With The Crinkly Bottom Boys having left the stage, albeit with no chance of being the Keynote speakers at the next Greenpeace conference, Recoba takes his position back at the podium. Cross Recoba: I'd like to take this moment to stress, these awards are voted for by both peers and public. If you're tempted to complain just remember that you can only blame your fellow man for what you just witnessed...and Mongo because...well...shall we go to our friend and long-time XHF Network ally? Cross Recoba: And from that, how could we not seamlessly go into our next award? 2022 XHF STABLE OF THE YEAR Cross Recoba: We've seen some great stables in recent years - LGBTKO, Legion, and Team #FuckMongo to name but a few. Stables have the ability to help their members rocket through the ranks and take on challenges and opponents that, singularly, may be too high or too far a reach for them to overcome without help. Mongo also loves them because they offer yet another way the XHF Network Shop can make bank but I'm sure he'd assume you'd all know that! Personally, I'm just happy that this won't turn out like last year where The ReVenants took their success at the awards and decided it meant they could forgo the rest of what is needed in wrestling....namely talent, charisma, and work ethic. Cross opens the first envelope. Cross Recoba: In third place... {Spoiler}The Guardians Cross Recoba: Couldn't happen to nicer people...runners-up.... {Spoiler}NEW Money Cross Recoba: Which means that your 2022 XHF STABLE OF THE YEAR IS.... {Spoiler} Cross Recoba: Well, if anyone would want to follow our last winners it'd be these guys...

As the audience gives their best awards show applause one fourth of the stable and one half of the Fireside Tag Team Champions El Combatiente stands up and heads towards the stage. He is dressed quite dapper compared to his normal ring gear and gym style attire wearing a black suit with a narrow bold red tie and a fresh new mask in matching colors. He reaches the podium and lifts the award and examines it.
El Combatiente: Gracias.
He sets the award down in front of him and clears his throat.
(I am not sure what to say. I came into this company with no friends in the wrestling world other than Javier. I was not expecting to make many either. I had a singular focus of getting my name back. I eventually made friendly with colleagues like Radu, Soutter and Linda in SWAT, but once I was injured that was it.)
The former SWAT World Champion pauses to again look at the award and then looks back up and continues.
(That’s why when I was preparing for my come back I planned on joining one of the few actual friends I made, Dylan Black, in Japan. Destiny had other plans for me. Javier took a call you can’t refuse. It was the former President Curtis Kanyon. He wanted me for what was going to be just a one off team up, but once we were all together magic happened and look at us now. We are the best stable on the Network.)
He again raises the award to applause from the crowd before setting it down and stepping aside for the next member of his stable.

*Curtis staggers to the microphone, and El Combatiente quickly steps in to stabilize him as he's about to fall over. Curtis collects himself and looks at the award. Then at the crowd.*
: You know, when I made this rag tag group for Call to Arms Two, I knew we'd win the night. But I didn't know these guys would win my heart. I've had many a tag team partner, but I thought those days were behind me. I just wanted to make a man suffer. And these blokes stepped up. They helped me when I was left high and dry. And we all lifted each other up. We've all been champions over this past year, and we'll continue to have championships, because we're awesome. I mean, people tell me I still promo like it's the year 2000, and I don't even know what that means, but apparently my old ass promo skills still outshine most tag teams. Not those Crinkly Bottom Boys apparently. But that's okay. Blobby is a monster. A monster that I thought I was supposed to vanquish. But maybe he's unvanquishable? Maybe he's meant to be my Moby Dick? I mean, he sure is a dick. But maybe someday... maybe... zzzz *El Combatiente nudges Curtis in the ribs with his elbow.*
: Huh!? Yes, I'll have the steak medium well please. Oh... hey, we won an award! You know, when I made this rag tag group for Call to Arms Two, I knew we'd-- *Combatiente whispers in his ear.*: I did? What the fuck did Steve put in those fifteen shots I had? Okay, well, um, when we all got together, magic happened. Look at us now. We are the best stable on the network! So watch out other stables and peoples, because when you're in our sites, you will feel... the... BA NG !*Curtis steps aside, is it because he's done, or because he's just dizzy? Who knows!*

Spike emerges from the pack as he moves towards the microphone looking dead serious compared to the others.
Spike: When Kanyon offered me the spot on his team for Call to Arms... It was just a means to an end, a path to the X*Crown championship.
He pauses as a few boos ring from the crowd, Spike just glares in their general direction.
Spike:... But this rag tag group of misfits didn't just win Call to Arms. They absolutely dominated the XHF Network, tag team champions, X*Crown Champion, End of Days winner, owner of Dylan arm!? The list goes on... And I know I owe these guys for helping me deal with those shit stains in New Money.
Spike steps to the side of the podium and crotch chops when he mentions New Money.
Spike: I found three guys that I would go to bat for, that I would put my body on the line for. I came back pissed at the world, but my team mates, my stablemates.... My Bros, showed me how to live again! So thank you...
Spike raises the award gesturing in the air, before putting it back down.
Spike: but we're only getting started.
Spike turns to Steve as he gestures to the podium and the award, before jostling Kanyon awake, Spike shrugs to El Combatiente before quietly asking.
Spike: Do we mount the award on the tank?

Finally, Steve Awesome steps up to the microphone. As he does you can see he’s wearing his new shirt that says “Best tWeener in the XHF” on the front. He grabs the award with Dylan’s arm and holds it high.
Steve: WE DID IT WOOOO!!
He sets the award down and continues.
Steve: I think my compadres here said it all. This was never supposed to be a thing. We were just going to win Call To Arms and that’s it. But hell, you guys are my bros. We have fun together. We have just been having fun together all year and we got this.”
Steve pulls his shades down and peers over them into the camera.
Steve: So don’t make us get serious, bitches.
He smirks.
Steve: What else? Oh yeah, Dylan Black is a bitch! See you at Supremacy. Bang Bros Rule! Suck it!!!”
He throws out a few crotch chops and then goes back to celebrate with the guys as they head out. Steve stops and runs back to get Kanyon, who had fallen asleep again.

With The Bang Bros speeches now concluded, Recoba resumes his position at the podium. Cross Recoba: Excellent, we're around the halfway mark and we've seen some great people being recognised, not as great as myself, but you know - I'm hosting...and the XHF still need to work out what to do with the fat contract they renewed me to last year. 2022 XHF NETWORK UP AND CLEAN AWARD Cross Recoba: Our next award recognises that the XHF Network isn't just comprised of what happens inside the squared circle. That without the work and endeavors of many people involved across the Network, we'd all be poorer for it. The Up and Clean Award recognises non-wrestlers with pep, with charisma, with a work ethic that would put Fox and his crew to shame...no offence, Fox, you'd agree too! Recoba opens the envelope. Cross Recoba: In third place... {Spoiler}Doctor Chaos Cross Recoba: In second place... {Spoiler}Kuroi's Stroid Addicted Dog Cross Recoba: I think we can all agree, we lost out on a speech for the ages there. Your winner, however... {Spoiler} Cross Recoba: If you'd like to come up to the podium and give us a few words...

{Aleister blinks from his seat in relative surprise, his fellow co-owner, Kingsley, claps him on the back of the shoulder as he nudges him to get up on stage for an acceptance speech. The three other Harbingers, Hunter Storms, Jormungandr, and Fenrir all nod in unison as Mayfield gets up from his seat and approaches the podium, eyes finding it hard to pull themselves away from the award that sits before him. Taking a brief moment, he adjusts his tie before looking out into the sea of people with a slightly awkward smile, faintly chuckling.}
Aleister: "If I'm to be completely honest, I never really thought I'd be winning an award tonight but here we all are. It's only been about six months since the doors of MCCW, now SCCW, have reopened, and to think an award can now be added to the trophy cabinet is something special for not just myself but the entire company itself."
{Kingsley offers a subtle thumbs up from the crowd to his fellow co-owner.}
Aleister: "Two years ago we might've been in a similar situation given how much I hear the praise from others on my work ethic and passion for the business and ensuring to help make Wednesday and Thursday nights all the more entertaining. Hell, even had a few weeks where we had a few guest commentators on top of it, which I thank both Dom Morrissey and Brent Sampson for their parts in helping with the revival of the company. On top of it, I wouldn't exactly be able to do what it is that I have been doing for the past couple of years if not for the work put in by my fellow co-owner, Kingsley Solomon. Seriously, if it wasn't for him then we probably wouldn't have Voltage and Ignition like old times' sake."
{A content sigh escapes him.}
Aleister: "Back to the topic at hand, I am truly honored to be awarded for being the most Up and Clean this past year in the XHF. Even with the few weeks off here and there, the talent of SCCW, and those behind the scenes, even Ronnie goddamn Woodberry, put in our absolute best in order to ensure that you folks got quality shows week in and week out. Ultimately, that will be our forever goal in the weeks, months, and years ahead so long as we're part of the Network. So long as we continue to thrive, there will always be a Voltage and an Ignition to look forward to. Thank you to all those that voted me as the most Up and Clean, and I can promise that I will live up to the prestige of this award throughout the year."
{Kingsley and The Harbingers are the first ones to rise and applaud their colleague as he begins to walk off the stage, award in hand. Others nearby join in the applause as Aleister rejoins the quartet, Kingsley amicably patting him on the back for a job well done.}

With Mayfield having returned to his seat after rapturous applause, Recoba resumes hosting duties. Cross Recoba: Perhaps the feel-good moment so far of the evening, can we give it up for Mayfield one last time. Once more the auditorium comes to live in a symphony of applause. Cross Recoba: Now, if the last award is to showcase and reward those who pour their heart and soul into the Network, the following award is to reward the creativity and the ever-evolving nature of the business we're in. 2022 XHF NETWORK BEST MATCH TYPE OF THE YEAR Cross Recoba: I have to say, before I joined the Network I never dreamed that I'd see matches involving scrapyards, bears, and chilli peppers. I still, to this moment, can't work out if that's a rewarding or enticing part of the Network but here we go... Recoba opens an envelope.... Cross Recoba: In third place... {Spoiler}The Iron Hell Deathmatch[/spoiler Cross Recoba: Even the names put your teeth on edge... Another envelope.... {Spoiler}The Ghost Pepper Death Match Cross Recoba: There was yet another match type that it turns out an Eddie Walker character will job to...meaning your winner is ... {Spoiler} Cross Recoba: Every year I end up saying words in an order that shouldn't be possible. Please, which ever fed took this match to mean it should be booked - come on up and deliver a speech!

Post by Mongo the Destroyer on Jan 26, 2022 19:32:56 GMT -5
*From the back comes a confused looking Bongo (the Destroyer), the XHF Network’s EVP of Talent Relations. He's dressed in a full suit but has a headset on, that is quickly handed off to a staffer who comes running after him. He approaches the podium.*
Bongo: Huh, wow. It all comes full circle I guess.
*He laughs nervously*
Bongo: Over a decade ago the Xtreme Hardcore Federation decided to try a crazy idea of being a ruling body over multiple federations running. If that sounds familiar it's because that's what we're doing now here in the XHF Network. At that time though, there were only two member companies, VXW- rebranded as XHF: Vortex Wrestling, and XHF: No Mercy.
*Bongo starts to beam.*
Bongo: XHF: No Mercy, run by myself and our staff was not around for long, didn't do many shows, but we had a lot of fun along the way. The winning match tonight was first fought between Randy Angel and Hardcore Harry and got uh....more violent than I expected when I created it, haha. Regardless, now in this new XHF Network it's always good to get the recognition for our work at building the foundation.
*He holds up the award.*
Bongo: Thank you very much, this is for everyone here who is building a new legacy for generations to come! May your hard work here never be forgotten!
*As the people applaud he walks to the back, frequently bowing in respect.*

With Bongo having departed, Cross comes back to the stage. Cross Recoba: You see how slow he moves? That's my fault, he's bearing the weight of that contract they gave me...heavy isn't it, Bongo? Regretting that guarantee yet? Bongo is seen shaking his head in disgust. Cross Recoba: Next up, we have an award that is always hotly contested. 2022 BEST XHF NETWORK MATCH Cross Recoba: Part of the attraction for wrestlers and fans alike is that the Network isn't just one company, it's a collective of them. What that means for a wrestler is that you will face all kinds of styles and approaches inside the ring and also be given a bigger stage to compete on. We've seen some great Global matches this year, personally I made a killing on everyone who bet against the Crinkly Bottom Boys at End of Days but the signs were there, chaos was the order of the day. Will one of those be good enough to win this award though? Lets find out... Recoba starts to open the envelopes. Cross Recoba: In third place.... {Spoiler}The Cruiserfest Main Event Cross Recoba: Solid choice but, here's the crux, Florida Man has IT but Eddie Walker clients have negative IT. Obviously this cancelled out the positives... Another envelope. Cross Recoba: Our runner-up... {Spoiler}The Corn Maze Death Match Cross Recoba: Meaning our winner is... {Spoiler} Cross Recoba: Come on down, get your award, and let the people know how it feels to win!

*From the back a 6'5, 370lb beast of a Pacific Islander stomps out (it being a little difficult to do anything other than stomp when you're that enormous.) His suit barely fits, his tie is knotted extremely badly. He lifts the microphone he is handed to his heavily tattooed face and booms out..*
Va'aiga: KIA ORA, XHF!
*The Maori Badass beams at being given a live mic in front of a crowd for the first time in years.*
Va'aiga: Guys, lemme tell you a little somethin' somethin'. When I got a call from Mongo sayin', "V, big man, we need a road agent to help sort out this mess we call a Rumble." I knew I was the guy. Lemme tell ya it's hard ta get it down for who goes out when, runnnin' the draw, herdin' people ta go out when they should. But, hey, ain't never been a challenge I ain't up for. So as a guy who worked on this whole Rumble thing, I'll take the award. But this ain't an award for me. This award is for the backroom staff who put it all together. This is for the wrestlers who fought out there. This is for Jesse Jamester and Riley Richards. Armand von Krauss and Anthony Caffrey. Copycat who defied all expectations. John Cavanaugh and Spike Kane who fought for over an hour. Primal and Cheez, MOTHERFUCKIN' CHEEZ, who chump dumped so many people. Misha Constantine and Dylan Black who came so damn close. This is for Adrien Cochrane who won the damn thing. This ain't for me. This is for all y'all motherfuckers who make this thing pop. So for all y'all hard workin' wrestlers from this hardly workin' retired wrestler...
*Va'aiga takes the award, holds it high in the air in his massive meaty right hand while throwing the Shaka sign, pinkie and thumb out*
Va'aiga: BOO-MOTHER-FUCKIN-'YAH!

With the Maori now clear of the stage, Cross heads back to the podium. Cross Recoba: I wouldn't worry too much about details, I've seen Mr Blobby walk away with two more awards tonight than I've had since I joined so take it with a MASSIVE pinch of salt... 2022 XHF NETWORK BEST LOCAL MATCH Cross Recoba: Whilst not everyone will compete at a Global event, almost every Network member will compete on a local show. The beauty of the XHF Network is that even on what people might call a small show - a sleeper hit of a match can happen. Look at GUNS, each show its own must-see, can't miss event. Look at NLW where they are regularly putting out PPV calibre matches on Ascendancy after Ascendancy...even FIRESIDE has had some bangers on shows with little hype or fanfare... With the last compliment, Cross takes a sip from his glass and gargles in the vain attempt to take the taste out of his mouth. Cross Recoba: Voted for by the critics, peers and fans alike....in third place... {Spoiler}Donzig vs Felix 2 Cross Recoba: That was a banger, it even made me care about Donzig so it HAD to be good... The second envelope is opened... {Spoiler}The NLW G1 Final Cross Recoba: Sheesh, I can tell you a lot of people lost a lot of money just now with that not winning. But, YOUR XHF Best Local Match of 2021 was... {Spoiler} Cross Recoba: Wow! If you'd all like to give a brief speech, I'm going to go gargle with Absinthe to get this bad taste out of my mouth....

Fox, now slightly tipsy, makes it to the stage at the same time as MYOJIN. After a few moments of "You first.", "No, after you." they realise the steps are wide enough for both of them to go up together. They arrive at the podium, where MYOJIN signals for Fox to go first.
Damn, wasn't expecting this one either, but I'm damn glad to share winning it with four of the best. Winning the Junior Heavyweight title marked a real step up in my career, so it was only fitting that MYOJIN made me absolutely suffer to do it. Shoving my shoulder back into its socket mid-match is officially the most painful thing I've ever done.
He looks at MYOJIN, who shrugs to the audience's amusement.
It was a phenomenal match, I'm glad you all enjoyed it, and I sure as hell want to do it again sometime.
He steps away from the mic and gestures to MYOJIN to take his place in the spotlight.

MYOJIN walks up to the microphone, giving Fox a friendly smile. Though their demeanor wasn't as near as jovial as they took a deep breath, sighing gently with some melodrama.
“Thank you, darlings, so much. On one hand, I'm pretty happy about this. Revitalizing the Junior Heavyweight Division had been my goal during my time as champion. I wanted to make that belt worth something again, to have it be one of the most prestigious championships in the Network- and considering that I'm now here with an award for putting on an absolute classic with Fox, I can happily say that I succeeded- of course not on my own, however. That said… Did I have to win my only award for last year for a match that I lost? That and the second place nomination?”
It was clear they were being playful, cracking a pearly white-toothed grin as the audience lightly laughed in response. But their expression grew subdued once more.
“...Truth be told, I'm a bit unsatisfied. With myself. Not being able to step up and go as far as I would have liked, and I really wanted to be the best. I let myself down at the later end of 2021 and..”
MYOJIN frowns, getting slightly emotional. Though the disappointment on their face quickly is replaced with determination.
“I'm not going to do that again. This award? This reminds me of what I'm capable of when I put everything and more into my wrestling. This reminds me of who I can be, what I can be when I'm at the top of my game.. So, I promise one thing and one thing only, lovelies: It only gets better from here.”
With that, MYOJIN smiles as the crowd gives an applause. They turn over, pointing toward Fox.
“Don't think I forgot about you, Foxxy. You and I have unfinished business- Any time, anywhere, I'd love to wrestle you again. But next time, the outcome will be much different.”
And with that, the blonde gives a wink in the other former Junior Heavyweight Champion's direction before taking their award, bowing toward the audience, and stepping from the podium.
