Was anybody surprised by the triumphant return of the God of Xtreme, The Spiked One, the first ever nCw Triple Crown winner, Spike Kane? It didn’t suprise me in the slightest, but then again I have a pretty damn good record when it comes to fighting El Dragon and his boneheaded partner, I’ve always done well and excelled against the Internationals. So Trauma saw the return of one of nCw’s founding fathers, one of the men that helped put this company on the map, and one of the men who brought so much business here in the form of fans, and workers alike.
Make no mistake, Spike is back.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not exactly proud that I kicked a man when he was down, when he was fighting his battle against addiction, I provoked him, and gave him yet another reason to fall victim to it.....but then again, when the tables were turned, did anybody give two ****s about me? Hell to the no. There were a few friends who reached out and showed their support....
Jake Conway...
Joe Everyman....
Rob Diamond...
Falcon....
the rest of you? You can all kiss my grits. I’ve had the backing of the nCw upper management throughout some of the worst periods of my life. They haven’t always had my back though, there’s been times when I have fought against them because I felt like they were mistreating me. It’s no secret, it’s well advertised. I stand up for myself, I fight for what I believe in, even if it means putting my career at risk. When it is all said and done though, I stand here before you all as one of the “founding fathers” of nCw, I stand here a man who has given more to this company than most of you, combined. No...there are some who have given, and continue to give more, and I have nothing but respect for them, but when people have the audacity to look down their noses at me, they need to be educated.
I am the God of Xtreme, the most violent man to step foot in this company, the second national champion, second world heavyweight champion, former tag team champion, former honor champion, second hall of fame member, former general manager, former tv show host....and the first ever triple crown winner.
I’ve given my life and soul to this company, and I am firmly etched in the history books, and will be remembered with every breath that speaks nCw.
Trump that.
Now I’m going to take the time to talk directly to my opponents, because.....well, why not?
Jackhammer, do us all a favour and for the love of God shut the hell up.
I did watch your promo, although for the life of me I don’t know why. I mean we all know I could just watch a promo you cut three years ago and get the jist of everything you say.....re-cut, and re-use, right? I mean we all know what to expect when you step foot in front of a camera. Generic catchphrase number five, from generic wrestler number seventeen. Oh, by the way....the court for original catchphrase called, they said that the nineties want their tired, worn out, re-used catchphrase back. Oh, and....we won’t like you when your angry?
JACKHAMMER SMASH!!!
Please dude.....just walk away, shut the *** damn hell up and walk away. You’re a monster now, right? I’m sorry, I didn’t realise Lex Sense was finished with that moniker, or that Xander Famularo had passed on that gimmick. You get the point I’m trying to make here Jackhammer? You’re a friggin’ joke, a laughing stock, a pathetic cut out of the big man stereotype and you completely lack originality. This is why you’ve never made it Hammer, why you’ve never been the success that you think you are. I mean, come on, do you seriously see yourself walking away from this match as the winner?
Bitch, please.
Can you imagine the matches that could happen when I win? A Night to Remember could feature a long awaited reuinon of the first ever, and second ever world champions, I could face Lance Ryan! Hell, I could bring back Jack Manson and relive the drama of the barbed wire cage match. I could finally have a match on the level it deserves to be with Angel, I could notch a final chapter in the saga between myself and my brother Brad Kane.
Hell, anyone who wins this match may very well still select me to fight at A Night to Remember. You know why Hammer? Because I am a bonafide legend. I’ve done it all, I’ve had matches that have won match of the year awards, because when you’re in the ring with me you know you have to give it your all. You know that you are in for the fight of your life, and you know that the crowd will leave satisfied. So you can slander my gorgeous wife, you can insult her breasticles, you can make childish comments about me, but at the end of the day Hammer...
Who would choose to fight you?
Exactly.
Moving swiftly on...
I don’t think I can recall the last time we were in the ring together Xavier, let alone on opposite sides. Way back when I remember being at your side, I remember seeing the potential that you had, and the ability you could display. We’ve stood side by side more than once, in more than one group, or faction.....why? Because I like to surround myself with talented people. Just think back to The Empire, when I took over what was the first thing I did? I recruited some talent, I brought The Ace into the fold. As far as the X-Division goes, your name rings synonomous with it, and deservedly so.
I’ve seen every match you’ve ever had in this company, and with vested interest. Once upon a time, we were friends. You were there for some important parts of my life, and you witnessed my downfall, but you never gave me **** for it, that is something I’ll always be greatful for X. You never kissed my ass, you never told me what I wanted to hear....you gave it to me exactly as it was, which is something the world has come to expect from you. So when we face of this week I expect as much. You think I’m past it? Tell me. You think I’m rusty? Tell me. The thing is, I can stand here with confidence and know that you won’t, because tearing people down has never been your style, it’s never been a strong point. I know what is, and it’ll be in that ring, doing your talking there.
So....Xavier, whereas I’m glad to be sharing a ring with you, and I’ll give it my all to steal the show, because we’re more than capable of doing so. Don’t let yourself think that nostalgia will prevent me from going forward and picking up the victory. I like you, you’re a good guy, and extremely talented....but I. just like nCw, will be going out with style, and I’ll be leaving Sovereign with the victory.
Steve Awesome.
*** damn.
The one name that I used to hate seeing across from mine when the higher ups dropped the cards on us. Not because I thought the match would suck, not because I was particularly scared of you. You were just my bogey opponent, for years, and years I couldn’t beat you. No matter how hard I tried I would always fall short. I’d maybe pick up a win here and there in tag matches, but whenever it came to one on one, I’d never be able to pull it off. Maybe it was fate? Maybe it was just my mind playing tricks on me and forcing me to accept defeat, or maybe....as you’re probably thinking right now....you were just better than me?
Maybe you were.
But it didn’t last, because I stayed true to my purpose. I never gave up, and eventually it came. I beat you, I broke the curse, and got that monkey off my back. It didn’t do anything in particular for my career, because let’s face it, there isn’t much to be done for it is there? I’ve been at the top, I’ve achieved greatness, reached legendary status, but that victory was for myself. It was for my pride, and my own self confidence. Everybody needs it now and then, you’ve been through slumps yourself, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
I’ve watched your career almost from the beginning, I’ve seen the amazing talent you’ve grown into Steve. I remember back when you where smashing against the glass ceiling, back when you and Kevin Hardaway were trying to break through.....and boy did you. You’ve had an amazing career, and I’m not going to slander it. We’ve got on at times, we’ve hated each other at times, but I am firm in the knowledge that getting you to join nCw was one of the best things I ever did for this company. From no pants Steve, to Close Encounters of the Awesome Kind, you’ve entertained us all dude, and I’ve always enjoyed sharing the ring with you because whether we’re trying to one up each other, whether we’re trying to impress a woman, or whether we’re trying to break each others faces it’s always been one hell of a match.
So I stand across from you this week full of confidence, with nothing in this world to lose, realising that with yourself and Xavier in this match we really do have the chance of stealing the show.....we’ll just have to sweep the rubbish that is Jackhammer under the rug.
I know you’ll bring it Steve, and I want you to, because I want to fight Steve Awesome at his best, and if I manage to pull off that feat? I’ll be able to go into A Night to Remember with more confidence than I ever have done.
Deuces Steve.
