum power. This allows me to vault over obstacles or scale a ring or a ladder at a moment’s notice. I am building myself to be a weapon to entertain the fans and to show pride in my country and my new host country, America.
Rosenstein: We will have extra portions for your for dinner!
Berg: Thank you, kindly.
The scene fades as Berg walks off, headed for some relaxation at the beach.
