(Open to Smilin’ Jack Ruby, home at Jack’s Place as he sits in his office, whistling.
(Moe comes in and Ruby calls him to sit down.)
Ruby: Hey, Moe! How ya doing?
Moe: Much better than Harding, I’m sure.
Ruby: (laughing) Yeah, well, I guess it sucks to be him.
Moe: Nice job on rearranging his face with that wall.
(Ruby turns and looks directly in the camera, addressing Harding.)
Ruby: Harding, you learned a very tough lesson. Do you know WHY my tag partner refers to me as a bull in a china shop? It’s not because I just keep going after my opponent. There’s a fine old saying that you just learned. You mess with the bull, you’d better expect to get the horns.
Moe: I guess he found out it’s a bit harder to take you on face to face.
Ruby: Yeah, once bitten twice shy.
Moe: So, what’s next?
Ruby: It looks like I’ll be in a dirt filled ring and facing off against Kid Diaz, Ron Masterson, and Nathaniel.
Moe: That sounds like fun.
Ruby: Dirt and rocks. Yep, sounds like a real gas. Down and dirty, just the way I fight best.
Moe: I see Summer is going to be the referee in the matches.
Ruby: I know. I trust her to call all the matches right down the middle, regardless of who is in. Oh, and Madam Wu, will all due respect, I would NEVER accuse Summer of “whining” about her injuries. Summer is one tough individual. I am proud to have her in my corner when we tag and if she is talking about her injuries, you’d better believe that she’s hurting. I take umbrage…
Moe: Umbrage? Wow, I didn’t know you KNEW that word.
Ruby: …with anybody questioning Summer’s toughness. So, disparage her all you like, she has proven herself over and over again. However, YOU are the boss and think you can talk about any of us any way you wish. Perhaps the rest of the group holds you in reverential awe and is terrified by your mere presence, but to me? You’re just another boss who has a high opinion of herself. I’m going to win this little tournament of yours. And I’m going to take great joy in having you hand me the belt.
Moe: You’re not going to do something stupid, like hit her over the head with it, are you?
Ruby: I haven’t decided yet.
