The Last Round NYC, New York City, New York
The show opens as Burt Tenor circles the ring in the narrow "Last Round" gym. He is doing faux exercises in an attempt to warm up the crowd. The fans are all laughing at the antics, but ultimately they're waiting on these big bouts they've placed their bets on.
Block: Hello REIN and XHF Network fans! Thank you for saying goodby to 2021 with us as we head into 2022! We've got a huge-
Fletcher: -Relatively speaking-
Block: -Night ahead of us. First up we'll see the Hardcore Plate get its first holder as Dakota Jennings, the 2020 End of Days winner, take on Sinclair Godfrey, who nearly cost Dakota at Esmeralda their win when she introduced chairs into their match against the Oblivion Death Squad.
Fletcher: Don't waste words- REIN's bosses have signed off on letting Dakota murder Godfrey with chairs. See? Much simpler.
Block: And in our main event we'll see the two current plate holders face off to determine which one goes on to be REIGN's first representative for the X*Crown!
Fletcher: That should be interesting to say the least, that match will have big implications on the power vacuum between Esmeralda, Donzig, and D.
Block: But enough from us, let's turn things over to Burt Tenor, who's giving us the signal to start!
The lights go down, and came up red as Sinclair walks down the ramp, pausing to lift her coat before she looks out over the crowd with a faint smile.
"LET IT RAIN, LET IT RAIN, OH WON’T YOU LET IT RAIN?
LET THE STORM RAGE LET THE WATER RUN HIGHER
LET IT RAIN, LET IT RAIN, OH WON’T YOU LET IT RAIN?
BAPTIZED IN A RIVER OF FIRE!"
LET THE STORM RAGE LET THE WATER RUN HIGHER
LET IT RAIN, LET IT RAIN, OH WON’T YOU LET IT RAIN?
BAPTIZED IN A RIVER OF FIRE!"
Burt Tennor: Introducing first, she weighed in tonight at one hundred and forty pounds, hailing from an undisclosed locaiton, SINCLAAAAAAAAAIR GOOOOODFREEEEY!
Block: The ever mysterious Sinclair Godfrey.
Fletcher: I’m not afraid to say it, Vinny. Sinclair gives me the creeps.
Block: She certainly is a mysterious and sinister lady.
Then she walks down to the ring, climbing the stairs before wiping her feet on the apron. She steps under the ropes, lifting the coat before she shrugs it off to toss it to the ref. Pausing in the center of the ring to lift her arms. Immediately, the word “Firecracker” appears on the large screen, red and green laser lights spin around the gym as Foo Fighters begin to sing the opening to the song. Then the word fades and is replaced by the name “Dakota” as the redhead makes her way out to the stage area, the fans becoming thunderous in their applause for her. She raises a single arm up before making her way down the
aisle.
Burt Tennor: Making her way down the aisle, weighing in at one hundred and twenty six pounds, she hails from Syracuse, New York, by way of Scottsdale, Arizona.....She is the Firecracker, DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKOTA JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENIIIIIIIIINGS!
Block: Dakota Jennings, the master of chair related carnage.
Fletcher: You have to admit, with chairs legal in this match Dakota is going to be in her element.
Reaching the ring, she confidently strides up the steps before stepping under the second rope before climbing up one of the turnbuckles, raising a defiant middle finger toward her opponent as the fans cheer her relentlessly.

Tables and Chairs Match
Dakota Jennings vs Sinclair Godfrey
Tables and Chairs Match
Dakota Jennings vs Sinclair Godfrey
The bell rings and we are underway. Both competitors immediately slide out of the ring and arm themselves. Sinclair picks up a steel chair from a pile that have been placed at ringside. Dakota looks at he pile and casually picks up a chair, giving it a swing to test it and then instantly discarding it, opting to look under the ring apron for something she stored there during set up. As Sinclair slides into the ring, Dakota picks up her SPECIAL chair, the word “Firecracker” stencilled onto it in her signature early Metallica like font. Jennings slides into the ring and the pair stare at each other, armed for heavy combat.
Block: Both ladies have grabbed the steel and I think it’s about to get violent.
Fletcher: It was going to get violent from the second this match was announced!
Dakota and Sinclair stalk each other, the Firecracker swinging away at nothing, presumably just to get her eye in. Both competitors decide to close distance and put all their effort into mighty blows, looking to crash steel on skull… CRACK! The chairs slap into each other, the crash of steel on steel echoing round the arena. CLANG! Another swing from both Godfrey and Jennings sees the chairs bounce off each other with a juddering force. CRASH! A third swing continues this duel, ‘Kota and Sinclair wielding the chairs like swords, trying to force a blow through. CLATTER! One final lusty blow from the pair and this time the force of it sends both chairs skittering out of the grasps of their wielders and down to the mat below.
Block: It’s all out chair warfare!
Fletcher: With Dakota Jennings, everything can turn into all out chair warfare.
First to react, being at one with the chair and knowing it is no longer in her hands, The Master of the DKO uses the close range to fire off an elbow smash that rocks Godfrey. Dakota backs away and takes a short run up to add a little extra momentum to a short toe kick sending Sinclair staggering backwards towards the ropes. Backing off for a full run up, Dakota sends herself hurtling across the ring at full speed, leaping and turning her body to connect flush with The Witch’s jaw, sending both competitors out of the ring over the top rope in an undignified mess of limbs. Dakota stands outside and poses for the fans.
Block: Dakota Jennings attacks so suddenly. She can capitalize on even the smallest of advantages and instantly takes control.
Fletcher: There’s a lot of wrestlers that can do that thought, Vinny. She’s far from unique.
Carelessly throwing three chairs on top of her downed opponent, each one landing with a solid smack. Dakota takes her time to line up a shot and stomps downwards onto a chair, smacking the sole of her boot against the steel, sandwiching Sinclair between the unforgiving furniture and the solid floor beneath. Dakota lays in shorter, sharper boots on Godfrey until she is happy that Sinclair is stunned enough then reaches under the ring again, sliding out a table much to the rapturous joy of the crowd.
Block: Dakota going for something big here.
Fletcher: I’ve fallen through a few tables in my life and it’s not a pleasant situation.
Block: In wrestling?
Fletcher: No, just in general.
Dakota carefully balances the table between the ring apron and guard rail. She lays in a couple of shots at Sinclair Godfrey’s head as she lifts Godfrey up and lays the mysterious one across the wood. Dakota steps onto the ring apron and grabs a chair from the ring, holding it in position behind her legs. Jennings walks backwards along the apron and leaps off towards Sinclair, sticking her legs out, aiming for a chair assisted double leg drop… AND SINCLAIR GODFREY ROLLS OFF THE TABLE WHICH DAKOTA JUMPS THROUGH AND BREAKS!
Block: DAKOTA MISSES!
Fletcher: That’s the problem with being a high risk wrestler. Sometimes the only reward… is pain.
This time it’s Godfrey to her feet first, moving snake like, stalking Dakota who is seated in the splintered rubble of the table. The Witch grins and swings her leg into a powerful kick into Dakota’s tail bone. Not wanting to waste any time, Godfrey grabs Dakota by the hair and slings her under the bottom rope. Sinclair follows her opponent in, slithering under the ropes and hooks a leg…
ONE!
TWO!
THR… Jennings kicks out.
Block: That was a close call for Dakota Jennings.
Fletcher: Sinclair Godfrey isn’t going to let up now. It’s going to get nasty in there.
Block: Dakota is at Sinclair’s mercy.
Fletcher: I’m not sure she has any.
Godfrey slides Dakota’s own chair underneath her, backing off a little before coiling her leg back. Jennings slowly sits up, looking to shake off the cobwebs but The Witch uncorks a huge superkick to her seated opponent’s face. Dakota looks stunned, shaken up by the force of the blow. Another sinister smile from Godfrey as she wheels away to create enough space to get a little run up. Sinclair composes herself and gets up to a flat out run, jumping at the still seated Jennings and driving her knees onto Dakota’s shoulders, crashing the back of ‘Kota’s head against the carefully placed steel. The Witch maintains the cover…
ONE!
TWO!
THR… Jennings squirms out.
Block: Not the ideal pinning combination to get the win.
Spencer: You do enough damage, even a simple knee press will win you a match.
A little annoyed, Godfrey stands and mulls over her next move. She circles lithely around Jennings, watching every move The Firecracker makes as The Wrestler That Came From Scottsdale slowly gets back to her feet. Sinclair makes sure she is in perfect position to take Dakota’s back and as Jennings stands, a couple of swift kidney punches from The Witch makes sure she can grasp hold with no resistance. As Dakota’s back arches backwards as a response, Sinclair ducks down and slides her head under Dakota’s flailing arm, grasping a back waistlock and falling backwards, spiking Dakota to the mat.
Block: SAITO SUPLEX!
Fletcher: Shades of… Masa Saito.
Block: Amazing research there.
Fletcher: If they want to pay me to do more, I have a bar tab to clear somewhere.
Godfrey keeps the waistlock on and roughly hauls Dakota to her feet. Now the look is more concentration than sick enjoyment as she seeks a way to put The Firecracker down for good. Sinclair slides her arms upwards into a standing double arm crossface and jumps into the air, driving both her knees into ‘Kota’s back. As the pair land, The Witch slides her body round to flip the pile and with both hands locked firm around Jennings’ face, Godfrey arches her back to get the maximum amount of torque shooting through Dakota’s spine.
Block: THE BLACK OATH! THE BLACK OATH!
With the referee dropping down to check for a tap out at every crank on The Firecracker’s neck, Sinclair Godfrey stresses and strains. Every movement is calculated to add extra pressure on the submission predicament as Dakota reaches desperately towards the ropes to force a break. The only break on Godfrey’s mind, however, is breaking Dakota Jennings’ damn neck as she pulls and contorts her opponent. Dakota manages to struggle and rotates the pile a little, looking for a better angle to reach the bottom rope but Sinclair grins and uses the momentum to wheel Dakota further from rather than closer to the ropes. The referee checks again, but Dakota emits a muffled “No!” declaring she’s not willing to give this up yet.
Block: Dakota Jennings is in a heap of trouble.
Fletcher: Dakota Jennings was in a heap of trouble when this match was booked. I wouldn’t mess with a disciple of Donzig.
Dakota knows she can’t reach the ropes but with Godfrey cranking back hard on The Black Oath, The Firecracker knows she has to do something. She extends her arm as far as she can, hoping, praying, feeling out for where that rope is positioned. The rope however remains out of her grasp. The pain, the stress is agonizing. Dakota knows she is seconds away from tapping out. She reaches one last time…AND PICKS UP HER SIGNATURE CHAIR, SWINGING IT WILDLY BACKWARDS WITH HER FREE ARM AND SMASHING IT WILDLY INTO SINCLAIR GODFREY’S FACE!
Block: NOW THAT’S HOW TO REVERSE A SUBMISSION HOLD IN A MATCH WHERE CHAIRS ARE LEGAL!
Fletcher: Yes, with a chair. Obvious, really.
Sinclair Godfrey reels back, clutching her face where a cut has opened up through the force of the blow. Dakota gets to her feet, chair in hand and rolls her neck, attempting to loosen it up from the pressure that The Witch put it under. Godfrey is a little woozy as she staggers to her feet and is a lot less lithe than usual as she slowly turns to face Jennings but it’s The Firecracker who has her own idea of what’s to happen next.
Dakota Jennings: CATCH!
The chair is hurled with force straight at Sinclair Godfrey’s face and reflexively she is forced to catch it to stop herself from being brained. Dakota cocks her leg back and FIRES A MASSIVE SUPERKICK INTO THE CHAIR, BOUNCING THE STEEL OFF OF GODFREY’S FACE!
Block: DKO MARK II!
Jennings drops to cover…
ONE!
TWO!
THR… Godfrey kicks out.
Block: So close!
Fletcher: And yet so far.
Dakota stays in a prone position on the mat, sliding away from Sinclair Godfrey as The Witch stands. Godfrey turns, slowly, dripping blood in a small circle as she wheels. Jennings scoots round on her front and waits for the precise moment to strike…AND DAKOTA POUNCES FROM THE MAT, LOCKING IN A THREE QUARTER FACELOCK AND DRIVING SINCLAIR’S HEAD INTO HER SHOULDER!
Block: DKO! DKO! DKO!
Now Jennings is totally feeling it. She calls for one of the ring hands to throw her a chair which she catches and sets up mid ring. Another chair is set up facing it. Then a table is called for and slid into the ring which Dakota takes and rests on the two chairs. Dakota looks down at her opponent, still not moving from the impact of the DKO. Dakota picks up one of the chairs inside the ring and sets it up on top of the table. Then the other chair in the ring is placed facing that. Another table? Yes please. This is laid on the second level of the tower. Finally Dakota grabs in her wrestling tights for a small, well secured bright yellow bottle.
Block: Oh my god. That’s not LIGHTER FLUID is it?
Fletcher: Is this a tables, chairs and lighter fluid match?
Block: Well, it is now.
Godfrey has got to her feet but Dakota sees this and fires off a kick to the midsection and two downward elbow strikes right to the cut on Sinclair’s forehead. Stunned, Sinclair staggers backwards towards the corner and slumps backwards. Dakota turns back to the table stack and squirts a generous amount of lighter fluid on the top table before striking a match and setting the tower alight!
Block: She’s no longer The Firecracker. Dakota Jennings is the Firestarter.
Fletcher: Twisted Firestarter.
Block: Hey, hey, hey.
With deliberate steps, Dakota Jennings approaches the corner. She fires an elbow at Sinclair Godfrey’s bloodied face and lifts The Witch up, placing the Donzig Disciple on the top rope. Dakota measures her approach and steps up the ropes, looking to turn into a super flaming table assisted DKO to finish this contest. ‘Kota climbs the first rope. Then the second…AND SINCLAIR GODFREY SPEWS OUT A CLOUD OF BLACK MIST INTO DAKOTA’S FACE! DAKOTA STUMBLES A LITTLE, TRYING TO CLAW THE BLINDING LIQUID OUT OF HER OWN FACE AND NEARLY TOPPLES BACKWARDS… AND SINCLAIR GODFREY GIVES DAKOTA A HUGE LIFTING SHOVE SENDING DAKOTA THROUGH THE FLAMING STACK OF TABLES!!!!!!
Crowd: HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT!
Block: HOLY SHIT!
Fletcher: Holy shit!
Dakota writhes on the mat in agony, rolling to put the flames out. Sinclair Godfrey hops down off the top rope and walks over and hooks a leg.
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
Burt Tennor: The winner of this match, by pinfall, SIIIIINCLAIR GODFREEEEEY.
Block: Well it took a fall through flaming tables to stop Dakota Jennings.
Fletcher: Some people need a ton of effort to put them down. And Dakota Jennings took more than most tonight.
Block: This is REIGN. When we promise a spectacle, we deliver.
Burt Tennor: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. The winner will go on to the Battle of Hegemony in representing REIGN! Featuring first the challenger, hailing from Cologne, Germany…she is Esmeralda von Krauss!
“Circus Apocalypse” by Vermillion Lies begins playing as Esmeralda von Krauss walks out from the back. She is in a stunning black evening gown though he singlet can be seen in the slit that goes up the side of her legs to her hips. She stands at the entrance stage with a jet black foot long cigarette holder with an Egyptian cigarette in it that she is smoking. Hehehe and Hahaha come out behind her to the boos from the crowd. She turns around and sees them standing there. She points to the back.
Esmeralda von Krauss: Nein! Go to the back. This is a battle of respect between me and Herr Donzig. I will not have need of your services.
Hehehe: Awww.
Hahaha: But we like playing.
Esmeralda von Krauss: Not today. Go to the back.
The twins hang their heads and head back through the curtains to the back. Esmeralda heads down to the ring, stepping into the ring, and shedding her dress to the catcalls of the crowd. She stands in the middle of the ring in her singlet and kicks the dress out of the ring.
Block: This is what happened during the Oh Violent Night show. She made them not interfere.
Fletcher: Donzig and Esmeralda were allies in SWAT and NPW. Makes sense that she would not want interference between them.
Burt Tennor: And her opponent, hailing from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania…Donzig!
The light go down, and then come up an angry red. Donzig walks from the back, wearing his skull mask with his hood up. He pauses, glaring out across the crowd before he shakes his head before walking down the ramp slowly. He circles around the ring, still watching the crowd before pausing to watch the announce team before he climbs the stairs. He stops at the ropes, reaching up to shove his hood back before stepping through the ropes. Then he takes off the mask, and shakes his head at the fans with a scowl before he leans back in his corner. Arms resting on the ropes while waiting for the match to start.
Block: I see that Donzig doesn’t have his Oblivion Death Squad out here either. Sign of respect from him too?
Fletcher: No, he normally comes out alone.
Block: Oh, right.
Fletcher: Donzig respects only Donzig.
Block: The dead one?
Fletcher: Maybe.

Singles Match
Donzig vs Esmeralda von Krauss
As the bell sounds to start the match, Esmeralda and Donzig begin to circle around one another while looking for an opening to begin an offensive. Esmeralda feints a low kick that Donzig easily dodges before going into a flip ax kick that Donzig also sidesteps. He grabs her by the arm and whips her into the ropes. On the rebound, he goes for a lariat, but she rolls under the extended arm and goes to the ropes again. On the next rebound, Donzig goes for a backdrop, but Esmeralda puts the brakes on and kicks him in the head. Esmeralda goes for a suplex, but Donzig reverses it and gets her up into the air. Esmeralda twists and manages to drop behind Donzig, going for the inverted ddt, but Donzig manages to get ahold of her instead and his a snapmare. Esmeralda lands on her feet, facing Donzig, and goes for a roundhouse kick that Donzig ducks underneath and hits an uppercut that sends Esmeralda flying to her back. Esmeralda rolls through the landing and back to her feet, springing back at Donzig with a shoulder charge that connects, flattening Donzig. Esmeralda continues to the ropes as Donzig hops back to his feet. She rushes back at him, but he manages to catch her in a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker.
Block: Dizzying action from these two.
Fletcher: They are both talented wrestlers.
Block: This is true.
Fletcher: Oh for the love of Pete. That’s why I said they were talented.
Donzig quickly rips Esmeralda up from the mat to do a power bomb, but Esmeralda reverses it into a huricanrana. Donzig rolls to his feet and throws Esmeralda across the ring with an arm drag. She rolls back to her feet and goes for a spinning elbow strike. Donzig blocks the attack and returns with his own elbow strike that rocks her. Donzig follows with a snap suplex and a pinfall attempt.
One
Tw-Esmeralda kicks out.
Donzig kneels up, but Esmeralda does a fingertip strike to the underneath of his jaw, stunning him so that she can get up to her feet. She applies a leg scissors choke lock, cutting off the blood flow to Donzig’s brain as well as air to his lungs. The referee gets in there to check to see if the move is really a choke and begins to count her out. The ref gets to four and Esmeralda breaks the hold.
Block: I see respect doesn’t follow through to following the rules.
Fletcher: Rules? This is about X*Crowns and succession. Even you can’t be caught unawares.
Block: Recycling old bits? That’s based on the Lion King.
Fletcher: Let me say this simply. STFU.
Esmeralda hops to her feet and goes to the ropes, rushing back and connects with a superman palm strike to the nose! Donzig is dropped back to the mat, blood splattering from his nose like a faucet. She grabs him by the head and chin, holding him there.
Esmeralda von Krauss: After tonight, Donzig will only be in the hospital instead of everywhere.
Donzig reaches quickly, pulling her legs out from underneath her to bring her down to the mat. He mounts her and begins laying into her with punches until the ref can get him to get off of her. They both stand up, Donzig wiping blood from his mouth just as Esmeralda mirrors the motion.
Donzig: You want to maim me? I was going easy on you, but if you want to play for real. Donzig will play.
Donzig grabs her by the arm as if going to whip her into the ropes and brings her down instead with a short arm clothesline. Donzig waits for her to stand and goes to kick her in the gut as to set up the stunner, but Esmeralda catches the foot and brings him down with a dragon leg whip. She follows this up with a moonsault double heel stomp to the shoulders, staying there for the cover.
One
T-Donzig kicks out!
Block: That was a pretty insulting way for her to go for the cover.
Fletcher: I think that was the intent.
Donzig sits up and Esmeralda grabs him for a reverse chin lock, putting her knee into his back to help with the leverage. The ref checks to see if he will surrender the match, but he refuses. Donzig gets his hands onto Esmeralda’s wrists and pries them away from his chin. He stands up while still holding her by the wrists and whips her into the ropes. He follows quickly, slamming her in the midsection with a knee that flips her over and into the middle of the ring. Esmeralda gets back to her feet, but is brought back down with the 25:17 (unprettier) and Donzig goes for the pinfall!
One
Two
T-Esmeralda kicks out!
Block: Donzig taking the advantage so far. She lit a fire under him when she was going to snap his neck.
Fletcher: You think?
Donzig jumps to his feet and pulls Esmeralda up. He goes for the stunner again, but she seizes him when he turns and hits a German suplex that she bridges up on for the pinfall!
One
Two
Th-Donzig kicks out!
Esmeralda gets to her feet and goes to the ropes while Donzig gets back to his feet and comes back at him. She rolls into a squat so that she can leap up, but Donzig kicks her in the face as she starts her leaping uppercut! Dark red blood flies up in a high arc as her head snaps backwards and she crashes to the mat. He goes for the pinfall.

Three-NO! Esmeralda gets a foot on the ropes!
Donzig shakes his head and stands up. He pulls Esmeralda to her feet and starts to go for the stunner, but Esmeralda drops into a squatting position as he reaches for her. He looks down curiously and Esmeralda springs up with a leaping palm strike to under the jaw that sends Donzig up into the air before he falls onto his back.
Block: JUSTICE! Esmeralda hit Justice!
Fletcher: Very observant.
Esmeralda quickly goes for the pinfall.
