And we come in to see NLW’s Brittany April sitting at her news desk for the post show report. A few Christmas lights and a small tree were seen around the desk as we are coming off the holiday. Brittany’s bright smile comes out as she is ready to get this going.
Brittany April: “Welcome back to the NLW post show, everyone. Sorry about not doing one after the pay per view, but a mix of factors stopped me from doing it. Between personal issues and getting everything ready for Christmas, I just was unable to find the time to record this for all of you, but we’re back this week and ready to break down Open Fight Night 3!”
She kept that smile on her face the entire time.
Brittany April: “After the opening run down we get into it right away as new signing Razor Blade took on Richard Energy. The two battled back and forth for a few minutes as Blade got a good chance to shine in his debut and Energy also got a bit of a moment to look good too! Blade picked up the win with his Razor GTS to start his NLW career in the right way.
It wasn’t a bad match at all and really accomplished what it had to with getting Blade on the screen and into our hearts.”
Two and a half star graphic popped up on the screen. Brittany took a sip of her drink which was in a Starbucks cup.
Brittany April: “Devin Mitchell came out to piss and moan for a little while following some hard losses. I mean, dude, you said you’re better than Al Jabroni and Chris Sanderson, then why didn’t you win?! Anyways, he kept on crying like a lil’ bitch until Scott Hampton came back. Hampton and Jason Long had one of the most brutal matches in NLW history in August. Apparently he was sick of Devin’s bitching too as he kicked him before cutting a promo saying he wants to be the man.
It accomplished all it needed to. Devin got to whine, Scott got to shine and declare his intentions. Though Devin should either get good or shut the hell up. No one likes a crybaby!”
Another sip of Starbucks.
Brittany April: “Second match of the night saw Nathan Parker take on the lesser Goon, David. And yes, he’s lesser because he’s not the NLW Champion. It’s just common sense! These two beat the absolute crap out of one another and it was a joy to watch. There wasn't respect, just wanting to maim the other person across the ring. Parker won with his Naptime sleeper hold. This was just a fun war.”
Three stars popped up on screen.
Brittany April: “The Crinkly Bottom Boys were selling photos and giving away turkeys if anyone bought one. However, we saw the pictures were of Mongo, or someone who looked like Mongo anyways. These two are always fun to watch and this was no different!”
Ad break. A long feature for Oh Violent Night was shown along with telling people to watch a replay of Swingers Party. Oh, and Brittany’s Twitch channel.
Brittany April: “Match three saw The Guardians, Adam Sanders and Adrien Cochrane, take on the Tilted Cartridges of Wellington Dunne and Cheez. Sanders looked good to start after an early assault from Dunne before Adrien came in to give Dunne some punishment. Of course TC tried to dropkick the Dropkick King only to find out it doesn’t work out too well. Both teams gave it a great run in this match with some back and forth action until The Guardians got the win after the Skyfall. What a fun match between two tag teams that wanted to show out.”
THREE STARS!
Brittany April: “And we jumped right into our next match, Eli Dresden taking on Jason Long, another one of the open matches on the night. These two got into it fast and furiously, no Diesel as Long nearly kneed off Eli’s face. These two went back and forth more than most have throughout the night with some high risk moves and high impact stuff too! I thought Long had it after his Kingmaker but my girl Eli kicked out. Eli got the win with a beautiful OMFN. What a match between these two. Pretty sure there’s some history between them, but again, with holidays I wasn’t able to properly research. Even as a stand alone, this was an amazing match.”
Four and a half stars! Brittany sips her coffee with a content smile.
Brittany April: “No one wanted to talk as Nathan Cage took on Bloodied Fox right after. Wish people had wanted to talk to let some of these matches breathe! Anyways, Cage did talk a lot, because talks a lot, before they got into the action. Cage got off to a violent start, what else is new, but Fox nearly caught him with a small package! The two kept battling as Cage kept talking shit here and there. Eventually, Cage was able to get the better of Fox and got him with the Death By Cage to get another big win on his quest to becoming the guy!”
Four stars!
Brittany April: “A small teaser for the return of The Jitterman is seen as, well, it scared the shit out of me.”
She shuddered with another sip of coffee to follow.
Brittany April: “Sixth match of the night, and first of two title matches, saw Thespian defend the Southern States Title against… Sexton Love. Sexton, naturally, is bigger but Thes showed a lot of resolve throughout the match. Love dominated on occasion, but Thespian kept fighting back every single time. Of course, Love was a shithead and tried to unmask Thespian numerous times, and perhaps that was his downfall instead of trying harder to win. Thes kneed the absolute fuck out of Love’s face to retain the championship once again!”
Three and a half stars. She really doesn’t like Sexton Love.
Brittany April: “BB Gunn made a couple of announcements. The Tilted Cartridges are getting a shot at The End’s NLW Tag Titles on the next show, and Keahi Sparks, thanks to her upsets, is getting an NLW Title match against Ricardo Goon! That’s so bad ass Sparks is being rewarded for her awesome wins over the last few weeks.”
Another ad for the same shit as earlier. It comes back to Brittany smiling perhaps bigger than ever.
Brittany April: “And then it was time for the main event of the evening as the XHF Junior Heavyweight Championship was on the line, Florida Man defending against Chris Sanderson. Look, I’m biased as fuck in this instance, but Christopher’s promo leading up to this show was one of the most heartful promos I’ve seen in my life. He really does all of this for his family, and to hear the hurt in his voice over his failures and what this match means to him, it just hit me hard because I think everyone has felt that way about failure and letting the people they love down so much.”
She takes a moment to sip her drink.
Brittany April: “The two started off on the mat before going into what suited FM a bit more. FM got a close call on a top rope dropkick and kept working over Chris got a good few minutes. Florida Man asked for a slower count when Chris got a nearfall and complained about an accountant. A big package, because Florida Man apparently isn’t small, nearly got him the retention. Eventually Chris began to come back with the Killshot and flipped out of a brainbuster and hit the Untitled Finale III TO WIN THE TITLE!!!”
Look, if you didn’t expect her to give this match five stars, why are you watching this show? Confetti went all over the place too.
Brittany April:: “Look, again, this is my show and I will celebrate my big brother winning the Junior Heavyweight Champion all I friggin’ want. You want to see something different, start making your own show! This was one of the best things I’ve seen this year. I was with my niece and nephew and my sister in law watching this. We all went insane when that hand hit a third time. My sister in law started crying because she was so happy for him. What a Christmas for our family, it’s the best and I will keep stanning it!”
The overall show grade came up with a B+. Good stuff!
Brittany April: “Open Fight Night 3 was a great show from start to finish with a real heavy emphasis on wrestling, and none of the matches disappointed. Everyone who wrestled should be really happy with how they performed!”
Final ad break of the night. Same stuff again.
Brittany April: “And coming up on January 8th is the first Ascendancy of the new year and it’s a loaded card again! We start off with Scott Hampton taking on Willie Steen. I think Hampton will be ready to show why he wants to make his way to the top title in NLW and will down Steen in his debut!”
Match graphic for the eight man tag.
Brittany April: “Up next is a big eight man tag as Adam Sanders, Felix who has not been shown the door despite some online rumors and the New South take on Brad Swann, Nathan Parker and The Goons. I think we’ll see Sanders, Felix and New South take this one. Felix is growing, Sanders is always really good and New South wants to rebound after the NLW tag title loss.”
Match graphic for Jitterman against Jabroni.
Brittany April: “I like Jabroni but this Jitterman… I think he might kill someone and I don’t like Jabroni’s odds in this one. Jitterman showcases himself.”
Match graphic for Nathan Cage against Razor Blade.
Brittany April: “Nathan. Fucking. Cage.”
Match graphic for The End against Tilted Cartridges.
Brittany April: “We all know I don’t like The End, but in this one, I don’t know. They’ve already beat Tilted Cartridges previously, and The Guardians just took them down too. The End are good at this even though I hate Mehrunes Smith with a passion that burns more then when Sexton Love pees, The End will retain.”
Finally the match graphic for the main event, Ricardo Goon defending the NLW Championship against Keahi Sparks.
Brittany April: “This is what knocking off some of the best NLW has to offer gives someone. I don’t think anyone thought Sparks would get a shot at the champion and yet here we are. Goon will be hungry to come out and defend this championship in his first defense, and Sparks has proven to be a giant threat over the last few weeks. You know what? I AM IN ALL IN ON KEAHI SPARKS. NEW CHAMPION. ANOTHER UPSET. LET’S GO!”
An upset of the week graphic pops off as Brittany finishes her Starbucks.
Brittany April: “Thank you for joining me for the third post show report. As always, I appreciate all of you watching and have a great New Year’s! Be safe, have fun, fuck a lot, I’m not your supervisor.”
And we fade out.
Brittany April: “Welcome back to the NLW post show, everyone. Sorry about not doing one after the pay per view, but a mix of factors stopped me from doing it.
