Esmeralda von Krauss walks into through the front entrance of a hospital. She is in a shimmering gold gown with a shopping bag in her hand. She walks right by the information desk as if she knows exactly where she is going and what she is doing.
It's this confidence that prevents people around her from asking her where she is going. As she walks, she whistles.
She steps into a bathroom, the people she walks past not paying any attention to her as she does so. She closes the door and locks it. She begins changing out of her clothes and into the white dress of a nurse. White stockings, white dress (that’s still cut scandalously low), white gloves, and a little white hat. She packs her clothes into the bag and takes out a small vial of a clear liquid and a syringe. She fills the syringe and ensures that there are no bubbles in the needle before walking out of the bathroom with a little tray and the medicine on it.
She walks down a few doors to where we see a policeman sitting outside of a patient’s room. He stands up as he sees Esmeralda approaching. It’s clear that his eyes are “down there”.
Policeman: What’s this?
Esmeralda von Krauss: Pain medicine for the patient, dahling. This will help him with the sleeping until it is time to debrief him.
The policeman nods, mesmerized by her heaving bosom.
Policeman: Go on in.
Esmeralda von Krauss: Thank you, dahling.
Esmeralda walks into the room where a blonde man lays asleep in the hospital bed. His neck is bandaged from where her upholstery needle passed through his throat, but he survived the attack. His armor lies bagged up in a corner. It’s a wonder that the police haven’t taken the armor for their part in the investigation.
The man’s eyes open wearily and focus on Esmeralda as she injects the medicine into his IV port. His eyes fly open in recognition.
Man: YOU! What did you do to me?
The man’s face twists up in pain and he arches his back up into the air.
Man: Make it stop! Please!
Esmeralda holds up another syringe.
Esmeralda von Krauss: You tell me what I want to know and I will give you the antidote to what I poisoned you with.
Man: I don’t know anything! I’m just a enforcer!
Esmeralda places a hand on the man’s midsection and forces him back to the bed with a casual show of strength. She looks down at his pained expression. She knows she broke a rib in him just now.
Esmeralda von Krauss: Tell me, dahling. Where is Alexis Logan? She and I have a lot to talk about.
Man: I d-don’t know who you are talking about!
Esmeralda nods and holds up a ring, the signet ring of the Red Thirst.
Esmeralda von Krauss: I know you work for her organization, the Red Thirst. I bet if I go through your belongings, I will find one of these with them. Come on, dahling. You only have a few precious minutes of life remaining before you die. Time to be honest. You owe your immortal soul a good place of rest…
Man: Fine. You were to pay with your lives for the death of Madam Lussier. I don’t understand what went wrong.
Esmeralda smiles, it is the unsettling sight of the cat about to finish playing with his prey.
Esmeralda von Krauss: Oh, dahling. You don’t even know what you work for to know what you fight. Alexis Logan is a hag of some sort.
There is a commotion outside in the hallway and Esmeralda catches sight of the policeman getting his head slammed into the doorframe. As he falls limp to the floor, Mormo and Moloch walk into the room with Lady Sinclair Godfrey right behind them.
Sinclair Godfrey: I wouldn’t be the one to call others names like that. It’s racist.
Esmeralda hits a backflip kick into the air, keeping the Oblivion Death Squad at bay while she puts the would be assassin between herself and them. They come charging anyway. Moloch slams a fist down onto the man’s chest while keeping his eyes on Esmeralda. She could scarcely look away from the soulless eyes as the man gurgles and spits out blood from his crushed chest.
Esmeralda von Krauss: What have you done?
Sinclair Godfrey: You have a match coming up against Donzig to determine who will go on to Supremacy in the X*Crown match. Donzig doesn’t want to face a distracted woman who is pretending to be a vigilante when we all know that you’re a villain at heart yourself. You don’t care about the people you saved or the people you’ve lost. Admit that you’re a monster…
Esmeralda von Krauss: I am who I am. I am Caia Ulthia the Merciless. I am Asta Reitan of the North. I am Esmeralda von Krauss.
Now Mormo and Moloch look to Sinclair, who frowns in some small confusion herself.
Sinclair Godfrey: What do we call you then?
Esmeralda von Krauss: You-
Esmeralda grabs the dead man to flip and hit Mormo in the temple with an upside down roundhouse kick. She lands on the floor next to Moloch and jams the needle into the side of his neck. His eyes roll up into the back of his head and he falls to the floor as well. She rushes straight for Sinclair, who jumps back and closes her eyes, but impact comes.
When she opens her eyes, there is no one in front of her. There is a light exhalation of breath on the back of her neck.
Esmeralda von Krauss: I think we both know that without you, these two are just brainless goons. I wonder if they are stupider than my twins.
Sinclair starts to turn around, but then the tip of a dagger presses into her back.
Esmeralda von Krauss: The Red Thirst are killing my people and you interrupted my time with the last of the men who ambushed me. I wonder how Donzig would do without you at his side? Would he crumble to dust? Would he even shed a tear at your death? Would he vow to avenge you? Or, would he just get someone to replace you to babysit his goons?
Sinclair Godfrey licks her lips and turns around, despite the threat of the blade.
Sinclair Godfrey: If you must kill me. Do so with the blade and not boring me to death with your words.
Esmeralda just gives a predatory smile, which makes even Sinclair a little nervous.
Esmeralda von Krauss: The policeman is going to wake up at any time and he will find you three knocked out next to the dead man by Moloch’s own hand. The three of you can go to prison for murder while I defeat Donzig in the ring.
Sinclair Godfrey: Kill me.
Esmeralda von Krauss: Any other time, you would die. Not tonight.
Esmeralda strikes her in the temple with the hilt of the blade, sending her unconscious to the floor. She slips out of the room as the policeman is starting to stir. He doesn’t notice Esmeralda, heading straight into the room with his gun drawn and his other hand on the radio.
Policeman: I was knocked out and fear people are in the room of the suspect to do him harm.
He discovers that the man on the bed is dead and the three new suspects are stirring on the floor. He levels his gun at them.
Policeman: Don’t fucking move! Hands on your head and lay on the floor!
Esmeralda walks back to the bathroom, picking up her bag and changing back into her regular clothing. She takes the nurse outfit with her on her way out of the building.
Esmeralda von Krauss: Donzig. Was this an attempt to make sure that I was on the “right track”? That I was focused on you and no one else? Well, that time has come, dahling. I will bring my full fury on you when I win the chance to go to Supremacy.
You classify yourself as a supervillain. You are a dangerous henchmen that should be kept on a chain, let he goes off and does crazy stuff. A freak on a leash to be sure. That’s why my husband wanted you in the KGB. You were a barely restrained rabid dog. You could be sent at his enemies and stuff would happen. Brutal, violent stuff that brings a tear to my eye when watching it take place.
But that’s all you are. A valuable henchman, not a mastermind. What I will do in that ring is put you back into the place that you belong. By my side instead of against me. Your punishment will show you who the master really is.
