Hey look my second update is on page two! Quick update, I did already have a male nidoran not a female. The color in this is not great. I thought it was blue but apparently it’s pink. So with that I grinded hard.
I eased my way through Viridian with my Pikachu roasting bugs left and right and knocking the occasional bird out of the sky. While doing so i zapped a bird and it didn’t die. Turns out it was a pidgeotto. It was practically fainted and paralyzed so much like the guy whose footsteps I’m following in m, Ash, I decided to grab him and named him Ott.
After escaping the forest I continued to grind. I got my Pikachu to 15, Pidgeotto to 13 and Nirodan to 15. With this team I took on Brock and wiped the floor with his ass and the one minion he had with double kick.
This is where I stopped for now. The Nidoran grabbed another level to hit 16. Next stop Mt. Moon.

I think Charmander and Bulbasaur is around Cerulean, if my memory serves me correct.

I’d love to run with Charmander because he’s my favorite, but I’m gonna try and run with Pikachu as my main. We’ll see though I tend to change on a whim.

You don't catch them. They're given to you by NPCs.

UPDATE: Hype’s post above is not wrong. I’ve been horn attack and double kicking the shit out of fools as I strutted right through Mt. Moon. I used my Pika at first because of all the zubat, but eventually ended up double kicking the life out of all the rock types.
Mixed in there of wild Zubat and Rockies was my first interaction with the dreaded team rocket. They weren’t much trouble for my squad, but there was a surprise near the end when the true team rocket of Jessie and James ran up on me. It wasn’t long though before they were blasting off again. On my way out I grabbed the Helix fossil and ended up in Cerulean City.
After this king trip I hit the mart to grab some paralyze heal and antidotes because not having any bit me in the ass a little in Mt Moon. Then I hit up the Pokemon Center to heal my guys and moved my Pika to my top spot and headed to the gym headed by the “beauty” Misty. *yawn* Not sure why these peeps even showed up. Pikachu thunderbolted these fools right into my second gym badge.
Current team: Pika - Level 20 Nidi - Level 21 Ott - Level 18 Karpington - Level 5 (new edition bought off of a rocket)

Wow, a lot has happened since my last check in. I left and headed for Bill’s house and immediately ran into my rival, the smelly Mongo. I handed his ass to him just to have to beat a group of randos on a bridge. At the end it turned out they were Team Rocket trying to recruit strong trainers. I refused, but they held up their end of the bargain giving me a nugget for winning.
From there I went on to meet Bill battling trainers on the way. I get there and it turns out he turned himself into a pokemon and needed my help. Pikachu and I helped him out and he gave us a ticket to the SS Anne for our troubles. You’d think the biggest poke maniac could come up with a bit more for saving him, but heh.
Once I get back to town I’m allowed into the house where a Team Rocket member has stolen dig from a couple. I chase him down and win it back only for the man to not need his dig TM anymore 😳. Without cut I have no choice but to go south and battle my way to Vermillion where the SS Anne is docked.
Aboard the SS Anne I run into a shit ton of trainers of all types. It wasn’t easy to get through and for the first time I needed to use potions but I defeated everyone on the ship with only one pokemon fainting. Again I beat the dog shit out of Mongo just before meeting the ships captain and getting the HM Cut which I need to face Surge.
Speaking or Surge the Vermillion gym is my last stop in Vermillion. Nidoking cannot be effected by electricity so I ran through this gym like a hot knife through butter. This is where I stopped with my first fishing rod acquired, cut acquired, and one more gym badge acquired. Next stop is back to Cerulean to get my bike and then onto the next path.
Current lineup:
Nidi - Level 30 Ott - Level 21 Karpington - Level 14 Charbie - Level 12 Pika - Level 25

Quick update.
I went all through the ghost town (Lavender Town) but since I can’t fight the ghosts with out a silly scope I moved on to Celadon. There were a lot of trainers on the way to smack up and level up my pokemon with. I also took a brief detour first to level up in the cave and caught a new mon who has joined the squad.
In Celadon I checked everywhere, grabbed a coin case and picked up an Eevee that’s gonna chill in the box. The most important thing I did, though, was go past Celadon above the cycling road to grab the HM Fly. Taught that bitch to my Ott. Now not only can I go back to the places I visited whenever I feel like it but the move was a key piece in what happens next.
Celadon Gym and Gym Leader Erika. My helper who tells me all about the gym is apparently a degenerate gambler because he was not at the gym but did tell me all about the gym while working the slots. Lucky for me they’re weak against both fire and, you guessed it FLYing. So the first couple trainers I took out with my way too low a level Charbie and then finished the gym off with my Ott killing them all with Fly and Gust. Handles all the women easily and decided before I smack up Team Rocket in their headquarters I’d give y’all an update.
Current team:
Ott - Level 27 Charbie - Level 23 Karpington - Level 20 Nidi - Level 39 Pika - Level 27 Diggle - Level 32

BIG update
After landing badge four I made my way to the rocket hideout. Man that place is huge and there’s a lot to do. It reminded how small the bag is in the OG games because multiple times I had to run back to the Pokecenter to put items away or use items to clear space to pick up more items. I know in this hideout you can skip some of the battles by finding the right warp path and dodging some of the grunts, but that’s not how I roll. I went floor to floor beating everyone I could until I got the lift key. Then I went back through and made sure no one was left before going to the lift. From there I checked every floor from the lift and beat anyone remaining before heading to Giovanni’s office. I remember Giovanni being somewhat difficult in the past, but with Diggles I was able to smack him up pretty damn easy and grab the Silph Scope.
After my big victory I decided to fly home to pallet town. I made my way back on foot to train up some of my smaller teammates a bit and catch some shit I ignored on the first run so I could build my dex a little bit.
With the Silph Scope in hand I made my way to Lavender town and entered the pokemon tower. The place is full of people morning their dead pokemon and for some reason a lot of channeler pokemon trainers who were ready to fight. Again there’s a lot of stuff to pick up filling my bag but not nearly as much as Rocket HQ. Anyway, not much to note. Caught a wild Gastly and Cubone before reaching the top and again fighting Jesse and James. They’re laughable easy and I rescued an old man who literally didn’t need saving, but he gave me a poke flute anyway which is a helpful item for getting the snorelax’s out of the way.
Up next is another battle with team Rocket as they’ve taken over Saffron, specifically Silph Co. This was a lot like rocket HQ. A lot of floors and a lot of grunts and I used the same strategy. Floor to floor smacking up Grunts and Scientists until I found the key to the locked doors. Then I did the same thing as before but this time going floor to floor unlocking the doors and grabbing the items and beating all the grunts and scientists until I was sure I got them all. Then it was off to Giovanni again, but first Mongo was in my way. I handled him like the bitch he is and then manhandled Giovanni for the second time in this update. As thanks for my hard work on beating the Rockets and driving them out the President of Silph gave me a master ball that has MewTwo written all over it.
With the Rockets gone I could access the gym, but first I handled the old gym which is now the Karate Dojo. It was an easy run as the fighters are weak to flying and my Ott flew all over them and evolved to a Pidgeot in the process. For my troubles, and since they don’t have a gym badge, I got my choice of the two fighting types. I took the hitmonlee and named it Bruce before heading next door to take on the psychics. This was slightly harder because whole Thrash from my Nido was a killer to most it doesn’t have many moves that effected the couple ghost trainers. In the end I got through pretty easily and landed badge number 5.
Current team: Nidi - Level 49 Karpington - Level 21 Diggle - Level 37 Pika - Level 31 Ott - Level 41 Charbie - Level 26
