Fade in, Trixie Mars is sat on the ring steps hoodie on, hood up, she looks down the camera and smiles.
“Mom always told me to be honest, because otherwise people won’t trust your word, they won’t believe in what you have to say. And if I’m being totally honest? I wanted more than this match, I’m an ambitious girl after all. My first Pay Per View and I face off against a familiar face in Jack Ruby, and two new playmates in Vile and Rain Blackheart. It’s not what my ambition wanted, but luckily Rob Arnold reminded me just how to keep grounded. My career is a marathon, not a sprint. As I see it, at Blow Your Mind I move onto the next lap on the marathon. I’m getting more settled with each match, I’m getting more confident in my abilities with each match, and despite not having a perfect record, my only loss has come from somebody profiting from my hard work. Nobody has put me down yet, nobody has been able to stop the Emerald Underdog, despite them all thinking they’d put little Trixie away.”
She feigns being a damsel in distress, placing a hand on the back of her head. Before continuing with a cheeky smile.
“The discount Dylan Black, Jack Ruby caught me cold a few weeks back, he was one half of the reason I don’t have that perfect record, and whilst mom taught me that revenge isn’t something I should seek, she did tell me that getting’ even could be a different matter. Jack, I told you before that you should stick to the farm, perhaps that was a little harsh, there’s plenty of fire and life in you, but I won’t allow you to drop me twice.”
Her expression has become a bit more serious, but after a pause, she moves on, and a wide grin appears.
“Vile, I like your style girl! Where have you been all my life? You want to cause damage and chaos and to hell with everybody else who may get in your way! You’re fierce and I love it, but all that hate is bad for you! I know what you’re thinking, that I’m a bit too soft, that you eat girls like me for breakfast, right? Well you’re gonna’ find that arrogance, that blind will to destroy without purpose, that’s what will get you in trouble. You’ll be hell bent in causing so much trouble that you won’t hone in on your real threats, or in this case the one true threat…me.” She puts the back of her hand by her mouth, as if to tell a secret she lowers her voice to a whisper. “And sweetie, you’re not that scary, my boss? The things he’s done in the past? That’s scary.”
She winks.
“Rain Blackheart, you and I are similar in some ways, we share the same ambition. You wanna’ be at the top? So do I. But the difference between us is pretty simple, there you are planning your next two, three, four matches, planning your life out all the way to the last sentence, because you’re such…a professional? Sweetie, I’ve been in the game next to no time but even I know you can’t plan too far ahead in this business, hell, you may not have a career after your next match because this business can take away as quickly as it gives. So Mr Professional,” She air quotes for emphasis. “you keep looking beyond this match, I’ll keep my attention on it and take the win, ‘mkay?”
A teenager style shrug.
“’Cause that’s the thing, all three of you seem to be a little preoccupied with one thing or another, whether it’s playing politics with world titles, or wanting to cause chaos in UPW, or attacking people with your prosthetic hand after…actually that’s a good point, what farm equipment did you lose that hand to, Jack?” She shakes her head. “I’m digressing. You all seem to think this match is nothing more than a distraction for something else. Me? It may not have been the match I wanted, but it’s a match that I’ll still go out and win. That’s what a real professional does, that’s what Trixie Mars does.”
She stands up and places her hands on her hips, looking straight down the camera still.
“At Blow Your Mind? Oh boys and girls, just look at the mess I’ll make.”
A cheeky wink, and we fade out.
