Hi, yinz!
As promised, here’s the post outlining the small changes that we’re going to be making.
- First off, we’ve added a new field to the application–the color you’d like us to use for your character on shows. I know that it’s not something that is strictly necessary in the eyes of some of our more old school handlers, but for the sake of consistency, I ask that you please give us that information going forward. As for the existing members of the roster… well, next point.
- In order to keep things organized/make it easier for everyone to code things, Adrien and I have compiled a list of pic bases, entrance music, and text colors for shows in a list you can find right here. Please go and make sure that everything we have is correct–and if not, let us know what changes will be needed. I know a couple of you have approached me privately about those sorts of changes. I have noted them privately, and I’ll update them when the time comes.
- I’m also gonna be giving some of the other pages a fresh coat of paint with some updated images and coding in general.
- Next up… we now have actual named referees. Two of them, in fact. Meet Gabe Valentine and Jennifer Thibodeaux! They are very excited to be here… or as excited as NPCs can be, anyway. Gabe Valentine was the head referee for AWF here in the XHF Network and brings a lot of experience and professionalism to NLW. His picbase is Charles Robinson. Jennifer Thibodeaux, who sometimes goes by Jenny, is a local youngster from Madisonville, Louisiana. While she hasn’t been in the business long, her passion for wrestling is great and is excited to learn from Valentine. Her picbase is Jessika Carr. We’d appreciate that everyone incorporates one of them into NLW matches from now on, especially in full matches.
- This is probably the biggest change of all, but it’s one we feel is necessary at this time with the size of the roster. If you no-show once without notifying myself and/or Adrien, we will move your character to inactive until we hear from you. We won’t squash you much, but we won’t book you again, either, unless you contact us. This is just better for both the character as well as the fed itself. After all, if you aren’t able to actively promo for the character, it doesn’t help it if you lose some matches during that time frame.
- We will be seeking a third admin here in the near future. We want to be able to give each and every one of you the chance to shine, and in order to do that, we will need to be able to book bigger cards. The growth NLW has experienced since roughly around this time last year is amazing, but with 26 active roster members at current plus 7 more on hiatus, simply put? We need more help. If you’re interested in helping us in this way, let us know–or if you just want to pitch in a summary or two instead, that’s also cool and appreciated
That brings me to my last point–no, not a point, but a reminder that I think needs to be made clear, especially now in this period of transition. Without yinz, there would be no NLW. Our roster, from top to bottom, is what has brought us to this point… and I know I speak not only for Adrien, but for the admins that are no longer a part of the team as well in saying thank you for being on this wild ride so far. Robbie was right when he said that the G1 is returning soon–and before that, the plans for Hostile Intent are shaping up nicely. So long as yinz are all here doing your thing, we’ll be here doing ours.
We love yinz, and thanks again for all yinz do. ♥
