Clash at Queen's, Derby
November 30th, 2021
Queen's Hall (Upper Floor), Derby, England
November 30th, 2021
Queen's Hall (Upper Floor), Derby, England
An overhead camera pans around the packed upper floor of Queen's Hall as the (thankfully) mask-wearing crowd are getting warmed up by backstage interviewer, Burt Tennor, who seems to be hosting tonight's festivities.
Burt Tennor: LET THEM HEAR IT! WHO ARE WE!?
REIGN! REIGN! REIGN!
Burt Tennor: WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO!?
REIGN! REIGN! REIGN!
As the crowd gets whipped into a fury, the camera makes its way down to a table right at ringside featuring REIGN's commentary crew.
Block: Hello everyone and welcome to REIGN! I am Vincente Block here with Chet Fletcher and we're the voices of REIGN and will be calling the action all night!
Fletcher: Yeah, all two matches of it.
Block: But what a two match night we've got! Both the North American Standard AND the Catch-as-Catch-Can plate are on the line tonight!
Fletcher: Yeah, which hopefully means some real violence as the people in the ring scratch and claw their way to victory!
Block: Or....good solid wrestling? Yes, good solid wrestling is good too.
Fletcher: Whatever.
Block: First up for tonight’s REIGN debut is a tag team match to crown the first plate owner. I am excited! The moment history is made is not far away Chet.
Fletcher: It doesn’t take much to get you excited either. Nonetheless, this is huge and we’ll witness who exactly has what it takes to find victory and make the most of their opportunity in this match.
Burt Tennor: The following match is scheduled for ONE fall, and is a Tag Team match for the North American standard plate! The competitor to make the pin fall will be the victor of the plate.
Block: This should prove interesting.
Fletcher: Interesting indeed. How will these teams use that stipulation and will it affect their team work?
Burt Tennor: Introducing first, hailing from Oblivion, weighing in tonight at a combined 620 pounds — The Oblivion Death Squad, Mormo and Moloch!
The lights go down with a wail of sirens, and searchlights sweep over the crowd before focusing on the ramp as the music hits. Stomping side by side the KGB Death Squad emerges from the back. Behind them follows Donzig or Sinclair Godfrey, who motion for them to head for the ring. They pause at the bottom of the ramp, glaring about before they storm the ring. Yelling as they pace around the inside of the ropes as they wait for their opponents. Sinclair walks down after, taking her place ringside as she aims to manage the team as Donzig leaves to the back.
Burt Tennor: introducing their opponent, first for the other team - hailing from Cologne, Germany, weighing in at 145 pounds, Death’s Favorite Assassin, Esmeralda von Krauss!
The small hall on the upper floor of Queen’s Hall, Derby, England went quiet as the music hit. Out walked one of the fiercest and dangerous women in all of professional wrestling - and now in REIGN. Her down the short entrance ramp was nothing short of intimidating, no matter how big the opponents she faced tonight were, Esmeralda von Krauss wore the RBF on her face with valor.
Fletcher: Don’t dare take this woman for granted. Esmeralda is no slouch, and she has proven it time and time again.
Block: Never would, just look at her and that face.
Fletcher: She might even slap you if she heard you say that.
Block: (gulp)
Burt Tennor: Introducing her partner, hailing from Syracuse, New York by way of Scottsdale, Arizona! She weighed in tonight at 129 pounds, the Firecracker, Dakota Jennings!
As the word “Firecracker” appears on the large screen, red and green laser lights spin around the arena as Foo Fighters begin to sing the opening to the song. Then the word fades and is replaced by the name “Dakota” as the redhead makes her way out to the stage area, the fans becoming thunderous in their applause for her. She raises a single arm up before making her way down the aisle. Reaching the ring, she confidently strides up the steps before stepping under the second rope before climbing up one of the turnbuckles, raising a defiant middle finger toward her opponent as the fans cheer her relentlessly.
Fletcher: Time to see what these ladies do with the Oblivion Death Squad. Can they make their first victory worth wild, or will it be a Death Squad celebration tonight?
Block: I wouldn’t envy any Oblivion member in there.
Fletcher: They out weigh both of these ladies by twice their size though.
Block: I’ve been married. A woman’s size means nothing in regards to how much damage they can do if you piss them off Chet.

North American Standard Plate
Whoever Makes the Pin Wins the Plate
Esmeralda von Krauss and Dakota Jennings vs The Oblivion Death Squad (w/Sinclair Godfrey)
The bell sounds and this one is underway. Dakota Jennings starts the match off with Moloch, weaving under a grapple and hitting the ropes, full house dropkicking the right knee and sending Moloch to the floor. A quick elbow drop to the back of the neck, and Dakota rolls him over with an armbar conversion using the knees for leverage, hooking him in an upside down pin attempt right off the bat!
1!
2!
Kick out! Moloch gets up angrier than a raccoon evicted from it’s garbage glory, and swings with a clothesline, Dakota ducks! Rolling under it, another dropkick - this time to the back of the waist! She sends Moloch into the ropes, Mormo tags his chest, and Moloch comes back, GERMAN SUPLEX from Dakota! Mormo is in and nails the rising Dakota with a double axe handle to the back, squashing her momentum as Moloch rolls out of the ring following the impact of her german suplex.
Fletcher: What technical prowess from Dakota!
Block: That is what brought her to the End of Days finals and almost won it for her.
Mormo slings Dakota to the ropes and grabs her as she returns, POWERSLAM! The ring in Queen’s Derby shakes like an earthquake from the move. Esmeralda von Krauss is quick to break up the pin count, if only eager to get in and have her go at Mormo. Slamming a fist to the side of Dakota’s head, Mormo looks onto ringside where Sinclair is demanding more punishment of her monsters. Mormo lifts Dakota and sets her up for a powerbomb.
Fletcher: This could get ugly real quick.
Block: It certainly doesn’t bode well for Dakota if she’s slammed through the ring. That ring doesn’t even look safe enough for a move like this.
Fletcher: She’s almost touching the ceiling at this height too.
Lifting her high up into the air, she slips out of the grip and behind his back, roundhouse kick to the turning Mormo lands right on the temple! Dakota hits the ropes, ducks a swinging clothesline, hits the ropes again, Esmeralda tags herself in off the back of Dakota, and Jennings nails Mormo with a leaping double knee to the face! Her weight landing on Mormo’s chest as she reaches back for the leg and a pin. The referee argues she isn’t legal, and she is confused. Esmeralda steps in and tells Dakota to get out of her ring.
Block: What did we say earlier?
Fletcher: Seeing just how these two would coexist has been answered. No love lost between Jennings and Krauss.
A heavy arsenal of strikes and kicks keeps the rising Mormo to a knee as Krauss shows what she’s made of. A lethal assassin with her ground and pound game, using her legs like swords to slice the opposition down and bend them to her will. Mormo catches a left leg and rises up, thinking that he’s going to capture suplex - headbutte from Krauss! A second headbutte! Mormo’s nose is busted open!
Fletcher: First blood!
Block: Krauss with an enziguri!
Mormo spins and hits the referee, bumping him through the ropes to the outside. Dakota sees this and checks for Sinclair who has already gone to grab a chair. Sliding in the ring, Sinclair looks ready to even the odds for her team as she reaches Krauss and swings. Dakota grabs the chair out of her hands from behind! Krauss hits a reverse DDT on Sinclair! Chair shot to Moloch on the apron by Dakota! Another to Mormo who rises to his feet at the worst time!
Fletcher: Chair shots all around, courtesy of Dakota!
Block: I was waiting for her to hit Krauss too.
Fletcher: I wouldn’t put it past her. These two are not friends, no matter if they are partners or not.
The Queen’s Hall crowd is blown up with cheers as this match just changed course and the women had the Oblivion Death Squad down! Tossing the chair out of the ring does Dakota, as Sinclair is rolled out by Krauss. Dakota goes to the apron, and as Mormo lays their looking dead - Krauss sees the referee enter the ring. Dakota has her back to the ropes and Krauss shrugs and runs at the ropes where she is, BOOM! Bouncing Dakota off the apron and taking a nasty bump on the outside as Krauss hits a running leg drop on Mormo and goes for the cover.

3!
Bell sounds and Dakota Jennings jumps up, pissed off as she sees Esmeralda von Krauss have her arm raised and presented the North American Plate! Krauss gives her a head tilt and mouths “You snooze you lose” as the fans boo her for the cheap tactic to steal the plate.
Burt Tennor: Winners of this match, the team of Dakota Jennings and EVK, also known as YOUR NEW NORTH AMERICAN PLATE holder, ESMERALDA VON KRAUSS!
Block: What a close and exciting match!
Fletcher: A hot start to our show and a sign that maybe this'll be more fun than I imagined!
Burt Tennor: The following match for the Catch Wrestling Plate is scheduled for five rounds of five minutes and to be won by two falls or submissions or ONE knockout.
Block: Catch wrestling, the old British style. And isn’t Derby the perfect place to hold this debut match for this plate.
Fletcher: I’m not sure Derby is the perfect place for anything, Vicky!
Burt Tennor: Introducing first, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the United States of America, he weighed in tonight at fifteen stone, five pounds, This is DOOOOOONZIIIIIIIG!
The lights go down then come up an angry red. Flames explode from the either side of the ramp, jets and bursts of flame erupting into the air. Donzig walks from the back, wearing his skull mask with his hood up. He pauses, glaring out across the crowd before he shakes his head before walking down the ramp slowly. He circles around the ring, still watching the crowd before pausing to watch the announce team before he climbs the stairs. He stops at the ropes, reaching up to shove his hood back before stepping through the ropes. Then he takes off the mask, and shakes his head at the fans with a scowl before he leans back in his corner. Arms resting on the ropes while waiting for the match to start.
The rowdy crowd engages in a hearty round of boos
Block: It’s a riled up and rowdy crowd in here tonight.
Fletcher: I’ll tell you soomething, Vicky. I already have my after show drinks prepared. In Nottingham.
“It goes, it goes, it goes, it goes
It goes, it goes, it goes, it goes
Guillotine yah”
It goes, it goes, it goes, it goes
Guillotine yah”
The sounds of ‘Guillotine’ are soon heard as the lights strobe down onto the entrance ramp in a white and gold hue, soon thereafter saw the arrival of SOBERANO — a stare towards the ring before glancing over towards the crowd at both sides. SOBERANO removes his white and gold ring jacket and soon makes his quick paced walk to the ring, sliding under the bottom rope and bringing himself back to his feet as he circles around the ring.
Burt Tennor: And his opponent, hailing from Parts Unknown, he weighed in tonight and fourteen stone and one pound, SOOOOOBERAAAAANO!
Fletcher: What do we know about SOBERANO, Vick?
Block: Less than nothing. The man is a mystery and he plays off that.
Fletcher: Typical for these masked types. Well, Donzig knows how to hurt people and it won’t matter to him!

Donzig vs SOBERANO
Burt Tennor: SECONDS OUT, ROUND ONE!
DINGDINGDING!
It’s a Greco Roman knuckle lock to start, Donzig quickly using his height and power advantage to force SOBERANO to arch his back to take some of the pressure off. Donzig steps through and switches to a top wristlock, controlling The Man Of Mystery and applying force directly through his arm and onto his shoulder. SOBERANO, however, has a huge agility advantage and rolls through, reversing the pressure. SOBERANO stretches the arm out and uses the distance to throw a stiff kick to the midsection of Donzig which he takes like a man. The Man From Parts Unknown tries to step through, wrapping Donzig’s arm into a wristlock and feeling for the other arm, perhaps looking for Artificial Death but Donzig steps through to reverse the pressure again and whips SOBERANO over with an arm drag, dropping to his knees with it and holding onto the arm bar on the ground. SOBERANO smartly wriggles a leg out towards the bottom rope and a break is called for by Alexei Fernandes.
Block: Cagey start from both men here.
Fletcher: Look, you don’t win a match like this in the opening round. Not unless you’ve got that one knockout shot in your arsenal. Play it smart.
After the pair stand up, SOBERANO throws a mighty European Uppercut that staggers Donzig a couple of paces. The Plague roars back at him, demanding that The Man Of Mystery hits him again. Another firm European Uppercut and this time it’s only half a pace back. Another mighty roar, daring SOBERANO to hit him again. The Masked Man fires a third off and this time Donzig has had ENOUGH of this shit, landing punch after punch to SOBERANO’s masked face. Referee Fernandez pulls the two apart and loudly commands,“No closed fists!” Donzig grunts, takes two seconds of breather and smashes SOBERANO in the face with a massive elbow strike that gives the man from Parts Unknown pause for thought.
Block: No closed fists in a catch wrestling bout. We have a referee here who’s going to stick to the rules.
Fletcher: Rules, schmules. He’s going to miss a call eventually, we all know that. It’s merely a case of when, not if.
SOBERANO comes back into the action quickly, catching Donzig the second the referee has moved out of the way. A blitz of strikes comes in, knife edge chop, forearm smash, knife edge chop, forearm smash and Donzig is staggered. SOBERANO spins on the spot and winds up a HUGE Rolling Uraken that staggers The Plague backwards towards the ropes. Donzig covers up, anticipating another high strike but SOBERANO anticipates this and goes for the side of Donzig’s leg with a leg kick that sends a loud cracking sound around the arena. Donzig drops to a knee, his ability to support his own bodyweight temporarily taken away from him and SOBERANO winds up and swings his arm in a downwards arc, SMACKING his elbow into the side of Donzig’s skull
ONE!
TWO!
TH...
DINGDINGDING!
Block: Is that a point for SOBERANO?
Fletcher: Check the referee, Blockhead. He called for the end of the round. Still zero to zero.
Bert Tennor: SECONDS OUT, ROUND TWO!
DINGDINGDING!
The two men are cagey to start round two. SOBERANO tries to manoeuvrer into position to take a mighty shot with his powerful kicks but Donzig keeps enough clear air between them that The Mystery Man whiffs and achieves nothing more than slicing the cool Derbyshire air. Donzig ducks inside and grabs a back waistlock, trapping SOBERANO’s arms around his own waist in a vice like grip. Donzig tries to feel round for an inverted headlock, prehaps looking for an inverted DDT but SOBERANO ducks out and slithers his way loose of the grip, the pair now only attached at the wrist. SOBERANO again looks for the other arm of Donzig, this time catching it and The Man From Parts Unknown places the flat of his boot into Donzig’s thigh, trying to force The Plague down to a knee and set up Artificial Death again.
Block: SOBERANO is looking to knee Donzig’s face off right now!
Fletcher: You don’t get into pro wrestling unless you want to knee someone’s face off, Vicky.
SOBERANO flings his knee at Donzig’s face, pulling him in. But Donzig knows the situation and he shoots forward, underneath the arc of the Artificial Death and hits a jawbreaker on The Man of Mystery as he gets back to his feet. SOBERANO staggers backwards, off balance through the amount of effort he put into that strike and the sudden impact of Donzig’s head on his chin and Donzig doesn’t need inviting twice. BOOT TO THE STOMACH, THREE QUARTER FACELOCK, DONZIG STUNNER!
Block: STUNNER! STUNNER! STUNNER!
Donzig drapes an arm over the fallen SOBERANO and referee Fernandes starts to count…
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
Donzig stands and backs off to allow the ref to continue his count.
F… SOBERANO stands and begins to retreat towards his corner near immediately.
DINGDINGDING!
Block: Just a pinfall, but that’s one-zero to Donzig.
Fletcher: Three rounds to go and SOBERANO has to take at least one of them. Two would be preferable.
Block: Unless he can knock Donzig out, of course.
Fletcher: Donzig has a hard head. He’s no glass jawed weakling, that’s for sure.
Burt Tennor: SECONDS OUT, ROUND THREE!
DINGDINGDING!
SOBERANO looks annoyed at being caught with a Donzig Stunner. He comes running out of his corner right on the bell, throwing kicks and strikes as he instantly bushwhacks Donzig. The Plague is backed into a corner and SOBERANO keeps firing off meaty chops, bringing out his bearded opponent’s chest in bright red welts. The Mystery Man doesn’t stop until referee Fernandes gets to four of a five count, followed by a stern lecture.
Block: You have to break in that situation. Already a fall down, you don’t want to give away the win with a DQ.
Fletcher: Do what you want. But don’t walk straight into a loss by doing it.
With his opponent looking stunned and gingerly walking out of the corner, SOBERANO gets up to full speed, hitting the far ropes, bouncing off them and sprinting the distance of the ring before diving through the middle and top rope gap, grabbing onto the top rope as a pivot and spinning out into a huge DISCUS LARIAT! Donzing drops to the mat with the sheer force of the blow and SOBERANO drops to cover…
ONE!
TWO!
TH.. Donzig kicks out!
Block: ABSOLUTION! That could have been it! That was so close!
Fletcher: No points for close, not in this game.
SOBERANO backs up, looking to land a killing blow and he charges at Donzig as the Pennsylvania native stands up. SOBERANO goes for a huge knee strike, looking to knock Donzig out and end this match with the point of his patella. Donzig looks groggy, wounded even as SOBERANO sails through the air…BUT DONZIG GRABS HIM MID FLIGHT AND JACK HIM UP INTO A HUUUUUUGE POP UP POWERBOMB!
Block: WHAT A REVERSAL! POP UP POWERBOMB!
Referee Fernandes counts…
ONE!
Instead of holding on for the pin, Donzig holds onto a leg and turns over into a Half Boston Crab! Donzig’s frown turns into a sickening grin as he torques on the hold, leaning back to put as much pressure on as he can manage. SOBERANO struggles and strains, reaching out towards the ropes and attempting to shuffle close enough to get the break. Fernandes is in perfect position to both check for a needed break and ask SOBERANO if he wants to tap out. The Masked Man shakes his head and strains even harder.
Block: Is SOBERANO going to tap out? Can he last the round in this submission hold?
Fletcher: We can only hope.
With his fingertips inches away from the ropes, SOBERANO finally gets a hand out and nearly, NEARLY grabs hold… AND DONZIG PULLS HIM AWAY AND BACK INTO THE CENTRE OF THE RING! DONZIG STEPS OVER ON THE LEG HOLD AND LACES UP THE OTHER LEG!
Block: PENNSYLVANIA CLOVERLEAF!
Referee Fernandes checks again for a tap. SOBERANO shakes his head and Donzig just SIT BACK ON THE HOLD, JACKING UP THE PRESSURE TO THE MAXIMUM. AND SOBERANO, WITH NOWHERE TO GO. TAPS OUT! Referee Fernandes is VERY quick to break the pair up, not allowing Donzig to do any more damage.
DINGDINGDING!
Burt Tennor: THE WINNER OF THE CATCH WRESTLING PLATE, AT FOUR MINUTES AND FIFTY EIGHT SECONDS OF ROUND THREE, DOOOOONZIIIIIIG!
Block: So close to the bell. You’d be gutted.
Fletcher: I wouldn’t even be in a match with Donzig. That man is scary.
Block: You can say that again!
Fletcher: Well too bad, because I'd rather say goodnight!
Block: Hey that's my-
Fletcher: Goodnight everyone and thanks for tuning into REIGN's first show! We'll see you again next month with exciting action!
