I usually end up scattering these in other threads anyway. Please feel free to ignore without feeling obligated to make 'thanks but no thanks' responses if you don't like. I'm just thinking out loud here. Also feel free to join in.
Okay, so I'm writing a tag match with Copycat, and I'm unsure about if or when his trademark shape-shifting should come into play. I didn't recall any from the previous match so I kept him as a straightforward (if ineffectual) face. I've commentated before about how I love his wholesomeness so I stuck to that aspect of the character. Also I get the feeling some of the more out-there KWF gimmicks that were carried over have been toned down slightly since they were transitioned to AWF but maybe that's my imagination.
... but man, if he wanted to take advantage of those powers as part of the tag scene on a regular basis, either as a heel or being manipulated by one, his powers are perfect. He could...
Transform into his partner to
- to score falls when not the legal man
- divert the opponent's attention away from the true legal man
- eat moves intended for the legal man
- present opponents with two identical wrestlers so they don't know who to attack
Transform into the opponent to
- discourage the opponent's partner from trying to assist or break covers
- make the referee unable to discern which is which
Transform into the opponent's partner to
- prevent the opponent from attacking him
- appear to take part in double teams before sabotaging them
- take their place on the apron to bait tags that won't count
Transform into the referee to
- prevent opponent interference
- break opponent holds
- lower opponents' guard by calling the end of the match
- make it appear the ref has recovered from being bumped into five minutes ago when we all know it takes a good fifteen
Dunno if that's too out there or out of character but I had these possibilities in my head and thought I'd share. Btw Copycat - if you ever feel Bradshaw's taking advantage of you too much give Slain Event Management a call and we can work a story out.
I'm not familiar with what Spector's exact gimmick is but if he ever wants to go creepy Radiohead's Spectre is right there for entrance music and is what plays in my head whenever he comes out anyway.
I alluded to this in the hype/feedback thread but while we're in the VFW Kira v assorted vets could be an ongoing feud. So like, people have to be wary of Kira keeping on going to the outside for weapons because he's psycho but every time he's outside the ring he's vulnerable to attacks from random pensioners with prosthetics.
Every time a new character comes into AWF I find myself asking how my guys would go up against them and how they would team together. I see it like 90s sitcom Friends - if this place keeps running then eventually we'll exhaust all possible combinations. A typo in Prestige 3 mentioning a performer by the name of Throb just added an extra re-branding to the Thob/Steele pairing already in my head.
