Esmeralda stepped over a pair of downed clowns, shaking her pretty blonde head before she paused a few feet from Donzig. A shrug, and she lifted hand to absently inspect her nails before she sighed. 'I wanted to make sure you had your agressions worked out before I made an appearance, dahling.'
Donzig grunted, a hand waving as he watched her. 'That's fair. How's Armand?'
Esmeralda shrugged, and tsked. 'You could call him and ask?'
Donzig grunted again, he did miss Armand but calling people wasn't really his thing. He lifted a hand, wiping it across his mouth before he shook his head with a scowl. Then he leaned forward, rolling his shoulders as he remained perched atop Sticky. 'Listen, Esmeralda, you know what I want. I want that fucking X-crown, and we all know I am going to stop at nothing to get it. So let's get down to business.'
EVK arched a brow, and she gave a faint smile as she stepped closer. 'I agree, I don't have time to play your little games with you. I don't need to deal with you and your--'
Esmeralda tried to think of a word it seemed, and Donzig snickered. 'Fizz calls them goons, just go with that for the moment.'
'--goons. I am sure you are up to some long game, and plotting the destruction of Spike for some perceived slight. Maybe he forgot to send you a Christmas card, dahling? Is that it? Or this just another way to stick it to Caffrey?'
Donzig licked his lips, grunting as he stared at her with those empty eyes. EVK tsked, and she looked around the destroyed room before she lifted a book from one of te few remaining tables. She flipped through it, and then arched a perfectly sculpted eyebrow at Donzig before she spoke. 'You know you may fool these others with your mad dog routine, and these seemingly random attacks. I know it amuses them to think you're a loose cannon when an Armand or a Soutter isn't telling you what to do. But--' EVK snapped the book shut, and she tossed it aside. '--I am not so blind. I know how that mind of yours works, and so I would love to know is it about Spike? Is it about sticking it to the XHF by holding the X-Crown? Or is it just for your own amusement.'
Donzig hissed, and he slid to his feet. He delivered a stomp to Sticky, and he shrugged as he started to pace slowly. He shook his head, thinking it over for a minute before he he tugged at his beard. He snorted, and looked back at her as he picked up a piece of broken furniture. 'That's my business, Esmeralda. You and I normally try to stay out of each other's way, I don't see why we need to have a problem now. I shall overlook your--' a pause, and he took a deep breath '--insulting overlooking of me. And you can forgive the transgressions of my dear Baroness and the goons.'
'Ah, 'dear' Baroness, dahling?' Esmeralda smiled. 'You finally going to admit you have feelings for that poor besotted girl?'
Donzig whipped around, his eyes narrowed as his lips drew back in a snarl. His hands were balled into fists, and he took a step forward before Esmeralda laughed.
'Still in denial? No bother, I understand how self-absorbed you are.'
Donzig grimaced, and he lifted a hand to point absently. 'Esmeralda, you could just give up. You know I don't care about your assassins, whores, or whatever.'
EVK smirked, and shook her heead. 'Now where would be the sport in that, dahling? I know you would hate a hollow victory.'
A grunt at that, and Donzig shrugged. 'Then how's about this? We settle it in the ring, winner gets to destroy Spike. If I win, we forget this unpleasantness. If you win? Donzig-gun will owe you a favor for our interference. Perfectly civilized, eh?'
Esmeralda looked around the room, taking in the destruction before she paced across the trashed room. Stepping around a few of the sprawled and broken clowns, and she glanced back at Donzig. She knew he was very serious about this wager, and she could think of worse things then having Donzig and his minions owing her a favor. On the other hand, she knew enough to be aware that Donzig's favors had a way of ensnaring you in his schemes. 'Sinclair is going to forget this? This place looks expensive and you have quite demolished it.'
Donzig snorted at that, dragging his hand across his beard as he looked around. He bent down, picking up an antique table leg which he absently tossed aside. He shrugged, and arched a brow. He was wary of EVK, but he didn't want a war with the woman if it could be avoided. And besides he had always gotten along with Armand Von Kraus, and he absently delivered another kick to Sticky as he stirred. 'This is hardly the first place I have trashed, and with better reason. Sinclair will get over it, and she should be grateful after that mess don't you think? You should make a decision before Sticky pulls himself together, I would hate to do this all over again.'
EVK laughed at that, a musical sound as she tsked before wagging a finger at the Scourge. 'You were very hard on poor Sir Monocle, do you think that was called for?'
Donzig shrugged, and he smirked. 'He should be happy he didn't go out the fucking window to be honest. Do we have a deal, Esmeralda?'
'Ah, very well, dahling. But don't think I am going to go easy on you.' she purred, eyes meeting Donzig's.
He licked his lips at that, absently shrugging his shoulders as his hand curled and uncurled into a fist at his side. And he sniffed, before he waved a hand absently. 'Of course not, you and I have a reputation to maintain. This will be a war, and I expect nothing less. Give Armand my best, and get your clowns out of here.'
Donzig shrugged, and walked for the door without another word. 'See you soon, Esmeralda.'
Donzig grunted, a hand waving as he watched her. 'That's fair. How's Armand?'
