Lights dim in the building and the screen above the ramp shows footage of NOMAD standing backstage. The crowd pop with a large reaction of cheers and claps.

He stands there bouncing in place as the opening bass riff of Rotten Apple by Alice In Chains begins to vibrate the floor of the building. He checks his wrist tape one last time, he raises the TAPOUT Openweight Championship and looks at it. As the guitar enters the song, NOMAD closes his eyes, draws the hood of his hoodie up and waits for a moment.

He opens the door in front of him and walks through, bursting out onto the floor of the crowd.

Once the spotlight finds him, a mass of people begin to swarm him on all sides. With palms outstretched and the TAPOUT Openweight Championship held above his head, NOMAD begins making his way to the ring like a shepherd leading a flock of sheep.

As the vocals blast through the speakers, NOMAD nears the barrier and climbs over, Security rushes to keep the crowd from following him over. He pulls the hood back from his head and climbs onto the apron. He makes his way up on the nearest turnbuckle post, he gestures to the crowd by raising the championship above his head to a massive response as the chorus kicks in.

As the chorus fades into the second verse, NOMAD climbs down into the ring and takes his hoodie off, where he waits for the match to start.

BACKGROUND

GIMMICK » Fighter. Struggler. Nomad.
World traveled industry veteran. Haver of many demons. Adopted family member of a nomadic tribe of likeminded societal outcasts.

CHARACTER BACKGROUND/HISTORY
A child born into a violent broken home doesn’t have many options to take. Fight or flight. A young James Sloane chose to fight and hasn’t stopped fighting since. Somehow not ending up inside of a cell or six feet under the ground somewhere, he eventually found an outlet through pro wrestling. Having traveled the world multiple times over, he eventually grew tired after a growing list of nagging injuries became too much to handle and decided to step away. Whilst away from the ring, his wanderlust never left so he stayed on the move in between bouts of resting and healing. When he felt strong enough, he signed a contract with TAPOUT and made his return to wrestling. After going on an undefeated tear during his time there, the old injuries caught up to him eventually causing him to lose that streak and in turn momentum. It was at this low point in his life where he was discovered by a group of travelers who took pity on him and took care of him. This experience was one that is entirely life changing for a man who has never had a person genuinely care for him or his health in his entire life. It changed a large number of things for him, mainly it gave him a reason to continue wrestling, and a renewed sense of motivation and purpose.

APPEARANCE
In recent months, NOMAD has undergone a few significant changes. He has cut his hair and has made great strides in shedding the pounds. He has traded out the worn denim shorts for a pair of thigh lenth muay thai shorts, kneepads, kickpads over his boots and his hands taped up for a fight. He has taken on a more serious approach to his in-ring work and this is reflected by his change to more traditional ring gear.

NOMAD wrestles with a very clear Japanese influence that any independent professional wrestler in the early to mid 2000's had. Influenced specifically by the heavier Kings Road style with all the gross head drops and stiff strikes you can think of. NOMAD obviously uses his height and weight to his advantage but is deceptively fast with a gas tank that is equally as impressive. While he may not be a proficient technical master by any stretch of the imagination, he can still go hold-for-hold with the best of the technicians. Using his technical skill for counter wrestling than for offensive abilities. NOMAD is best in all out bloody brawl, that is where he is most comfortable. A veritable expert when it comes to Lariat technology. During matches he focuses on the head/neck area of his opponents above all else.
