HISTORY
El Combatiente is from a long line of Luchadores from Mexico City. His family migrated to Los Angeles when he was young but he grew up around Lucha Libre in Los Angeles and in trips back to Mexico. He made his way in the Southern California independent scene for years before finally getting noticed by an XHF Star in 2007. He was invited to join the XHF in order to help that star, Venom, with a plan. For months he dominated and eventually won the XHF Junior Heavyweight Championship. Venom took the title as his own and per a contract El Combatiente signed Venom claimed to have been under the mask the entire time.
Because Venom unmasked as El Combatiente the real EC was shunned by his family and former Lucha friends. He spent 13 years training young Luchadores before getting a call from SWAT. While I’m SWAT he worked his way up the roster winning the Television Championship and then the Heavyweight Champion. Injury ended his time with SWAT early. After a come back at the global Call to Arms event he continued working with former President Kanyon to dominate the Fireside tag team division, but now he is looking to head out on his own.

OUT OF CHARACTER
CHARACTER REP: Never really considered this. Back in old XHF I picked Puma (TJP’s first masked appearance) at random because I liked the mask. The build of the character was to be close enough to Venom, who was built mostly off of AJ’s moveset, without being obvious. Now I would say his wrestling style probably most resembles Rey Fenix.
